Mike thank you so much for this video, I’m finally just getting my wash right set up. So I’m going to use my hose reels as a storage like you mentioned because it certainly make tons of sense. Now I have heard of 1” supply hose reels that would eliminate this issue but that’s a bit more money. I’m a veteran and it’s taken me a year to save just to have what it cost in labor to set up my AR-45 SoftWash machine and the Midwest accumulators with the remote. I live in south west Florida and the VA had to amputate my right lower leg. When I’m not washing I’m in crazy pain so I try to stay busy. I hope to have enough saved in a couple more months. Best wishes, James

Well i agree with you on the backlash effect when letting off and squeezing the trigger over and over. I also agree with other folks that said if its not plumbed thru the reel, then dont have to worry with reel going had or leaking. But your anology of cutting a 3/4" flow down restricting it to an 1/2" flow. Yeah throw that out the window. Because 99% of the time your starting with a 1/2" flow inside the wall of the house hooked to backside of that faucet you hooked to. Also you keep referring to the "pressure" or losing pressure by running it thru the reels. You are completely backwards there. So warer pressure isjt what fills your tank faster. Now more volume will fill your tank faster. Which is essentially what your doing witt your set up. So its 1/2" in house wall then your stepping it up to 3/4" with your supply hose. So its allowing more volume to flow to your rig. Now pressure, which you should only be worried about on the washing side lol. By taking that 3/4" and squeezing it thru/forcing it thru (adding restriction) the 1/2" fitting of reel. Now that will up your prrssure from that point on.

Just set my reels up this past week and only was testing them out and found the issue with not enuff flow. I already did my first job since adding the reels on and wasted alittle time messing with the reel then just disconnected it so hook up to tank more directly. I have already changed the system at least for the garden hose to bypass the reel… I like to have my pressure hoses still hooked to the reels tho I will likely just make sure I take them 100% off the reel but still be hook into them to avoid the constriction on the hoses, THANKS for the info!

Mike they do make a 1" manifold titan reel for your hose intake, and also on the pressure reels, you just unroll the hose all the way and it will not contract and mess up your reel, but I also have been running dead reels for the past several years, love it. easier to disconnect and move rig then move hoses after wards or vise versa.

Inside fitting size of the 3/4" hose I believe is the same as the 5/8". We use 5/8" supply hoses. Most homes have 1/2" water supply lines coming to the faucet. One of my last washes the water faucet was 12' from the truck and kept running out of water after I used the 100 gallons that I brought with me; I found the water was a trickle coming out of the faucet, took 3 hrs. to wash rather than 1hr. So, check the flow before hook-up or if it sounds weak in flow to tank. I have only chased water on some residential homes not commercial sites, but you do need a buffer amount to start. All depends on what equipment is being operated. Some problems occur in the hose being flattened or crimpled at the fitting on the reels. Even the 8 gpm plus machines require 1/2" pressure hose over distance, of which most don't do. When there is a problem one has to find a fix or improvement. 🚰

Quick question Mike, where did you get that solid mount block for your flow Pro i see before your 3/8 shut off valve. I can't seem to find them online.
@TheFreshRinse

It’s called an “Unloader Block”. Call Southside Equipment. Probably not on their website.

If you are struggling to find it, this may help. It's called a D101199 General Pump Manifold Block.

How do you get your pressure hose to spool up so nice with that many connections? Mine looks like bird nest lol

Serious question. What are you doing with your connections for the pressure hose to make them not bulge out? I run mine vertical but hose still looks like crap
@TheFreshRinse

@@pavermakeover I’m not sure how serious that can possibly be, but… click this link and watch at the 7:48 mark. You’ll see my 90° connection is turned at 90° across the reel.

@@TheFreshRinse that seems to be your supply hose, I am referring to your "high pressure" hose. If you are running 50 foot sections of hose for the high pressure hose then you have to have a bunch of quick connections on that reel right? If so how are you getting the hose to lay so flat. I know the video was about supply hose but that is not what I am attempting to ask about.

Part of waiting on water is the fact for some of us is we run 2-8gpm machines or 1-10gpm and 1-8gpm machine. Also in my area with the mass population growth so many houses being built the water coming out of a customers water faucet is less than 4gpm at 36psi.

The 1/2" outlet at the house will be the same choke point as if you ran the hose through your reel.

Are you suggesting a 1/2” hose will get the same flow rate as a 3/4” hose?
@MrG-wk6jw
@MrG-wk6jw 9 ай бұрын
absolutely not but if the pipe supplying the hose is only 1/2" then that will be the volume. The 3/4 and 1/2 hose will determine the pressure. Q = V x A @@TheFreshRinse

So. 😂 on your 3/4 water feed line measure the inside of the fittings. I bet they are 9/16 or 5/8". And they do make hose reels with 3/4 and 1" manifolds wich has less restrictions than your water hose ends😂😢

You are prolly correct. All I know is, I’m almost never waiting on water. I’m curious enough to check.
