He has gotta be one of the realest rappers I've heard. As a Christian, when I first heard "Ill Mind 7," I honestly got a bit saddened by the song, but in considering what he was saying, and in watching this interview, I see that Hopsin's perspective is actually healthier and stronger than a lot of religious and nonreligious people. His candidness, fascination, questioning, ambition, and drive are refreshing.

Young Earth You know you aren't the first person to claim that they had revelations from god. Plenty of believers claim they knew the exact date of the end of the world and they were clearly proven delusional when those dates passed. How can you be sure you aren't having the same delusions? Also, your last sentence really doesn't make sense. No one truly believes something that they know is false, or vice versa. Saying i know god exists but i reject him because i love to sin, is like saying i'm poor but i believe i'm rich because i like having money. No human being thinks like this because it is logically inconsistent.
@azndogeater9 жыл бұрын
Young Earth So exactly what makes you different from those who also claim to have revelations from god who are clearly delusional? Also, i wasn't talking about people believing things that are actually false, i'm talking about people who believe things to be true and at the same time false. For example: "I believe god exists, i also believe god doesn't exist because i like to sin" It's a nonsensical belief
@azndogeater9 жыл бұрын
Young Earth It's not me personally, a person doesn't just believe that he is short and tall at the same time, it doesn't make sense logically and that is generally agreed upon in the field of logic and philosophy. Again, many people claim god has revealed himself to them, and they were clearly delusional, why are you different? You should already know how to do all those things by common sense. You marry someone you trust and have a strong relationship with. You take a high paying job that you have a passion for. You buy the big and nice house that you can afford. You live where it is convenient and fits your lifestyle. Love is an inherent characteristic of humans like breathing and does not need instructions. If you need a god to know these things then i truly feel sorry for you.

I grew up in a Serbian family who practiced Orthodox Christianity. My parents put me to a Catholic elementary school however. In Grade 8, i started doubting the existence of a God, and thought it was bullshit. In grade 9 and 10, i hated having to subscribe to a religion from the day we are born. I cant prove or disprove that there is or isnt a higher power. I was so convinced that im an agnostic, and i'll be content to love the questions life has to offer. Now in grade 11, i consider myself a deist, as i believe someone must have created us, earth. The anthropic principle is so fascinating to me and how are we positioned so perfect from the sun, only planet with life etc. I believe that their is a creator of this magnificant creation, but i think all religions are just humans attempting to answer a question on a much more grand scale, of which we cant comprehend.

I'm in a similar "situation", my family are also Orthodox (I still haven't told them my thoughts about religion). I first was constantly trying to "prove" God and "debate" non-religious people. I eventually found Deism (8th grade) and I was very intrigued. I soon began to question religion and considered myself a Deist. I am currently in 10th grade and consider myself a mixture between an Agnostic, Humanist and Deist. It is really hard because people don't know how hard it is to come out as non-religious, I haven't really told anyone yet. I don't want to tell my parents because I feel like I will make them sad/mad. How did you "come out"? I'm going through a really tough time so any tips will help.

I know it sounds unlikely that we are positioned so perfectly. But that's just what it is. We are an unlikely combination of chemicals that gained consciousness and regains life by where we are in the universe. HOwever, our existence isn't so unlikely that we can definitively say that it is irrational to believe this happenstance. THis because the universe is so vast - and our existence so tiny in terms of time (remember universe is 13.7 billion years old) that it actually becomes probable enough to deduce that we don't need God creating us. We were just at the right time at the right place in this infinitely sized universe

I feel that we can explain science, but we still don't have the answers at all as a society. The reason that we have such tremendous social issues, is because we've left God behind. Think about it this way. You say letting go of God would save lives, but think about how many lives could have been saved if we followed God's word. Imagine how many lives would be saved without wars, murderers, etc.

Thereafter I watched this clip of him explaining where he was mentally and spiritually and I have to say I really appreciate his mental strength to question what we have largely been told not to question. As one who has been down this path I understand his plight and would encourage him to seek the truth he longs for...he will surely find it. I would encourage him NOT to be a sheep, like he rightly said, the brain is the most powerful organ we have. Use it! It will set you free. He is definitely unique and I wish him all the best in his quest for self knowledge and discovery. Your on the right path my brother, stay the course. Lastly, question EVERYTHING!

He is making everyone look dumb with his "Analyzing Rap" and it's unique and he speaks the truth in many of his songs. Is God real? I think the real question is, what is God and how does God effect us? I think both answers to if God is real is true, yes because God is something and no because we only understand a fabrication of what God really is. But regardless what you believe, this is my opinion on the connection between God and mankind: The connection between God and mankind, is the same as the connection between a parent and their child. You want your child to be happy but you also want to teach the child about responsibility and sometimes discipline appears as you being mean to them but when the child gets older, they will know what you did for them was right. This is why we do not understand God until we reach a certain level of wisdom and even then, all truth is truly only revealed until you part from this life.

***** We have no evidence of the big bang theory(no one was alive to record such an event) but this still effects how we view reality or the concept of reality. The big bang theory is just a theory at the end of the day but because it sounds logical and possible we believe it to be more of a fact than just a theory. But then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and anyone can be just as correct as the next person. Even if their theories are very different. We have no proof of anything really, but just merely concepts of what reality could be. No one can prove what happens to a person after they die, we can only speculate. So since we have no proof, the answer could be anything and all answers are considered possible until disproved with actual evidence. So really there is no right or wrong answer but just a difference in opinion.
@PHX-5769 жыл бұрын
***** "If you believe in God because you don't believe all of this could have happened without a Creator, then who created God? If he had a creator (which he must have if you're using that logic) then he isn't God and thus this infinite loop starts, therefor the use of God to explain something is irrational and non progressive, so lets move on and actually figure out the origin instead of sit here and say God did it." It's funny how you call his point of view a logical fallacy when you use one yourself. God isn't a creation, He is the ultimate and above-all creator, which is why He is GOD. If God was created, He wouldn't be eternal, meaning He was always there. We know that everything in the universe has a creator and can't just pop up out of nowhere, so since God is outside of the universe, this rule doesn't apply to Him. Why would God subject to the rules He created? You're underestimating God's power and it's clear that you have a misconception of who He is. God is bigger than what you think and everything else in the whole universe. God is more than alpha and omega considering He has no beginning or end. Now why would the universe be provoked to expand all of a sudden? What force caused it to move? Not only that, but the particle of the universe had to be created before it even expanded.
@PHX-5769 жыл бұрын
***** "I am pointing out a logical fallacy, which is why I clearly stated my reason for saying that "If you believe in God because you don't believe all of this could have happened without a Creator". Well, 1, it's not a logical fallacy and 2, that's not the only reason why I believe in God. "Where is your evidence God wasn't created? Where is your evidence God is outside of the Universe? How do you even know there is an outside to this Universe?" The evidence is the fact that He is God, meaning if He was created, He wouldn't be God because God is the one who created everything. God is obviously outside of the universe since He created it. I know there is an outside to this universe because God is much greater than the universe, so obviously He is outside of it. God is the highest power and life force of pretty much everything. "You're using the argument from ignorance and making claims without basis. Just because we don't know how something works does not give cause to a God. It is okay to say you don't know. This God ego where if Science does not yet have an explanation than it is automatically cause for a God is not evidence for anything." And you're not? Where is the scientific evidence or basis of yours that disproves God? Also,it's not "a God" because there's only one true God above all. I never said that just because we don't know how something works it's automatically God, but deducting what happened before the Big Bang can never really be explained without a higher power, otherwise, it's illogical. Of course, even with the Multiverse theory, there still has to be a higher power no matter what. Yes, it's okay if you don't know, but living your whole life in ignorance is just sad, that's why you're still alive to find answers before death comes. Plus, you have it backwards, it's not that these things cause God to exist, it's the other way around, where God is the one who caused these things. Again, you have a misconception and underestimation of God's power. "What if the expansion of our Universe resulted in an event like a Super Nova inside a Multiverse, there is so many more hypotheses that could very well be based in observable evidence, but instead of investing our time and energy into discovery some people just like to make there ego claim that they already know the answer, GOD DID IT." Haha, and what would cause that Supernova? Things can't just happen for no reason. None of what you're saying affects God's existence or power in anyway, because ultimately, He is greater than everything else (that's why He's God). I never said to stop scientific research and such, so by all means keep exploring/discovering, but until you find/prove an answer 100% (which is never gonna happen since God is outside of our technological scope), I'll stick to believing in/worshiping God. "I based my whole comment on observable evidence, you're just making a claim. So what is it going to be, are you going to give me the evidence for God that will seal the deal or are you just going to admit you would rather believe in him, which is fine. Remember though, I am simply saying there is a lack of evidence for a God, my presupposition isn't necessarily that there is no God." I based mine on observable evidence too since the Qur'an has a lot of scientific facts, and it's pointless to not believe in God considering that technology would never be able to reach Him, so why believe only from physical evidence when that's something you'll never obtain?

It's ALWAYS best to be real. That's what shines through with Hopsins music. That confessionalism aspect can really elevate art to the next level. ALSO it's obvious that Hop still has respect for/believes in God. So peps saying yeah I don't believe either obviously misinterpreted the song. It's about having a crisis of faith as an experience and making a song out of it. That doesn't necessarily mean that's the way the artist feels all the time.

Belief requires reasoning, believing in it hard enough does not make it so, this would be magic. You basic Christians are sickening. Do you know the definition of the word real? Google it because according to the definition your God is not real and this makes you delusional. According to the Bible the God you speak of has a name and it is Jehovah. Jehovah only wants to be called Jehovah and nothing else or you are sinning. Jehovah is not a loving God because according to the bible Jehovah destroys an entire planet with people on it and he drowns pharaohs in the Red sea, is this the acts of a loving God?

I'm mostly in the same mind set as Hopsin and I was stunned when he mentioned the school system part. Our whole world has been sleeping, but our inventions like the internet made it possible to get infinite amount of information and to be able to meet people that think the same or similar way! I've grown up as Christian too and after "waking up" and starting to analyzing the world and the mind I suddently had psychic problems and realized how I need to get back in to religion because it's really the purpose to explore the spiritual world and you need something to hold on. For me it is Jesus Christ, but not because it was taught me, because I know it's the right thing! But as I said, everyone needs to inform him/herself about this topic and stop living mindlessly by the society. I hope you all go the right way and find spiritual peace. God bless you!

+LaughinMyAssOn because we have already discovered gene manipulation, architecture, landscaping, manipulation of every molecule and atoms, we've cloned and also as humans we've built simulations as well as a mind controller which allows us to make any animal or species move or talk or . look up everything I've mentioned. why can we do all these things? where does these ideas come from? what if our spirit was just in our brain? because with out our brain our body can live but not function, our brain gave us these ideas of creation and manipulation without a brain we wouldn't be able to believe in anything. if there is a God I believe our mind is what holds our soul and he also must of used science to create us. they say God is omniscients and omnipotent, look up both meanings

From my point of view, I love that he's showing us that it's okay to have our doubts but at the same time giving ourselves to God, by searching for him. Finding our own way instead of listening to other people. He isn't just throwing religion down the toilet. He is going out of his way to find himself. And as far as the school system part, that really got me thinking... I'm in college, getting a degree in something I don't want to be. I love producing. I'd want to do that but it does pay well (not all cases, but its a long shot). But when I get out & have a degree, I'm scared I'll just be book smart. Good interview Hopsin, regarding the god bit, i was in the same spot when i was about 17-18. Hearing you talk about god brings me back to that time. I wanted to believe, not to long after i realized that even if god was real that lack of evidence for his existence meant that I had to live my life as if he didn't. Living off of faith just wasn't a healthy way to interact with reality for me. A decade later and my feelings are a bit different. I definitely do not want to believe any more. I am very happy that there is no evidence for god and I think if he was real he would be a terrible deity. I am curious to see where your story ends up. I think its a great think that you are questioning this stuff, sadly many people don't even make it that far mentally.
