The Border Force stop a man arriving from Miami on suspicion of faking documents, but an X-ray suggests he may also have been trying to smuggle drugs into the UK by swallowing the packages.
Border Force follows the work of the UK's Borders and Immigration Agency as its team of dedicated immigration officers work around-the-clock to fight illegal immigration and secure Britain's borders.

I earned £25 a week stacking shelves in a supermarket part time in the late 70's using the Mars Bar conversion rate that would have been 500 Mars Bars at 5p each. How much would 500 Mars cost today? £200? £300? So these people are earning only enough to buy only 350 Mars Bars a week. A lot less buying power than I had back then.

I don't know their laws and authority, but its not just like airport security, its the British immigration law enforcement agency. So similar to ICE I guess for the US. @@SK-rr4qy The whole lot of officers appears to treat it like a fun trip to the beach rather than a serious investigation/check... One officer is playing with a fold-out club, another is just escalating and confrontational... A very simple situation turned into a mess by officers not trained in street work... Also I don't really get how this would be legal, they just walk up to a random person who they think is foreign, that just has racial profiling screaming all over it which is and was back then too, very illegal in Europe and an easy way to get your officer career short-ended... Seems like a little project from an over-enthusiastic customs and immigration office manager really, send out some untrained/undertrained officers and hope to catch a 'Bin Laden' and make headlines for being the officer who caught some major criminal... I highly doubt any of this would be legal within Europe, I highly doubt this stop was legal in the UK either, though it appears at least in the UK, customs officers can enter a home without a warrant as long as they have permission from their supervisor so they do appear to have significantly more power than the standard police officer.

@@naturalblockade3412 watch the episode, in this one the first thing they say is they stop people based solely on whether or not they look ‘suspicious’ to the agents. That leaves so much room for prejudice, both unconscious and purposeful. Think about it, if a certain group or ethnicity of persons is deemed more ‘suspicious’ for the simple fact that they look that way, then more of that ethnicity will be found and deported and ethnicities the agent views as ‘normal’ or not suspicious will not be checked as much and will have less deportations. It’s obvious how horrible this way of handling this is. @@jlee739 no, "essentially" is racism. Profiling people according to race and looks it's illegal for a reason, according to the same set of laws that defines the "illegal" immigration that you mention. I bet it's easy to not see a problem with it when you are never one to be stopped for your looks.

@@jlee739 in this case is no "card", it's just what it is. If you have a problem with the concept because you think racism doesn't exist it's your problem, but it doesn't make it disappear.

I and my brothers were taught by our father to mind the authorities if stopped and questioned... just answer, be calm, and call him when the opportunity arises ... Simple... irritating? Yes... but doable...
