I think hiss issue is not just not being able to feel God or understand him but rather the logical conclusion that in hard reality there is no God. Even if you choose to believe something doesn't mean it's true. I could have faith that I'll never get cancer and that gives me zero immunity to it. People wrote the Bible there's no actual proof of God. Nothing. To me there's a big difference between faith and reality I believed in God til I was 13 but to me its like believing for years that daddy just went to buy cigarettes and will be back soon. It gives you hope but when you look at it with a critical eye you'll find you've been lying to yourself to feel better. Now that's something I'd like to have an answer to if God is not just in your head why is there no logic argument against what I said? And just because faith helped you doesn't mean you have the actual truth or that God did anything. The faith in something good itself did it that's basic psychology. But I think religion is following a made up ancient story rather then searching for how it really is so that might be the reason why it sounds like 2 different conversations everytime I ask this. It's just a different way of thinking religious people don't even seem to interpret my questions anywhere close to what I was asking Sorry for the ramble noones gonna read this anyway

Exactly what I thought after every explanation. Pastor said Hopsin at the start wanted God to find him. Pastor said he needed to search for God. Then Rest of the song Hopsin says just how much he has done, and that hes done everything he could, and still hasnt seen a sign of evidence. Pastors response is that hes trying to do everything himself. Between waiting for God, and Doing everything yourself, when was God supposed to show up. I grew up Christian and slowly lost faith as I got older. I always want to believe in christianity, but my mind just doesn't. Pastor said other religions have parts of the answer, Christianity has all the answers. Thats what the other religions would say about Christianity, making them no different. Hopsin makes tough, valid points, and questions that i felt were unanswered.

I've asked my pastor many questions about Christianity, usually critical of the bible and of faith, and it actually made him happy I was putting my faith to the test. He was welcoming, and glad to answer. I'm not sure how you got that image of Christianity, but its far cry from what it really is.

@@kjorndogg3244 sounds like you've got a pretty great pastor, I've known quite a few who shunned people for asking questions. here's a question for your pastor, because I've never gotten a good answer to this. Why did God allow the Israelite people, his children, to own slaves? I'm not talking indentured servitude (that existed too, but if you dig into the old testament, it becomes clear that both indentured servitude and slavery were practiced, servitude was for other Israelites, slavery was reserved for non-israelites, aka foreigners from nearby countries). Leviticus 25:44-46 depicts the real slavery of the bible, even telling the Israelites that you can pass them onto your children as inheritance, and own them for life. Please, I've never gotten an answer to this question and I've wondered for years.

This song is EXACTLY how I've felt for years. I've looked. I've searched for years. I was addicted to drugs for years and towards the end when I was seeking sobriety and God I found my sobriety but not God. This track takes the words right out of my mouth. Pastor, you dont answer ANYTHING in Hopsin's track. Why is it Hopsin, myself and others like us have to struggle every day, endure so much pain and suffering while someone like you and, I'm assuming is your son, get to walk within the light of God? Why do you get the nice, fancy house? Why do you're bills get paid? Why don't you suffer like we do? Hopsin's not saying that he wants to have 'Fun" like going out to a party or something superficial like that. We just want to be happy! To have a pleasant life. We work hard, love our families and put them before us and always try to do the right thing despite the constant shit on! We have sought out God. We've searched for years. We've humbled ourselves and opened our hearts to something greater than ourselves and still found nothing! So what are we supposed to do then? Huh? How do you find something that you've been searching for for years and still haven't found? Answer that question!!!!!
@DaughterOfGod419
@DaughterOfGod419 3 жыл бұрын
If you are search for God is in hopes to find material happiness, that's not what He promises, anybody can throw up accusations to what can could and should do, but He, and I say this without judgment but with my heart, is the only being that knows the hearts of every person including me and including you despite what we do.. I actually made a comment on this original song today about how my heart goes out to all that TRULY question and are truly searching for what God's about, but we have to put ourselves aside to get the true understanding and do what Luke 11 says, ask Him for the Holy Spirit

Some of the only beauty out of each of my hardest battles have been what pastor has refered to as the voice of God .. which makes me wonder if the joy we find in preparation for the afterlife is discovering that we did seek God!.... I absolutely love this song of HOPSIN it’s it one of the most powerful songs I’ve ever heard and he is humbly asking every question that probably has crossed our mind when he says the i ain’t seen no talking snake unravel from tree with an apple to eat that ***** never happens to me to I think of these scriptures. ROMANS 15:15 “For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope” As for HOPSIN saying if you really care for me proof that I need to live carefully, because I’ll be damned if I put my own pleasure aside for an after life that isn’t even garunteed!! It reminds me of JERIMIAH 17:10 it reads “IJehovah, am searching the heart, Examining the innermost thoughts, To give to each one according to his ways, According to the fruitage of his works.” So I think god looks at your heart. say for example there was a man with a millions of pounds and and he was searching for a wife and showed the women and people his wealth could it not be that some of the women lining up to marry him could only be after the million pound and that the love or wanting to marry him they declared was not sincere as they were after what he had to offer instead of earnestly loving him for who he was it’s the same with our god Jehovah the fact we follow him and do his will without any full proof of our reward in view (apart from the bible of course!) shows that in our hearts we want to do his will because it’s in our hearts and we would do it because we just want to do what’s right HOPSIN is saying show me proof and then I’ll put my own pleasures aside for an after life so I’m a sense he’s only willing to do it if he’s promised something in return So if god says he examines the heart and searches the heart would HOPSIN be agreeable to god standards of heart condition at this point “1ST CHRONICLES 29:17 reads. “I well know, O my God, that you examine the heart and that you take pleasure in integrity. In the uprightness of my heart, I have voluntarily offered all these things” Just my take on this as it’s my favourite song ever not meaning any offence to anyone Edit: I don’t own a special or different bible your Christian bibles should say pretty much the same as said in here peace and love to anyone on there spiritual journey 💕 Also why Jehovah’s Witnesses go door to door Jehovah’s Witness are trying to fulfill that the good news of Jesus ransom sacrifice must be preached throughout the world ACTS 20.20 it reads “while I did not hold back from telling you any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching you publicly and from house to house” also in MATHEW28:19-20 it reads “ Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations,a baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things” MATTHEW 10:7 “As you go, preach, saying: ‘The Kingdom of the heavens has drawn near” Also in MATTHEW 24:14 it reads “And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations,and then the end will come”. I think this is why it’s so vital that we spread the word to everyone giving them a chance to know about god and the Jesus the ransom X If anyone would like a free online bible study also to do in there own time www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/online-lessons/

I look at it like it's better to trust what you feel in your heart more than it is to believe something that was written thousands of years ago. Don't get me wrong. Not saying that the Bible is wrong. There is a whole lot of good philosophy and lessons in it, and a good guide to be a better person. But you have to remember that the word Bible literally means guide. It's meant to guide you, not to 100% tell you how to live or you're going to hell. It's not a finger pointing at you telling you to do something an exact certain way or else, and if you follow this you'll be given everything you want in life and nothing bad will ever happen. This life is a testing ground. Nothing physical will go with you, not even your body or physical form. The only thing we take is the lessons we learn about life. Whether it's through Christianity, the Bible, another religion, or just from within. You also have to remember that the Bible was translated years and years ago, and things DID get lost in translation, and when the Romans wrote it out finally and declared Christianity the religion to follow thousands of years ago they had their own agenda. Religion was law in those days, and they quite literally threw 14 different books from the Bible out. Not to mention that man is even now rewriting it to fit their own agendas. Man is fallible, and man can be corrupted. So like I said, it's good meant as what it is, a guide. But don't turn nose at someone because they arrive to the same destination only because they took a different path. That's my thoughts on religion. Better to have an idea than a set of beliefs. People die, kill, and carry out horrible atrocities in the name of a belief. But an idea can change and evolve. That philosophy is from the movie Dogma. Proof that God works in mysterious ways. Lol

How can Jesus, Job, Jacob, John and all these names in the bible starting with the letter J not be a figment of imagination when the letter J first came to frutition in the early 1500th? If there wasn't a letter for these names to even exist, you gotta come to the conclusion that it's truly inaccurate. Now, how many times exactly have humans rewritten what is supposed to be Gods words to make it fit the current empire in charge of the world? Alot. The most of you today are following the King James bible. King James being the latest human to make the Holy Book fit his way of ruling (England), which doesn't make sense neither due to the fact that he lived in the 1300th. 2 centuries before the letter J even existed which indicates once more that the creadibility of the bible being truthful is just not true. Or maybe it isn't as old as people make it seem? James is a name that shouldn't exist in that time, 1300th. Does this also mean that King James is a made up character in the history books? One could make that assumption. To understand letters and languages and its history, research this.. do not be a blind sheep in Jeshua's army. Believe in whatever God you wish, believe in whatever gets you through life but please learn to critically look at things and question whatever or whoever wishes to send you to places like hell and purgatory. The bible is not being truthful or the words of Jehovah (supposedly Gods name). There is that letter J again, strange right? His existance is not true. Life, and the universe is still tremendously beautiful, there's no way around that.

I’ve struggled all my life trying to find this faith and the Holy Spirit but I never was able to. I’ve come to the conclusion that some people will have it and some won’t. And that’s what makes me believe that there isn’t one true religion. The first time I ever heard the Song I knew this is how I had been feeling for years before this song was ever released. I have distanced myself from church and religion all together because I’d rather be a non believer than a liar to myself and to everyone else.

Damn bro, I know exactly how you feel. There was a time when I hated God for allowing things to happen to me. And I've asked that question so many times. "Why do I, someone who's been a Christian my whole life, someone who's HAD faith and HAS been seeking You for 18 years, feel so unhappy when I have friends, who never even worshipped you for five years, that are now happier than I ever was?" My mentally began declining. I second guessed everything that I believed in and in the end I resented God for allowing all of these things to happen to me. One of those" friends", that I mentioned earlier, fell to her knees and started sobbing while we were praying, some people went to go console her, but I kept praying because there was something aching in my chest that I just wanted to let go, I wanted God to help me so badly, but he didn't (not then, anyway). Later, that same friend told me that she fell to her knees because "God showed her the pain that I was going through". I honestly felt lost; instead of just helping me, he decided to tell someone, who I now don't even talk to anymore, my pain? I became negative, I became obsessed with questioning God. Why do people have to go through pain when he could just create a Utopia? Why does he allow the Devil to break us down and lure us away from Him? I hated God for months and, till this day, cut ties with most of my friends. But then something happened, something that might've been small compared to what my mind wanted, but it was something that affected my heart greatly. I started believing again, and decided that I'm going to take a break from my friends in order to rehabilitate my mind, because I was really scared on what impact I might have on them if my mindset continued to decline like that. Sorry for this long message, but I just want to say that it's okay to lose faith sometimes, it's alright to question things. But you gotta understand one thing(one thing that I struggled with so long to understand), human aren't meant to understand God and his ways. That's what faith means, choosing to believe in something even though you don't understand it. Somewhere along your life something is gonna happen that influences your heart in a huge way and I hope when that day comes, that you will find God again. Much love bro, and I wish you luck❤️🔥

I really appreciate the back and forth in this video. I have always been as torn as Hopsin when it comes to faith. I do believe in God, but not as much as I want to. I have many of the same questions, as well as many others. I've always wanted to find a good pastor to talk to and discuss the things I feel... This video helped with some of that...

That’s awsum that the preacher was open minded enough to listen to this. I have always absolutely loved this song it touches me deeply. When we talk to our father\God I feel we are suppose to come to him as we would our earth father, and ask questions and feel doubt at times and it’s ok to be fustrated, we r human, I am not religious person I am spiritual, to me religion is a way of control, the Bible was written by humans, god is within us, the Bible even says that.

Honestly this song has always made me have a complete breakdown. “Where’s the Holy Ghost at? How long does it take a man to find it?” That lyric is always where I just lose it. I feel like I’ve been searching, and struggling, and praying for so long and I’m unanswered. I feel so angry because I know In my heart that I deserve happiness so why can’t he hear my pleading? Am I begging to no one? Then other days I’m angry with myself, I feel like I’m wasting the life he’s given me by always being so negative, By not being appreciative of the life I was granted. I feel like Satan is winning, and I’m scared because I feel like I’ve completely lost touch with God, and he’s left me behind. What if it’s too late for me and I really am just a lost cause?
@DontHatemusiK
@DontHatemusiK 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe His answer is that you have the strength within and you need to listen to the inner voice he placed within you when you were created... No one is a "lost cause" unless they choose to be. When Jesus was hanging on the cross the two thieves hanging next to him represent the paths we must choose for ourselves. One thief mocks Jesus for being "unable to save himself"... The other... Asks Jesus if there could be salvation for him if he were to truly repent the wickedness of his sinful life... Jesus says, "Amen I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise" He is called Saint Dismas (death), and is known as the penitent thief.

He started going to a Christian Youth Camp that changed his perspective on God, by the way the background you're seeing is outside of Albuquerque New Mexico where he grew up. If you watch it to the end, you'll see everything. He says that we need to personally seek God ourselves. You can never seek without faith. When you come to this kind of time in your life, you could even take a personal retreat to seek, but then, you must believe. Job was sustained in his afflictions because he had that personal revelation of Who God is. The journey to discovery is by faith so it has to be there first, before answers begin to come.

I can't believe because Hopsin is solid and right, humans wrote the book for one sure it's "inspired by God" but there's a lot of books inspired by people and those people always put THEIR twist in it and not to mention the fact as a ex Christian, they believe it's right because the bible says it right that it's all in the bible but there's no backing in the slightest. You want blind Faith to follow an outdated book that fun fact King James was a bisexual man, a book he translated that stands solely against anything but straight a bisexual man wrote it there's history proving that and he didn't stop but he wrote that "holy book".

Even as a pastor it can be difficult to defend the faith when considering this rap; you can't speak for everyone. Even Hopsin said he isn't trying to destroy a legacy. Christian faith is about having a common understanding in doing good- Hopsin, I believe, is venting frustration toward the persecution of being propositioned to sacrifice yourself for the sake of doing good as well as being asked for more than an individual has been inspired by God to give. This song isn't about condemning Christian's, but rather entities that move falsely in the name of God... Make sense?

Has anyone ever taken their lives into their own hands and changed it for the better without supposedly relying on your god or just any deity you’d like to insert? If the answer is yes then your proof goes out of the window. The people I feel sorry for are the ones who are shackled to a delusion and can’t get through the day without it being their crutch. Losing faith was the most liberating experience of my life, don’t feel sorry for me 😅.

No dude you got it wrong. You can rely on God to give you the strength or courage to do something, it's just how you use it is what matters. God isn't responsible for everything. He can't control us, that's what free will is for. That's what everybody gets confused about. The Catholic religion isn't about "God does everything." What people don't understand is "God must not do for man what man must do for himself."

@@keef5 anyone can take their own life into their own hands and turn things around. No one said it would be impossible. The point is there are some people who can't do it on their own. And they get faith in God to help them. This isn't about God doing all things. We all have freedom to do as we want. God is not there to make things easy as people wish. The bible says it clearly. He is there to make things possible. I think why so many people don't believe in God is because people represent God along side with religion and even the bible says religion is evil. Believing in God is a relationship.

As someone who has gone to multiple schools learning a different religion and being told every time that i can have a relationship with God, i really relate to this song. It perfectly explains my problem with religion where everyone thinks they are right then some other religion comes along and tells them they are wrong and people should listen to this different religion. I really tried and fully committed myself to believing in god for years and not once have i heard God, seen God or even felt the presence of God. So I’m done searching for him. If he really cares for me then he can prove it to me. Ive tried to have a relationship with God for so long, but i guess I’m just not enough. But he can do what he wants since we are not equal. “Im a human ill stay in my lane.” -Hopsin

“Sometimes people just want to stay where they’re at and bring other people down to them and they get upset when people get free” Pastor just explained himself and every other Christian like him when folks like Hopsin break free from the mental prison of religion

Not all Christians are the same? Get your mind right. Gotta open it up sometimes. Can't shit on other people for believing. I don't shit on other people for not believing. Most of my friends are atheists. But I don't let that get in the way of anything.

I love the way your dad explained the “four voices”. The voice within whether it’s positive (Good) or negative (Evil) it depends on you (own voice) what you choose. Although it can be hard when things go bad, hopefully something can pull yourself out of it. (God).

@C S that’s exactly right. I feel like he tried to make points to refute what Hopsin was saying instead of trying to understand him, and this was one of the points that was very weak. There may be a correlation between the number of authors and the credibility of the scripture, but the way he phrased it makes that correlation impossible

@@Teddy_Gautier also the books banned and removed. The romans made the book to control the masses and decided what to keep and what to ban. Jesus was clearly talking out and against organized religion and was publicly killed and tortured to stop people from going against rome. The Roman empire lives through the religion the made and the US is the new rome as the Roman "Christian" country

I've listened to this song so many times and I've also kept an eye and watched Hopsin since the song I really do feel like that he has changed man I feel like he's been repenting and no longer looking for God but now has found him himself

I’ve been in a mental position pretty much exactly like Hopsin. I was born and raised as a Jehovahs Witness and left at 18. I’m 22 now and it’s been an ongoing battle between what I wanna do with my life in terms of religion. What stuck with me from this video is “the greatest proof that God is real is a changed life.” Never had it phrased like that. I’ve always struggled with faith because I look for hard evidence that God is real when in reality, TRUE faith is the belief in things unseen. If God were to “show himself” then what’s the point in faith? It’s a choice. Faith is something you can have only if your heart is open to it and that finally clicked for me. I don’t know if I’m gonna completely turn my life around because of this video but it’s definitely opened up new paths of thinking now.

I struggle to see the perspective of the curators of this video, although to some extent i do believe they mean well (Although discrediting other faiths is a bit of a grey area). And i believe some of the arguments or justifications for what Hopsin says are questionable. The difference between the depictions of God in the old testament and the new testament are insane, and even then there are inconsistency within them. Hopsin suggests that the Bible is an inaccurate source, you shouldn't then refute that by citing the Bible because it just seems to prove his point. And citing something that may of happened 2000+ years ago isn't proof its speculation. Don't get me wrong, to an extent i respect religions. Because for some its a healthy outlook on life and it has had an impact on the way we view morality and right and wrong. For those who search for meaning and strive for a goal, religion might be good. But i don't believe a singular religion can help someone understand reality. I'm not Christian or really religious, id consider myself more of a deist (a Deity may of created the world or the universe we exist in, but doesn't partake in its evolution)

Pastor is speaking the truth. Staying in the same cycle! I'm in and out of the "cycle" maybe just a different spin than yours. I will get over it, but not of my own strength, but of God's. With a CAPITAL G. I will overcome because God has overcame this world. 🙏
