And so by request a time lapse video of me actually welding and yes I do it myself :-) it is not a "welding double"
I must say the air fed mask and the exceptional viewing area has made my life a whole lot easier and healthier, even in that space which is reasonable, somewhere between a single and double garage the fumes can linger. Not a hint of burned coatings, underseal or any other nasties and there was plenty.

I take it this mask isn't running off a compressor John? (can't see a hose). I have an air-fed mask (for painting 2K) and it uses up a hell of a lot of air

Yes, self contained and I had scratched my head wondering if I could detach the welding filter and use it for paint as well :-) as your right, my old devilbiss MPV as well as getting too expensive for consumables for once or twice a year use needs decent air flow, I have to use a separate air line for it rather than the loop. I bought a separate compressor to put outside the work-area to pull in clean(er) air for the mask but it wasn't big enough for more than about 6 mins spraying then an alarm goes off on the belt you need to jump out the workshop, wait on compressor pumping up again, then get back in with mask etc and try to pick up where you left off then the alarm goes off again 🙄I bought 2 more compressors hoping I could manifold them all together to get more air but all that seems to happen is one empties and the other ones fill up the empty one. I think perhaps need one-way valves (if such a thing exists) so that you have 2 or 3 feeding tool at same time using less air from each one @@hillmanimprestoration

That is terrible, not seen that but I have no alarm on the older mask, I only have one compressor and its only 14cfm with 100L tank, gun wise mine are all smaller HVLP ones as I am not in a hurry and not skilled enough to lay it on thick. Gun wise I have a couple of SLG with 1.4 and 1.0 setups
