People moaning about how there's no new great artists out there just aren't looking hard enough. Turn off the top 40 radio, put away your mainstream music mags and start digging! There are some straight up geniuses keeping the blues, soul and even hip-hop alive! I am loving this sound, a collaboration of blues and jazz transitioning seamlessly throughout each song. The talent these guys show at such young ages make me furious with my life choices!
@MaynardOwns6 жыл бұрын
Yeah their points are always missing a key word. Mainstream music. If you dig deep there is plenty of amazing shit around, maybe more so than ever before.

I hear you brother.... at the crossroads of my life I bowed to the pressure of the family life (not that there's anything wrong with that) BUT if only i'd followed my true passion... music .... sigh... 30 years later and I'm going to see this young genius tonight in Sydney... woot! can't wait... If i didn't live the dream myself, I can sure bask in the light of people that are.. yes, you have to dig... but the treasures you can find are endless... and Marcus is one of them...

I’m a rock n’ roller but there is a tone of raw outlaw country and fantastic bluegrass that is swept aside too. Tyler Childers and Colter Wall for country and Mandolin Orange in bluegrass are just a few worth checking out. I think Chris Stapleton is mainstream enough now

Holy shit, I just stumbled on this and while I was waiting for the song to start I thought, yeah, yeah, another kid (21 at the time of this video) wannabe blues artist - maybe another SRV clone or something... but YIKES! Tasty mature guitar right off the bat, a soulful voice, and a mature songwriting style, with R&B and soul influences. He's like a 40 year old seasoned artist in a 21 year old's body. Hearing his voice was like the first time hearing Johnny Lang - waaayyy beyond his years. He's the genuine article.
