Good evening from the cooling off south Okanagan, thanks for another video. The comment about "cross ditches" brought back a lot of memories of my late father's intense dislike for what we call "water bars" out this way. He was normally quite a mellow, mild man, but water bars got him going more than anything else I can recall. The drone shots are again wonderful, as is the overall editing. Safe travels and good building you two.

I have a Wildernest on my 04 Tacoma and I love it! I agree with it being a three or dry season camping option in the PNW, as it isn't ideal in the wet season since it's not ideal to put it away when the canvas is wet. If you pack it up wet and head home then you need dry weather or a big garage / barn to open it up in to dry, otherwise it will get mildew all over it. I use a Mr. Heater Buddy propane heater on cold nights and it gets it warm pretty quick, but I'm considering upgrading to a diesel heater or a mini wood stove. There's a few KZbin videos of guys who installed mini wood stoves in their Wildernests, but they had to put a hole in the roof canvas for the chimney.
@ToyotaWorldRunners2 ай бұрын
You get it! Haha it’s hard to explain to people that have never owned one, and only see the exterior aesthetics. It’s so dang nice to look at, but yes, packing away wet canvas onto your bedding and then bringing it home is ick.

That's one thing this video really highlights- how important approaching departure angles are when off-roading. That's where Jeeps (and early Land Rover Defenders) really have an edge and why the Gladiator gets off-road grief- it has a terrible departure angle- Jeeps can get the front tires actually out in front of the bumper altogether with the right sizing and that makes them able to crawl over nearly everthing and through ditches like that pretty easily. I have an old Land Rover Discovery and it's angles have the same problems as your Toyots's- my next off-road rig will almost definitely be a Jeep because of that.
@ToyotaWorldRunners2 ай бұрын
Totally! They play a huge role in off-road capabilities.

Make your own BBQ sauce. Ketchup, brown sugar minced onions, minced garlic, mustard, tabasco sauce, worcestershire, and a tiny bit of liquid smoke in a sauce pan, simmer for 1/2 hour. Play with the ingredients till you get the flavor you want. You can then market your sauce.

That wildernest just needs a new canvas top/cover. I know a guy down South Island that could do it. Would be epic 👌🏼
@ToyotaWorldRunners2 ай бұрын
Would he do it for less than 4,000? That’s the lowest we’ve been quoted! The problem with how much canvas there is, is the amount of water that sits on your bedding every time you fold it back up.
