If you base them on the Bible, then you have a Christian town-meaning God is recognized as Lord over this town, not that everyone there has to be a Christian. I love how NBC takes all these quotes from Wilson and practically yells at the viewer “These are scare quotes! Be afraid of this kind of thinking! Isn’t this man just awful?!” Meanwhile Biblical Christians all over the country with some of the most happy, fulfilling, and human-flourishing-promoting marriages and churches see the quotes and go “Yeah… and that’s bad, why?” But of course, it is to be expected that NBC would misunderstand and misrepresent a belief system they simply refuse to even try to understand. Produces at NBC, if you read this; Jesus Christ is Lord over all His creation and He commands every man, woman, and child to repent and believe the Gospel. That in includes you and everyone in your company and everyone you release content to. Standing in open rebellion against God is sinful and you will stand before a thrice holy God one day and account for every single act of rebellion and sin you committed. I hope and pray that you trust in the atoning work of Christ and His imputed righteousness alone for your salvation, by faith alone, through Grace alone, all for God’s glory alone because if not then you will face the wrath of God for an eternity.

As I said in my post, the folks and producers at NBC (along with everyone else on this planet who has ever lived or ever will live) will one day stand before a thrice holy God. @@CmRoddy So you are ok with theocracy then, because that is what the pastor is calling for. A government dictated by religion.
@CmRoddy2 жыл бұрын
@@bvw3153 Friend, you are misunderstanding what folks like Douglas Wilson mean on this subject. No one is advocating for a system where pastors or priests rule within the government to establish some kind of state church or ecclesiastical state council. When Wilson says “All of Christ for all of Life,” he means that all spheres of life are under the Lordship of Christ; the family government, church ecclesiology, local government, state government, federal government, etc. As I said above, it’s Christ or chaos. What Wilson is advocating is a nation whose laws are founded on the principles of God’s revelation to us, as He had spoken clearly and authoritatively through the Scriptures. Only the Christian worldview can bring about a society where the innocent are protected, the poor are taken care of, and the wicked are punished. But if you reject the idea of a nation placing importance on the lordship of Christ in all things, what kind of system would you put in place that isn’t just as religious in nature? The question isn’t whether or not one founds their laws and principles upon a religious framework, but rather which religious framework you use to plant your feet. You may think or immediately say “we don’t advocate for any religion,” but the reality is that you would have to promote a specific worldview and thus you’ll have to account for the presuppositions and assumptions that lay as the foundation of that worldview. Whether you intend it or not, this worldview very much acts as a religious framework, because that worldview dictates things like morality, ethics, and principles that lead to specific laws as good and condemns other actions as bad.
