Now I know why Hitchcock chose Janet for Psycho! Those screams! Fabulous lady, one of my favourite actresses, a little eerie and puckishly beautiful, Hitchcock had real depth and perception when he cast his leading ladies always. It nearly got out of control but just teetering on the margins this episode, really enjoyable.

It is common knowledge that Alfred Hitchcock mistreated his female stars. Tippi Hedren has spoken extensively about her unpleasant experiences with him. She is still alive. He especially victimized blonde actresses, like Kim Novak, Grace Kelly, and Janet Leigh. I doubt that he thought he was doing anything wrong. He was paying them, so he felt entitled to treat them as he pleased. I wonder what his wife, Alma Reville, thought about all of this.

In fact, my generation, early '80s millennials, were the last generation to fully enjoy and appreciate the rainbow (i.e. Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Reading Rainbow, rainbow clothing, etc). And then the dreaded '90s occurred, and suddenly the colorful symbol was stolen. Disgusting! I actually miss the innocence of it all. 😔

Like when gay people were forced to stay hidden in the closet, for fear of being fired from their jobs, beaten up, or even killed, just for being who they were. Yes, a much better time, for narrow-minded, prejudiced, ignorant, frightened people like you. You can still use the word rainbow. The meaning actually refers to inclusivity, as in all colours of the rainbow. If you are going to live with a black and white 1950's mentality, do everyone a favour. Keep your poison opinions to yourself. You are not welcome in the RAINBOW.
