The songs have a 5-1-5 structure where the first 5 symbolize a faith that is not perfect and a selfish faith. To him realizing he has everything he needs in the middle. Then it is about spreading the gospel in the last 5.

If you listen he's describing his relationships with family and friends in simple declarations and noting the word throughout as his guide. Chik fila about Kim and Children. Follow God is him arguing with his father about the journey your asking him for. I would give a listen again. He addresses prison reform which is apart of his journey towards Yashua.

The messages of each song are simple and I don’t think it’s supposed to have this hidden meaning. I think Kanye wants this album to be solely about Jesus and not himself. That’s what the Christian walk is about isn’t it? Putting Christ first and humbling yourself at His feet. In my own walk with Christ, I’m learning to stop worrying about all the details of life and just praising God and letting Him take care of it. That’s what I love about this album. Just proclaiming that Jesus is King! That’s all that really matters🤷♂️

Have you listened to any of Selah's songs? They're a Christian "vocal trio" that I used to listen to. I'm picking back up on listening to them and I thought you'd enjoy them.
@selahhomestead-ish33165 жыл бұрын
Thought and Question: As you said yourself, people have followed his journey, you and most of the world saw West's journey and how he lived. You and most know the life he had before his "awakening", right? Why then do you need to know the story that led him to where he is? You've watched it for years. A sin filled life that was leading him to hell. Eyes and ears saw this for more than 20 years. Why does the new album need a story? Does this make sense? He's just trying to worship Kanye style. Like you said, it sounds like every other Christian album. It does, in the manner that God is being lifted up. New Christian's spread the gospel any way they can. That is what most gospel music does. I'm just very unsure as to why you must have a story when you already know the story. It's Kanye, er' body knows Ye. I understand you want a story in music. You like stories. I love lyrical stories. Maybe it will come. Maybe he knows that people have seen his life as a sinner and deems it not necessary to add his testimony to the lyric. Get what I'm trying to articulate? All of this is thought and said in peace. Loved the commentary by yourself and your dad.
@selahhomestead-ish33165 жыл бұрын
Hi. I just realized you're not a Christian, not a follower of Christ. Maybe that's why you need to story? I see you do know lots of spiritual things and was raised in a christian home. Jesus isn't a religon. Shalom.
@selahhomestead-ish33165 жыл бұрын
Final comment. You're searching. You've been hurt by the church perhaps. By the church? By God? By a christian family member? You don't have to answer my questions, but I am curious. I've never understood how one, who knew Jesus, could just not know Him anymore. I can't imagine me turning from Him. I've been hurt very badly by the "church" the body. Not by God, but by people in authority over me, including my husband, who was to be my spiritual guide. My brother died of cancer. I was in a broken home. We were banished from a church we attended for 11 years. All of those things could have been a reason to turn my back, but instead I realized it wasn't Jesus-my Lord who hurt me. It was flawed and self righteous people who tried to break me. I will pray that God reveals Himself to you in a mighty way. I hope you get all the stories you need to bring you back. You're on a journey to find Him....again. I'm assuming you were saved before? My prayer is that you do find Him and have your own story to tell. I'd love to hear it. Shalom.

Haha don’t let the simplicity lose you, dear listener. There’s much that goes beyond face-value. For instance, “we began after the storm inside lay the land, it’s just the morning light,” could refer to numerous things: firstly, to the storm and flood that lay Old Testament land clear of sin; secondly, Jesus’s saving action on the cross in the New Testament. Both examples are of God’s active will to bring humanity from darkness into light, be it the light following a raging storm, or the light of resurrected Christ breaking forth from the tomb. “Go ahead, level up yourself,” isn’t just some secular riff, but theologically what occurs in the saintly person that surrenders to the LORD. Grace does not obliterate your nature; grace perfects your nature. You become MORE of the good that was deposited into you at your birth and rebirth at baptism. “Life too short, go spoil yourself (in God’s grace, that is)” echoes angelic Gloria, along with, “feel that feel, enjoy yourself ‘cause we got everything we need.” Don’t want to go on too long but, before you or anyone writes off a ‘simple’ song for possibly being ‘simplistic,’ think again.🤙🏼💯🔥
