@@puregameplay7916 That is correct, but the law aside, many consider it unethical if the age gap is so large. It would at the very least be considered very weird and creepy, especially from a pastor. It's the pastors, it's the ones that want to go up and testify the most. I was called to Christ about twenty years ago, but I also started working at the county jail. The number of church folk I saw come in and out of there was horrible, the things they were doing showed that they were not following what they preached. I believe now that was a test of my conviction and I failed. I denied myself a relationship with God because of what I saw others doing, the same ones that prayed with me and laid their hands on my head. I feel that calling again and pray that my character is strong enough this time, whatever test may come.

That's catholic, or some other church that functions like catholics. In most churches, if you committed adultery but repented, you can still be a pastor. As long as it doesn't effect the church in a negative way. However churches like the Catholic Church, have all these rules and regulations that are more about business than worship. A recent priest has been saying lines wrong when baptising. So all these people think they aren't saved anymore because of a simple mistake. Dumb A lot of people think of Catholics when they hear christain. But really most christain churches in the US don't like Catholics. Not the people, just their beliefs. They have idols that step between them and God. A lot of abuse happens in the catholic church too. Bad rep for christains

@@lalotime The Catholic Church, being the oldest institution in the world, with over a billion members across the globe, necessarily has an extensive Code of Canon Law that, ideally, guarantees a degree of oversight and provides channels for conducting business and addressing abuses. However, the form of the Sacrament of Baptism is not a matter of canon law; it is a matter of sacramental theology. So you are wrong to connect the baptismal formula with "rules and regulations that are more about business than worship." On the contrary, the sacrament itself depends in part upon the proper words being said, which principle may be seen in embryo in the New Testament; the baptismal font is not the place for personal ingenuity. The priest in question did not make a "simple mistake"; regardless of his intentions he was either extremely careless or willfully disrespectful of the Church's instructions. Finally, to say that the invalidly baptized are not "save[d]" is to misunderstand the Catholic doctrines concerning salvation, which see a more or less gradual human progress toward beatitude, in cooperation with the divine grace normatively received at Baptism. In other words, if you're going to call something "dumb," I suggest understanding it first.

Oh my God. You’re fucking right. His tone of voice was not repentant, it was declaratory. It was like saying what he ate from breakfast. He didn’t care. You’re so fucking right. Underrated comment. He kept defending himself and correcting the people in the audience. If he really was sorry he wouldn’t have been able to stand on that stage or look the members of the crowd in the eyes. He probably would have resigned weeks prior if he actually had been convicted of his crime. But no. He didn’t care. He was anxious he’d be ratted out like you said. This makes me so sick to my stomach, having grown up in church this kind of thing could have happened and I wouldn’t have known what to have done as a kid. This makes me so sick how twisted they use the scripture. It makes me sick to my stomach to see how they disregard justice just to save face and appear godly. Using “forgiveness” as a means to sweep it under the rug and dismiss the whole thing of responsibly for his crimes. 100% fucking pure evil. God has a special place in hell for this guy. That’s biblically endorsed too. Just read Matthew 23. Jesus literally would be disgusted and condemn these kinds of people. Half of Jesus’ ministry was **against** the so called “Pastors” of his day and age, the Pharisees and Sadducees. He literally warns people to “do what they teach you but not what they do” because he wanted to make a distinction between actually following the law and acting unjustly and lawlessly as the hypocritical teachers would do. If Jesus was around today I bet he would fucking disown Christianity. 100% These fucking hypocrites defend their faith more then they do their fellow man. Disgusting what people will do when you dangle eternal life on a string in front of them.

I grew up in a church setting and have come to realize that some groups appreciate when a “leader” is honest with them about things they have done. For example I had a pastor who would tell us every week the struggles he went through in life (because everyone struggles) and then he would connect it to a reading. It was nice because it showed us that he was not above us like some pastors seem to think but that he shared in our common problems in life as well. Then again he also wasn’t a horrible person and SA or groomed a 16 year old, then covered it up. So I’m not trying to defend this gross “leader” of the church, but I can see how his members of the church were thinking that he was going to be an upstanding man and admit his struggles. I would not cheer at all if my pastor had confessed to “committing adultery” in the first place, let alone finding out what really happened though. The thought of cheering for something that people see as a sin and considered morally wrong is gross. I hope this didn’t come off too preachy, as I wanted to share my thoughts on how the members possibly thought or saw the situation before revealing the truth. I’m also not defending anything this “pastor” and “man of god” did because that’s not what a true man or human being would do to another one.

I once had a pastor who told me that he once had a woman come to him and basically admit that her husband was viciously abusing her, and she wanted to seek religious guidance since she believed that men were to be the head of the household. The pastor immediately called the cops and the husband was arrested. I wish there were more pastors who could separate from religion just for a second to do the right thing. So many of these people use it as a way to abuse their position of power. edit: As many people have said, it was a poor choice of words to say "separate from religion." This specifically referenced how people use religion as a shield to do whatever they want.

I agree, she's strong for it, and the act would be hard for many people. Some people are capable of dealing with extremely stressful near death situations in some places of their life, and can still have a fear of presenting information in front of crowds. Some people don't have the ability to deal with those near death situations, but have no fear of presenting information in front of crowds. It's all too complex and interwoven. To put down one persons weakness is to insult another person they would potentially have considered strong. By that I mean, if I were to mock someone for fear of public speaking because I don't have it, I would be unintentionally mocking other people I respect who share that fear. There are so many soldiers out there who could easily physically smack me around like a fish, who incidentally happen to have that fear, just because of how life played out for them. So many people with various respectable qualities. So many in fact, that it would be statistically impossible for me not to end up throwing the insult towards one of those soldiers, if i were to call someone weak for that flaw alone. Humans are extremely complicated and multi-layered creatures, and it's a good thing we're largely past the time of reductive, simplistic points of view such as "people are all cruel". Or "people just live a soft life", right?

@@Mr12Relic I hate that so much, people will hold onto State ages of consent as if the federal age of consent isn't 18 for a very good reason, and as if that somehow makes it any less creepy. @Person01234

@@PistenDeer It's not. The vast majority of countries and US states choose 14, 15 or 16. The US federal government didn't magically get the right age over everyone else, nor did california. Your cultural norms are YOUR cultural norms. What's sleazy is that this relatively old man manipulated and abused this young girl from a position of power into having sex with him. Just because the age of consent is 16 doesn't mean "relationships" like this shouldn't be heavily scrutinised, Age of Consent doesn't actually matter that much in itself because even when it's lower you don't get a big rush of teenagers wanting to have sex with middle aged men and women. I think quite clearly age of consent or not, there wasn't consent here. As the replier states, the guy wants to make sure it's 16 because 16 is not underage where he's at and he won't face statutory charges. This would force her to prove rape rather than just sex (the latter of which he's admitted to).

@@Person01234 A lot of countries with age of consent below 18 specify that if someone under 18 has sex with someone that's over 18 it could still be classified as a crime even if the underage person consented.

@@Mr12Relic statutory works anyway, age of consent (if it's under 18) usually means with *other people who are under 18*. 16 yr old with a 30yr old is still (statutory) rape

they should have crowded around the victim and prayed over her... why does the abuser always get the loving forgiveness and the victim never gets the love for there pain in situations like this?

This type of “forgiveness” mindset is so sick. I’ve had a close family member who was abused as a teen, and that man still was forgiven and accepted in church. A crime is a crime. And if it happens again, and it almost always does, it’s too late for it to get the punishment it deserves.

Well of course it may depend on the crime that was committed. Sezual abuse or misconduct however is unacceptable.

Hey guys it’s critical: Today we are taking yet another clip from my live stream watching a KZbin video that someone else made and getting millions view for very little I add with my boring and dry tired voice. Also for the comedic effect I will stretch the image on the KZbin thumbnail for the billionth time. Please laugh !!!

that is how religion works. pray for forgiveness, forget, rinse and keep doing you sickly deeds. Nobody cares what terrible crimes you commit if you're part of religion. even my grandpa, completely catholic. is a terrible sick, abusive man. but he's religious so it is alright to those around. gross isn't it, well I suppose that's how the world works nowadays.
