I’ve been there in those relationships and I’ve done that. As a response to the other messages on this thread, I’ve tried being with people who frustrate/challenge me and it’s still not what I want. Luckily I’ve found a soulmate in a married friend. And he gives me all I seem to need at this time in my life. My advice to you Angela, is just be patient. At least try. You’ll meet the person who fulfills your life whether it’s someone who is only ever going to be your friend, or something more. I know I’d like to have what I get from my best friend with a romantic partner. But that’s not the case for me and hasn’t been for years now. Thankfully I have my friend in my life so I’m not always thinking about the what if’s. It took me 23 years to meet someone I don’t lose interest in. Now I’m 30 and we have a long distance but very alive friendship. It can and it does happen.

Love her, her album is great. When you get to my age, 50+, and you have been listening to music for so long every time you hear a great new song the first couple of times you listen to it you think, ah that bit sounds like x, or that bit sounds like y, then when you get to know the song it just sounds like the song and you don't hear those other songs in it any more, I described that really badly BTW, but anyway there is a wee bit in this, just a couple of notes that sound like something else and it has been bugging me for days and I just realised it's Silent Sigh by Damon Gough.

This song, and more so, this version, is something else. The music is like a weighted blanket that just pins you down with an assortment of emotions, some of which are so quick to bog you down, that you are left with no choice but to let the track take over, while you lie down and reflect on what it triggers within - an inexplicable sense of agony, garnished with the most pompous glee.
