Hey, Passport heavy so glad to see you back. I was wondering where did you go. I really appreciate this video so much because you shared with us a very private part of your life of the struggle you had growing up and how we can relate in some type of way. This was very inspiring to us that no matter how your childhood or life has been that you can pick yourself up and rise above it all. Thank you so much for sharing and even though I don't know you personally. I am very very proud of you my brother ✊🏾✊🏾 and much love and congratulations

Life sometimes brings Lemons (divorce, losing 1 of my 3 jobs, lonliness), but nothing like this should hold anyone back from achieving their dreams. With this in mind... I SOLD everything in the USA (well... except for my 2004 Chevy pickup truck) and moved to a remote island in the South Pacific. I was broke, but I knew if I worked smart that I could make my dreams become reality... and we did. Now we have a multi acre organic farm, caring friends, and a beautiful home alongside the ocean. It's Like Winning the Lottery.

People have been talking about investing in Belize for more than 20 years. There have been A LOT of issues in Belize for just as many years including clear title fraud, escrow fraud, a corrupt government, corrupt police. There’s also a major issue with squatters because of the low income and lack of income of many locals. The government often sides with the locals so as a foreigner, good luck getting those squatters off your property! Belize is not some unknown land. People have known about Belize for many years, but the negatives often outweigh the benefits of investing there.

Let's give Shyne the credit he deserves. It was him who reached out to his celebrity friends like Diddy and others to visit the country a few years ago, and that's when Belize really started seeing a greater turnaround in tourism. Big shout out to Jabril for the videos. He took us into the beauty of the country. I went there back in the early 2,000s and stayed in Belize city, then visited Belmapon. It's amazing to see what it is now becoming.

Great video, I have 3 properties in Belize. Largest is 50 acers. I purchased many years ago. My wife and I lived in Honduras and she had family in Belize., so we purchased a 50 acer farm/ranch. We lived thier for a little under 2 years. For me it just got a little dangerous living there. Once people knew you, and found out you had a little money, the word would spread to the bad elements of the island. I personally got tipped off of a kidnapping by a nice family who would work on the land. Found out that the criminals was planning it out for months. So unfortunately we had to move from Belize, that stinks and I'm sure you don't want to hear it, but thats the truth. I would visit a nice resort but I wouldn't live there again. But I'm holding on to the properties, because it's only going up and they are paid years ago. Take care. Hawk.

I have been looking in Belize many years ago and finally decided for the Mexican Costa Maya just up North from Belize. Still a very quiet strech of 100 Km of beach just beneath of the Siaan Kaan jungle preserve, reefs are as nice as in Belize and México Government does not allow big constructions in order to preserve nature. But now Iam going to retire and have 2 lots for sale there for a lower Price than whay you will pay in Belize. New Airport is under construction in Tulum which cuts travel time under 2 hours and flights are much more frequent and cheaper than flying into Belize

I know so much more about things she had no idea about. I'm grateful to have learned about Belize through my wife. Been going for about 12 years now. The legacy word you mentioned is huge. A few years ago, we had a discussion about leaving ours with more than our parents were able to leave for us.. As a result, about 4 years ago after hitting up Will and Dennis Kay for info, we made the plunge and bought a lot in Secret Beach. Even roped friends into one. Now we have lots in SB and just south of Mahogany Bay. I SMH every day about the appreciation over the last few years. You found a great country to own in! Keep spreading the word!

1. It is English Speaking = True 2. Natural Beauty = True 3. Land Purchase - Taxes - Pro-business = I Do Not know, I did go there looking AT land but, after I saw more of the entire picture - no. What he isn't saying - and this is not a reflection of the people (directly) but, it is a fact. Belize is a 3rd world country. They asked England for their independence and it was granted in Sept 1981. Nothing, nothing has been upgraded nor properly maintained since. If you have ever visited, or lived, in a 3rd world country you will notice what is called "Island Time" which means, don't plan on anything getting done as fast nor as well as in a country that has solid and stable electricity. Because they didn't. Building / Construction Codes - nope. Electrical and Plumbing Codes- nope. Low Crime rates - nope. Safe roads - nope. Driver's License - Pfft - suuure thing. The Capitol used to be in Belize City but, because the crime was so bad, dignitaries refused to visit. The government HAD to move the Capital to Belmopan, 79.0 Km / 1 hour 7 minutes a way. I walked in more than those two cities and EVERYwhere I went (cities) smelled like an Porta-Potty / open sewage. Just like in Cairo, Egypt, I don't think they have a word for garbage dump except, the ground around me. I went there to look at property and the property was priced very reasonable however, there is ZERO infrastructure there. The people that lived in the countryside / jungle were the very best and supper nice, no city looked nor felt safe. I'm 6'3" - 250 - 20 military and I felt safer walking thru "desert cities" than here. Granted, being armed and armoured makes a difference but, you get my point. I went to the U.S. Embassy to look for possible work (meh) and learned that the Belize government was seriously considering asking England to come back because they figured out they are incapable of Self Government. Something about all of the usual 3rd world things you hear - corruption, bribes, etc. It seems at this point nothing has come of that but, the idea was considered. Lastly, I stayed in several places, my last was in the Corozal, very far north. The couple who owned the very nice hotel - restaurant - mini resort, he was from US and she was from Canada were great! She made a monthly trip, the "supply run" she called it, across the northern border into Chetumal, Mexico to visit the WalMart there. When you have to go to Mexico to upgrade your shopping, what does that tell you? There are Expat populated neighborhoods - areas so, if you are going to buy there ..... totally visit with EYES wide open, not Fantasy - that's not that big of a deal, attitude.

Belize has a very corrupt government and police force. You might think the US is so bad but just wait until YOU are the foreigner in a corrupt country. Title fraud, escrow fraud, and corrupt government officials run rampant in Belize. If you have a dispute with a local, as a foreigner, you will likely lose because they take care of their own first. Belize has been trying for 20 or more years to get American dollars but ultimately the corruption has kept people away. Be sure to protect yourself as much as possible. Just remember, The United States Constitution means absolutely nothing to Belizean officials. Good luck.

I’ve been seeing these propaganda videos promoting Belize for many years. As you probably know, the prices that they are quoting are complete b.s. A corrupt government and police force are also not good for foreigners.

I was there a few weeks ago and Marriott is building a huge hotel complex right there on the beach in San Pedro. It's unfortunate that the govt of San Pedro is allowing the island to lose what made it unique. The Island had a certain "thing" that made it special. Now I fear it'll be just like every other island that Americans and Corp interest go in and destroy. It's sad really.

I’m so happy for you lol we just went to Belize last month. After watching a YT video by Eryn Krouse of nothing but footage of Belize’s jungles and oceans I searched Belize travel and your PH video showed up. After watching, it was a done deal and I planned a vacation out here. Can’t wait to bring back my family.

Jubril, love your video and the excitement you have, I am sure you would be awesome to be on vacation with. We have been to Belize for the last two years and stayed at Mahogany Bay both times. We have good friends that go there on the regular (2-3) times a year for the last 10 years or so. I can't speak to what Belize mainland is like as we have only landed and taken the puddle jumper over to Ambergris Cay. As far as safety goes, we have always felt comfortable there on the island. We have taken our family (young twenty's and teenage kids). That being said we use common sense, we're not out at 3 a.m. in an area we don't know drunk and acting foolish. Belize is still a very third-world country in many ways, not sure I would retire there but a nice vacation spot. Like many Caribbean islands, they have been battling the ridiculous seaweed problems which don't look to be ending any time soon which does create a bit of a smelly mess on the shoreline. Not so "Secret Beach" has a really long way to go, so in my humble opinion an investment there is a decade long or better to see any significant gain. I know people get excited when they hear things like lots use to be $10,000 now they are $40,000 etc., but when that has taken 10 years to happen your ROI isn't very good. If Belize is going to be your go-to vacation spot, sure maybe I would buy something there that I can use and rent the rest of the time, but building there is super slow which is to be expected so unless you're buying a rent-ready house/condo, plan on a slow process and long hold time. As far as affordability, sure if you are buying local grocery items and cooking etc. it's reasonable, but if you are eating at restaurants or going out drinking, make sure your wallet is full as prices are as high as any restaurant in the states, $8-$12 for a mixed drink. They only have 3 beers on the island, none of which I care for and I love beer. You can save a good bit on your day drinking by picking up a couple bottles at the Duty-Free shop and buying some juices from the local street vendors and mixing your own in the Yeti cup you should bring with you. As far as tours go, we have only done snorkeling and fishing. The snorkeling was average, it's not Fiji, but the boat-drinking trip is fun, I hear the scuba is awesome so if you're into that this might be your spot, but then again if you scuba you probably already know that. The fishing was great and many of the resort restaurants will cook up your catch for you for lunch or dinner which is great. The main item I don't like about Belize is they don't really have those white-sand beaches with waves crashing in (if you have been to Cancun, it isn't that, not even close). The water is awesome, but the barrier reef breaks all the wave action thus no sand getting deposited. Secret Beach is more of a bayside "beach" where you can lay out on a lounger or stand in the water drinking. The bottom line of all the islands I have been to in the Bahamas, Caribbean etc., I would rank Belize about a 6-7. I love the laid-back feel of the place, love the golf carts (they should ban cars on the island altogether), and a few too many speed bumps IMO though. I think if I spent more than 2 weeks there I would be bored to death. IMO it's a great 4-5 day vacation spot every couple of years.

Belize has a very high crime rate to include violent crimes like murder, assault, and rape. The U.S. issued a travel advisory in 2022 indicating Americans should avoid Belize City. Moving out of the U.S. can sound very appealing, but you better know what you are getting in to....... from local crime to property rights and medical facilities.

Hey Heavy Median house price in Jackson Hole or Aspen is about 7k. That is a 3000sq ft tract house on 1/4 acre. "Best house in the valley?" Comparable to the 3 mil "best in Belize" that you showed? 25-50 million!

I grew up in Chicago as well; I'm from East Chicago Heights (a.k.a Ford Heights), whew chile... If you know, you know! I didn't need to see the info section to know this was Belize immediately! I have friends from here, and I have visited. It is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL!!! The people in Belize are beautiful inside and out, super friendly, and their food is amazing. They have fantastic beaches. They have crime, and you must be selective about where you live, but Belize is most def beautiful. I love the Garifuna people!

I would love to review the video link when it’s ready. Thanks again 0:00

Belize has been putting out these “propaganda” videos for more than 20 years claiming that Belize is the next hot thing. Belize is full of title scams, escrow scams, corrupt police and a very corrupt government. This video totally feels like the Belize infomercials that have been playing on American TV for years. The prices are complete bs and the building restrictions can end up costing lots of money. Don’t believe the hype…or these paid promotion videos.

Beautiful video, but sad that most of the locals won't be able to live in the beautiful country they loved because of so many expats buying "cheap" real estate. It's one thing to move domestically and abroad and not affect the cost of living for locals, and it's another thing to do this.

Appreciate this comment and I hear you, tourism and investment is changing local peoples lives for better and worse - it’s a fact. We’ve seen this all over the world, particularly in Bali where we’ve spent so much time over the last 10 years and it is complex. For many locals we spoke with the surge in tourism and foreign investment created opportunities and industries that simply didn’t exist before and enabled them to put food on the table to the other end of the scale acquire more land, multiple businesses with hundreds of employees that were previously working horrendously low paid jobs or not employed at all and literally starving. Separate to the conversation above but super fascinating to us - We had dinner last week after an event with a group of strangers & their conversation was around African Americans, Afro Caribbean people who’s ancestors were taken on slave ships to the Caribbean / Americas and records erased. One of the ladies at the table asked the other directly “Why are you investing where the slave ship dropped you off”. The table was silenced & everyone just sat there stunned. Appreciate you sharing.

Happens all over the world. Even in US, case in point…Florida. I think the solution is to make sure there is investment in the local community to preserve the culture and peoples.

@@PassportHeavy "Why are you investing where the slave ship dropped you off” - what an ignorant thing to say! That was ages ago and you are not slaves and you are not your ancestors from generations ago. If everybody around the world talked the way Americans do about their history, nobody would visit any place. The entire world has a horrible history, but then here we are today, living in this beautiful world.
