Joyner Lucas speaks 100 truth and real. Yes he said f*ck god. And also god help me at his weakest. Many people have major demons inside them n kill themselves. Where the f*ck was god then? Nice you talking about this video but Joyner Lucas has a bigger voice then you. He speaks how it is. You speak what a book taught you to believe!!

I agree with both but from a person who doesn't blame music for a person action, I just heard and watch his video for the first time then watched your video right after ,and the pastor said he thought he was possibly giving people the idea that suicide is a option and I never will or would but during this time that video and song made me think about ,so what I'm getting at is the dad is old and wise and he knows life test you but this response was to me from god cause I felt what he thought but that's also because iam in a funk but to the son I also agree with a lot you said ,anyways thank for the time you to make this video you guys response was with in 2 minutes of me hearing this song and I 2as in a bad place for just a few minutes before you guys let me know god was there always thank you

About the pen thing, I heard that someone said god gave him three chances. The belt slipped, chance 1. The pen ran out, chance 2. And then he had one last chance by not pulling the trigger, but he did it and that was the last chance which he wasn't saved from.

Nonsense. People are stupid. This is how delusional religious people can get. They can see 3 clear signs of god interjecting when dude is an actor and got up after the director yelled 'cut'. Nobody died. The director was trying to make a compelling video. We can't give him the credit. All the praise now goes to God who I'm sure the fanatics will say put the ideas in his head for the vid🙄😒

To anybody who might get something positive from this: 99% of people who jump from bridges or buildings and survive, all say the same thing, "Once my feet left the ledge and i realized it was too late i immediately regretted it." and i can say from experience, about 3 years ago, i was in a bad place and i slit my wrist.. I lost alot of blood and almost died. But the point is as soon as that blade hit my arm and i saw the blood start pouring out of my arm. I immediately started praying that id survive. And i think of that moment now whenever im feeling suicidal. I actually had a disaster of a day today.. And got those old familiar feelings, but trust me, theres ALWAYS tomorrow. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. Trust me.

I don't think anyone will truly understand the internal battle we have with ourselves, this song is so powerful, I feel like this song represents the voice in my head and the constant contemplation of suicide and refusing to look at the good things in life that are in front of me because there's something inside holding me back. Truly Truly powerful! I break down every time I hear this song 😢
@henryrobert59173 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, as someone going through a similar situation, the pen running out of ink is a representation of how much we want to say but can't put into words. It also symbolizes the end of the letter, thus the end of his life (a double being that joyner is rapping, his pen is his livelihood, even though he isn't the one committing suicide)

if someone is suicidal, they have already had the thoughts. A music video isn't going to create new thoughts. They are already there. I think the nuance whether selfish is the right way to describe suicide is if you’re talking about the action itself or it’s intent. Someone mentally ill enough to end their life isn’t going to have the perspective that they’re being selfish. With the line “I can’t believe you think the world is better off without you” that really is the way a lot of suicidal people rationalize with themselves when they end up attempting to kill themselves.

I balled like a baby when I first seen this video. I've never had serious thoughts of suicide, or anything like this. Teenage angst is as far as I've ever gotten, but I think we've all had friends to end it. It happened x2 when I was in the military. 1 in Afghanistan and the other was suicide by cop in Ft. Hood. Dustin Cole was a troubled person, but he was deeply loyal, fearless, and someone who you wanted to on your side. I had no idea how to react when it happened. I grew up, desperately poor. No lights, water, or food. I'm only 32 btw, but its the hand my family was dealt. It was so painful and confusing when he did what he did. Evil. He killed a police officer, and I feel bad for feeling bad for Cole. PTSD is a real thing that I never believed in until I came back. Just venting in public, sorry.

@@KykyDJenkins I think more so, after so many attempts, there's no chance that they haven't decided to choose death at that point. What else could God do, but to let them continue in their suffering. It's impertinent, I think, to remember that our LORD Jesus Christ, the almighty, the One and ONLY Judge. And whomever He chooses to save, or to take, it is the correct time for such. For he is the only one who knows all of the heart, and of the mind, and of the spirit. Depression is a disease, which I have, I might add, abbreviated SAD, that causes a person to have uncontrollable horribly negative thoughts of oneself. And God judges the hearts of man, of all their motives, and desires. Pause and wonder about the thought of just how difficult it would be to take ones own life. In my conclusion, where with depression's effect on ones brain, being a physical malformity, changing how a person believes, and/or behaves(Think Altzimer's Disease, Dementia etc.,) I do not believe that any souls are condemned by God for the act of suicide alone. Strong faith, love, and compassion Is needed, for so that is pertaining to the matter, to reinforce that God is patient long-suffering, merciful, and lovingly perfect, so that you should not worry where your loved ones have gone, Nobody that could have turned and repented will die, and the same goes vice versa. And when in doubt, seek it out. Romans 2:3-4: And thinks thou this, O man…that you shall escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Genesis 18:16-33 New International Version 22 The men(N) turned away and went toward Sodom,(O) but Abraham remained standing before the Lord.[b](P) 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?(Q) 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will not the Judge(V) of all the earth do right?”(W) 26 The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.(X)” 27 Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes,(Y) 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?” “If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.” 29 Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?” He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.” 30 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry,(Z) but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?” He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.” 31 Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?” He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.” 32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more.(AA) What if only ten can be found there?” He answered, “For the sake of ten,(AB) I will not destroy it.” 33 When the Lord had finished speaking(AC) with Abraham, he left,(AD) and Abraham returned home.(AE) Matthew 18:10-14 New International Version The Parable of the Wandering Sheep(A) 10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels(B) in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [a] 12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

I like how he stopped him to help his dad understand what really goes on inside the mind. Dad is listening, good. Wish he could help many clueless parents understand to, they just don't get it.

Wow. This is my first time seeing this channel but you guys are entertaining. I sense some underlying tension between the two of you. Like your son grew up hearing you push your opinions on to others, so now he's made it his mission in life to show you that there are multiple perspectives to consider.

Almost all suicide attempt survivors said the regretted it as soon as they took that step to end their life there is a video about a man who jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge in a suicide attempt he was one of very few who survived that jump and in his video he said the second he left the railing he regretted it.

The inspiration behind this song was Joyners cousin "Brodi" who took his own life. The line "Just make sure you tell my family: It's ok, I'm sorry" is rumored to be picked straight out of Brodi's suicide note

You guys should react to some Ivan B music. He's a rapper that brings up stuff about God and Jesus, life and it's problems, and things that conflict with stuff in the Bible. He's been one of my reasons for living.

Why would God create this crazy life knowing that people can't take this life that gives no answer to our questions. Then God has the audacity to send people to hell...

Bo Majesty I don’t believe in god. He creates this horrible world we live in for no point. He has a kingdom of peace and happiness and then puts us on this prison for eighty years just so we can get in. With all of these things that MAKE people behave badly

The way I would word your statement at14:20 is "The people saying it's selfish are selfish themselves they may mourn but they do it with the support of those around them mourning also. To be in a state of suicidal thought your whole life is mourning by your self alone without support even if the support is present." also it's irrelevant trying to put logic to suicide in a mind that has true suicidal tendencies rational thought based on living is not present.

4:50 I watched the original video before during a time when I was thinking about killing myself. It really made me think. It did not give me ideas of how to kill myself but it did help me think of what others would go through if I did it.

As a suicidal person with a depressive disorder, as well as someone who has had a loved one commit suicide, I used to be quite bothered by people calling it selfish. Ultimately, selfishness isn't a bad thing. I think it often gets confused with self-centeredness. But, I came to the realization that the reason it bothered me was, not because it wasn't selfish or that your thoughts aren't in the mindset of "me", but because the otherside of the arguement is just as selfish. And that's okay. The problem is that no one talks about that. The other side wants someone who has no desire of living to live. And, yes some people do say that it's because that person is taken away from the world and can't play their part. But, deep down it's because someone they love is taken from them. Whether they admit it or not, it is a selfish view. Just as much as the person committing suicide because they're tired or overwhelmed or feel like they got nothing left is selfish. It's very important to remember that both sides are on equal ground in this area. Ultimately, the only person that is selfless is the one who gives in and lets go of their desire. And, if we continue with only admitting the selfishness of one side and not the other, that side will ultimately just be hurt. They'll feel even more misunderstood and isolated, when they already can't be understood. And, then we definitely can't help them. Because everything is just stacked against them, there's no middle ground.
