This song is so deep when you understand the relationship between No Malice and Pusha T. As brothers and members of the clipse they indulged in all the vanity of the world and around 2010 Malice concerted to Christianity and became no malice and made Christian music. Pusha t continued on making secular music and becoming the president of Kanye’s record label. In Pushas first verse, he sites his criticism of Kanye’s newly professed faith and basically said we shall see if you are real as time goes on because I’ve seen converts come and go. In no Malices verse, he reminds his brother of the trouble they almost got into but God protected them from, in a hope to push him towards the Lord. That is why he ends the verse saying “Hold on to your brother while he’s faiths lost.” Such a deep track!

Yes and it's very significant. No Malice said he did not want to rap as The Clipse or perform any of the old music. His brother respected that. So it is fitting to see this reunion. Especially when No Malice says, "Just hold on to your brother when his faiths lost." I saw Pusha T in one of their surprise Sunday Service performances with Kanye at Howard(?) University. Something was said but couldn't make it out and Push was seemed humble in that moment. I pray for him too. I hope he's next. I can't even fathom the way they musically and lyrically present the Gospel together on an album. Gosh I might even weep.

Mr. J I agree that nobody can earn their way to heaven...that would be like me thinking if I just walked hard enough then I could walk to the moon. However, doing what is right every day is a choice. When we become saved we do not become robots for Christ. We still have to daily pick up our cross. We still have to be kind when it would be easier to be mean. We still have to give when we feel like taking. That’s what I meant by hard. And we don’t live like this to earn favor but rather we live like this because we want to be Christ-like. We want to live in a way that identifies us as HIS children but we are not God...we are but dust. Thankfully He gives us the ability to do any good that we are able to do.

I would venture that he _could_ mean that with everything this world tries to push you towards (and away from) it is rather difficult for people to accept Christ. Coming to Christ can indeed be a hard road from that perspective. I don't get the impression from Kanye that he *_at all_* believes in some sort of "merit" system that "religions" push on people. After all, Christianity isn't a religion. It's a personal relationship with God entered into through faith in Yeshua. It's permanent. No one can take you from Him once you are in His hand.
