I'm 65 years old and I still have a high pitched speaking voice. My late mother had a high speaking voice until she was in her 80s. It's inherited. I have a niece who is in her 40s and she still has a high pitched speaking voice. It happens. I also inherited a great lack of gray hair from my English mother along with a minimum amount of wrinkles on my face. Strangers keep thinking that I'm in my 40s or 50s.

You can train your voice to be deeper. High-pitched voices really grate on people's nerves. See a speech pathologist for help.

That episode is airing on Buzzr right now. I also wondered whatever happened to Phil Ford and Mimi Hines. So I went online just to find out. Sadly, Phil Ford and Mimi Hines got divorced in 1972. Phil Ford passed away in 2005, but Mimi Hines is still living. She's now in her mid 80's and she's still performing today.

I don’t remember these celebrities. I was born in 1954. But I just read an article about them. Sounds like they were great people. He was even the military when they stormed Normandy. 🦅

@13:12 You have to be quite dumb to confuse Pliers for Pillars. Worse than that, all Allen said is "You put the L in the wrong place". He could be quite stupid at times.

Allen Ludden was really annoying in the first five minutes of this episode with his non-stop "five seconds, five seconds."
@markgaston4416
@markgaston4416 7 ай бұрын
I really think part of the reason Allen did it here is because both groups struggled to give a clue for the word. He wanted to move things along to increase more overall word play. It is something I noticed over time. I saw preceding episodes from this week. The play overall was not the sharpest, according to my memory. A similar week of panelist struggles could be found in 1967 with Connie Stevens & Dick Shawn. Not the best week of play.

the only reason it didn't continue after 5 minutes is that they were guessing the clues so quickly Alan didn't have time to say '5 seconds'

Mimi Hines (never heard or read of her before) was daft. She did not know what "Pliers" are. Took her a whole minute to figure out what a Baby BEAR was. Her voice is horrible. Both women contestants were good players. Phil Ford was performer but could not come up with a clue for "Actor" in the "Lightning Round". Clues could have been "Thespian", "Shakespeare", "Part", "Play", "Role".

I suspect Mimi was thinking Bare rather than Bear. Homonyms can be a problem. But there's a vast difference between pliers and pillars. And sugar was a stupid clue for cream.
