@Alejandro P I love how food can come with some many memories. The other day I made a chicken dish my cousin taught me how to make. It is a very easy dish to make and is very delicious but I don't make it to often. It wouldn't taste as good if you eat it all the time. Years ago I made it for a friend and she loved it. We don't see each other often. She moves around alot but when she is around we make it. It is weird that my mind doesn't go back to my cousin who taught me how to cook it. It just reminds me of my friend. Someone who understood me and was like me.

Thank you Nick for showing me how you make this dish. I have made this several times and it has become one of my favorite comfort foods in the Winter. Once I put some in a bowl, I drizzle a little bit of fine olive oil and sprinkle some freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano on it and top it off with some basil chiffonade.

I have also made this with pancetta and it is delicious. Make it your own you don't have to follow every single ingredient. Use what you like and don't use what you don't like. Recipes are only a guide. :-)

@elizabethshaw7343 жыл бұрын
I can do and I like hot Italian sausage but I have a geographic tongue so I cannot go any more hot. I would love to be able to use calabrian chili paste but no can't go there! :-). The wine is there for the alcohol soluble flavor compounds in the dish mainly tomatoes that's why vodka sauce works. Just an FYI. :-)

I don't know about this recipe. I question the amount of bell peppers. The bell peppers were overwhelming in this dish. I'll try making it with a lot less bell peppers. It wasn't bad just tasted too much bell peppers. I like to taste a little of all the favors.

I adore "good" Pasta Fagioli... I make mine pretty much like Nick does. I was out to lunch with a friend and we went to an "Italian" restaurant (a chain in the U.S. that is known for very unauthentic Italian dishes) and was VERY disappointed! It was CHILI... they called it Pasta Fagioli, but it was chili with beans and pasta in it! NEVER again!

I just watched several videos of how to make this dish and after seeing this one my search is over. The others seemed so bland and lacking ingredients. A lazy way to cook and you cannot be lazy if you want to make good food. Thank You for the education, I cannot wait to try your recipe, I can almost taste it now.

Wow Dee! We are getting set up with a financial advisor and I was wondering about whether owning a 2 story house would be a good idea in retirement. I heard you loud and clear about if I were to become single. I already do some of the DIY's and hire out much of it; at least those things hubby doesn't have time or wants to do. I appreciate your insights. I also have a sister who lives in a crappy house trailer but she cannot afford to move because our parents live next door and our dad is her "handyman". He is 76 and she is 53. He would get mightily offended if she hired someone else to do anything. She just told me that she borrowed all of her 401k to pay her oil bills over the past number of years. She is working to pay it back. I am very concerned but she isn't. So, I have 2 questions: 1. Should downsizing be on the menu for me since I live in a 2 story house right now (I am 55)? 2. Is there anything you can recommend for my sister. She is single, lives in a bad house trailer and paying back her 401k and all her usual expenses?

Sorry Nick. My sister met you in person, and you she smilingly told you she also was Sicilian, you shunned and ignored her. Where was your sickly sweet smile and make believe friendliness then? Your ego is SO outsized that your show and videos are UNWATCHABLE. You give us Sicilian Americans a bad name. STOP IT!
