I disagreed when the host said it's just words on paper. John 1-3 says... *In the beginning was the Word & the Word was with God & the Word was God* Very old bibles, including my great-grandmothers' bible, the cover read: The Living Bible. Man, once again, changed the original bible cover. So it's not 'just words on paper'. The Word of God is alive & it breathes life to all those who believe & live it.

The Holy Spirit gives the revelation that is needed to understand the scripture not a prop. The sacred scriptures interpret on its own. And it’s actually blasphemy to the Holy Spirit. Let me tell you why, because a lot of people try to be Holy Spirit, do the work of the Holy Spirit, in other words, they try to give the revelation to man when that is only done by the Holy Spirit again people stop trying to be the Holy Spirit that is blasphemy. And when you don’t understand the Holy Scriptures, pray about it, ask God to give you understanding and to reveal it to you, and in Gods time He will. We don’t save people Jesus save people! Remember this was the same generation that said the church needs to change to draw people. And now that these Pastors are doing what was asked, now we want to back pedal and become so spiritual to say now these requirements are wrong. At this point: decide on the struggle. Do you want to be entertained or do you want to know the truth? Do you want God for real, or just the benefits of knowing God? Please make it make sense!!!

God said it doesn’t matter what we eat or drink because what goes in the stomach comes out. It’s about what goes in our hearts (Mark 7: 18-20). Does that mean we eat whatever? It means we ask God for wisdom about what’s good for us. Physical health is important but spiritual health is most important. God wants us to be healthy in our mind, bodies and soul. Y'all outside looking in, y'all don't know the motives us this heart. I like it, I think we religify the Bible to much. Live it. I would do it to, to express a point. When you grow to a certain level of understanding with God, it would be nothing. God likes obedience better than sacrifice, point, blank, and plain. We celebrate all these holidays and God is not any of it. That is other gods who sacrifice and do rituals, holidays are evil, but the devil makes it looks beautiful, so we think it's ok to do it. God says be in the world, but not of it. We pick and choose what in the Bible we choose to look over.

My boss looked at me and was like “I don’t want to rip it”….I said to him you don’t want to rip it, but you don’t want to live it? lol” he kind of chuckled and we moved on. Point of the story is a lot of us grew up learning to “respect” the house and it’s things more than actually genuinely living. We would be punished for leaving gum, trash or sitting a bible anywhere. While I still hold these standards, i also recognize these is a learned behavior. Everything tanglable on this earth is going to pass away. God is got to burn it all up in the end . Honestly, are we upset about how him shedding light on the truth of what we do in our hearts sometimes as Christians. He’s preaching and to get his word across, he can very be practical I get it. But look at it this way. All he’s trying to demonstrate is We stain the Bible everyday with our sin and disobedience. Some of us leave bibles on a dusty book shelves. We don’t even touch our bibles. ??? He’s demonstrating a message to the T, so we can be honest, open and transparent about our lives. Instead of us to take the actual message, we are debating on the way it was delivered. Did his message lie though? Is it to drive people away from the kingdom of God? 1 Corinthians 1:27-31 NIV But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. The syrup on the Bible is not to disrespect God or his word but it was to demonstrate how we honestly can sometimes treat our Christian walk and take our relationship with God for granted sometimes. If you can honestly say you’ve never been guilty of this, by all means cast the first stone. Let’s remember to focus on the fruit. His message isn’t sending people to pour syrup on bibles. Shalom.

I get the whole “well it’s just a book we shouldn’t be superstitious about it” kind of thing. But I agree with what was said about the people in India who were so excited to receive a bible. People often forget the history that there are individuals who gave their lives so we could read the scriptures in our own languages. I teach high school students and they often carelessly treat our bibles in a certain way that destroys them and I’m always having to remind them that’s not how to treat a book that literally is worth so much. Also any illustration no matter how powerful has a temporary hold over people. God’s word is eternal and if you’ve never seen someone who has never read the word of God (which I have experienced people in America do) read it for the first time and get excited about the simple truths we all take for granted, you would never think to desecrate even one amazing book for the sake of an illustration because you would be too busy trying to find more people to share it with.

While I think pouring syrup on the Bible was a bit over the top. Sean has a point and it’s proven through people’s reaction to what Mike Todd did. People get so gung-ho and upset about someone pouring syrup on the Bible and then we will compare our prospects in America to those in other countries as if we would have that same zeal ourselves. But the truth is though, that nobody is perfect and mistakes are made. Even for us who have such access to the Bible in our country, we also see the fruit of that as well - so it only makes sense that a lot of people don’t take it serious. However, the point still stands: Do we become outraged because we respect God? Or are we like that because it offends the traditions and ideals that we have developed as a part of our Western Christian Culture? And if so, then why not also get mad like that when someone fails to Love Their Neighbor. Or Someone hates their brother? You know.

Bread and wine is just bread and wine, but bread and wine during holy communion is not just bread and wine, that's the body and blood of our Lord. The bible is just words on paper, but the bible to a God fearing and loving believer, that is God's word. Your wife is just a woman just like any other woman, but once you marry her, she is not just any other woman. Everybody has symbols, that is why humans are so prone to idolatry. Symbols have meaning. Christianity as well should have sacred symbols. I heard Derek Prince say the charismatic churches are guilty of being flippant, Mike did exactly that in this demonstration ironically. We are so casual about everything, I believe that is why devils come to church as well.

The Spirit led Ezekiel to eat dung to demonstrate things to the people. Was that not extreme ? This may not be necessary for you but it might have been necessary for someone else.Everybody will not agree with how we present the Word of Truth. They didn't agree with Jesus. That is fearful thinking. It is also a "slippery slope" as someone said .

Can you give me the Bible verse where Ezekiel ate dung, because I never saw that.
@tableauxofficial78957 ай бұрын
@@ericunderwood6520 check out Ezekiel 4:9-25 Ezekiel never ate any dung. God gave Ezekiel all the ingredients to make bread and use his own dung "as fuel" to bake it. during the time of being under siege (Babylon was over taking Judah ) Ezekiel made the dough God gave him instruction on. God shows favor to Ezekiel in vs. 15 by giving Ezekiel cow dung to use instead. It did seem gross at first but it also shows Gods mighty hand during your time of duress. He always provides for His children; when we love Him!

@@ericunderwood6520 He was told to use human dung to bake the bread, but after protesting God told him to use cow dung. To try using either to bake bread will give the savour and flavour of dung. How extreme do we think that is?

His point was valid and powerful but too much.

These things are done with such arrogance and disrespect,that true 'worshipper should walk out! He does not determine how God should be worshipped! Cut out the crab,sit down,repent! Blessings

9:51 ppl need visuals. Some ppl take clips and criticize. I don’t follow Todd bc I don’t agree with him but I agree with the brother that understood his point.

That is blatant disrespect to the word of God, we have Gods spirit within us and our temples are to be respected but we also have Gods word as a guide in the Bible. It’s not just ink on paper because it is what God said and how he lived and guidelines for us to be able to lead Christian lives that align with his will. If someone took syrup to your favorite shoes you would be angered by this. The gasp of the crowd in my opinion has less to do with idolizing the text and more to do with the weight of disrespecting the word of God. You can make the case that you can just get another Bible but it’s the principle behind the representation of what those words on that page mean to us as Christian’s. The Bible is a text that should be respected because it is Gods word, no need to pour syrup on it or throw it on the ground to make a point. Visually it shows that he does not respect the word of God in my eyes. The book that he poured syrup on is supposed to be the whole foundation for what he preaches on. The Holy Spirit guides us but the Bible teaches us the ways of the Lord, it should be respected.

I always loved Pastor Todd’s sermons because they really resonate with my life. But his examples are too extreme for me. Some of his demonstrations I understand like this one I get what he was saying but over the top.
