I believe Matthew 24:29-31 is meant for Christians where the Angels will Gather The Church Elect for Armageddon, which means the rapture first, spending time with Both Jesus, and the Father. It seems to match Revelation 19:11-20 AFTER the Marriage Supper, which is Revelation 19:7-9. Matthew 24 can be RIGHTLY DIVIDED.

Amazing explanation. I love it. Thanks a lot brothers in Christ. Only one thing I am not getting is this Mathew 24:36 '...no one knows the day or hour "not even the Angels nor the Son but the Father alone" '. Because Son and angels and we who will be in Heaven would be knowing of that day because we would know at that time when the 70th week of Daniel started. And the believers of tribulation would also know that for the same reason and two witnesses and the angel that will preach the Gospel during the tribulation. Obviously it is not in the perspective of unbelievers because it says even Angels of heaven do not know of that day but Father only.

Like many others, I too was taught Matt 24 out of context and used it as a source of rapture evidence. I watched your 'Rapture Sermon' series and the truth was revealed, not only in relation to Matt 24/25, but also others such as 2 Thess 2:3 etc. In spite of my need to recognise that I was in error, the truth is acknowledged and received is so very liberating. It seems the Spirit of Truth is indeed a friend to those who love His truth. Thankyou Andy, from my heart to yours. See you in the cloud.

i am with you on everything except "of that day and hour no one knows" can't be talking about unbelievers because the "Angels" and the "Son" are included in the "no one knows"... instead it must have something to do with the specific time it was said... in other words this is before the Ascension and before the Church age... when Jesus went to be with the Father i am sure everything became known to Him...

I have the same problem with their argument there. It is a big deal bc this is a very popular go to scripture for the rapture and has been quoted as such for generations. Now, I wonder what timeframe it really applies to bc surely it can't be the second coming believers have a clear timeline for that and so the angels and the son of man does too. I really want a better explanation.

Also, I have shared many of your teachings with others, especially my children. My daughter has, in turn, shared with her friends. You are making a difference. I really like Andy. I bought his "The Falling Away" book and subscribe and watch many of his videos. However, I have problems with his analogy on these points. 1. Paralambanó is not a technical term - I agree. However, the context should derive on whom is doing the taking to determine if it is good or bad result. I want to be taken by Jesus! I do not want to be taken by anybody else (the devil, government, etc.). 2. Day or hour - Revelation 6:15-17 (sixth seal) says "Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and free man, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?'" People will be fully aware God is coming before the very end of the tribulation. With the pre-trib departure and the second coming we won't know the exact day or hour. However, it will be a lot easier to guess at the end of the tribulation. 3. Normal life - I agree with Dave Hunt on this one. I think main stream pre-trib thought is giving away the farm on this one. There will be very little eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building and getting married at the end of the tribulation. This is the best proof text for the timing of the departure before the tribulation starts. The fig tree parable starts and ends with Matthew 24:32-35, Luke 21:29-33, and Mark 13:28-31. Most translations put headers indicating this is so. I don't believe the days of Lot and Noah, flash of light, one taken and one left, and dead bodies with vultures is a parable. The world will not see Jesus coming in the clouds, just a flash of light. I believe Jesus is telling us we will be leaving our flesh on earth. There will not be a resurrection at the pre-trib departure. Our spirit will be taken to be with Him! Those that are left on earth in their flesh will be swept away into the tribulation. Is losing your flesh a judgement? Yes. When we became aware of good and evil in the garden did God promise us a judgement? Yes. 4. Peri de - In Matthew 24 Jesus talked about the destruction of the temple (70 AD) and the end of the great tribulation in one conversation. Why couldn't He also talk about the pre-trib departure in the same conversation? The believing Jews were not worthy of the same teachings as the church? The disciples were Jews and they were also the church because they believed. The pre-trib departure is related to the second coming. It is prophecy. I believe Jesus was changing the subject and it is a related subject about the end of the age. 1:08:29 It looks like the glorified body change does happen at the end of the tribulation to me. That is when we will need a new body to live here on earth. We don't need a new body in heaven. We only need our spirit body. 1 Cor 15:50-53 says we will change. It does not say we will disappear. Here is how I think it might happen and the end of the great tribulation. 1. The last trumpet sounds 2. Jesus appears in the clouds with the saints and angels. 3. Some will repent (Zech 14:16) after the appearing and during the descent and enter the millennium in a mortal body. 4. Saints get their new bodies (in the air or on the earth). 5. Jesus arrives on earth in Jerusalem and the sheep, goats, tares, wheat, etc. are separated Maranatha!
@rick_h5 жыл бұрын
@Cave_4 Thanks for the reply. 1 Cor 15:51 says the last trump. The word "last" sounds post-trib to me. If there is a resurrection pre-trib, will there be another post-trib? If not, I guess those that died during the tribulation for Jesus are out of luck? Is it possible 1 Thes 4:13-17 is talking about two events (pre and post)? If not both, which verse talks about the resurrection post-trib? It would seem odd that 1 Thes 4:13-17 is describing both events.
@rick_h5 жыл бұрын
@Cave_4 Thanks again for the reply. I guess if there are multiple resurrections there must be multiple "last day" events also (John 6:39,40,43 and 54)? It doesn't make sense to me. It seems like there is only one "last day" resurrection. A shofar is also blown on Yom Kippur (last trumpet?) also. Feast of Trumpets lasts for 10 days. Sounds about right. I think the church is taken out (Luke 17:22-37) well before the seven years start. As far as populating the earth Zechariah 14:16 is interesting. Those that fought against Jerusalem are allowed into the millennium. I guess they become believers while Jesus descends from the clouds?
@rick_h5 жыл бұрын
@Cave_4 I could be wrong but I think the post-tribbers are 1/2 right and the pre-tribbers are 1/2 right. The resurrection is post-trib but there is also a pre-trib departure without a resurrection. I don't think we we don't disappear (Luke 17:22-37). Verse 37 says there are dead bodies after believers are taken. No resurrection but the Lord comes to get us before the tribulation.
@rick_h5 жыл бұрын
@Cave_4 Thanks for thinking about it. I would love to hear feedback even if it is negative. I know 1 Thes 4:13-18 coupled with 1 Cor 15:50-52 is believed to be pre-trib. But why would a saint who has been dead for a 1,000 years, come with Jesus for the pre-trib rapture, get a glorified body, and then go back to heaven for 7+ years, only to turn around after the 7+ years later with Jesus again to rule on reign on earth? With God anything is possible and it is His universe but it seems a little odd. In Luke 17:22-37 you don't see a trumpet, or a shout, or angels gathering, or the sun and moon going dark, or Jesus coming visibly in the clouds. Life is normal (eating, drinking, etc), there is a flash of light and then dead bodies. Why can't the pre-trib coming be just Jesus coming without the saints, and He simply takes our soul and spirit to heaven for the wedding feast/honeymoon for the length of the tribulation? After that we come back to earth with Jesus (1 Thes 14), get a glorified body and then rule and reign with Jesus for a 1,000 years. I don't know exactly what a glorified body is made up of but it sounds like we will need one on earth. For some reason, the surviving tribulation saints have to meet the Lord in the air to make the transformation. I doubt we need a glorified body heaven. In this video, Pastor Andy teaches Luke 17:22-37 is a post-trib event (the wicked are judged). He says we are reading into, or perhaps exaggerating the meaning of eating, drinking, etc. I think it is best timing clue we have. Life is normal before the end. Life is NOT normal at the end. There are a number of pastors (J.D. Farag, Jon Courson, Barry Stagner) who think 17 is pre-trib but treat verse 37 like an idiom or allegory. I think we can take the plain meaning. We leave our flesh on earth but our spirit and soul are taken to heaven to be with the Lord. Maranatha!

John MacArthur said that Jesus submission to the Father, ( Philippians 2. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross). Jesus voluntarily restricted Himself of this while still on earth prior to Crucifixion.

Really appreciate the delineation of the Gospel of the kingdom and the Gospel of grace and peace, given to the Apostle Paul. That was from your last teaching. The KJV uses the word eagles as opposed to vultures in Luke 17:37. The connotation of eagles as vultures perplexed me. Vultures makes sense.

My only remaining confusion is the comparison always made to a Jewish wedding when talking about the rapture, Jesus coming for His bride prior to the start of the tribulation. In the Jewish wedding tradition, the father tells the son its time to go and get your bride, “ no one knows not even the Son but the Father only.” If we don’t have this verse as relating to the trib, how do we connect those two things (rapture and Jewish wedding) and are we not now reduced to only a couple of vague verses when trying to explain the rapture to ppl who don’t see it as a real thing?
@marcyoverby38172 жыл бұрын
Hi Miss Ruthie7. This might explain the Jewish wedding Tribulation. Revaluation 19:9_10 and the relations to the Church..I did a study on the Jewish Wedding and how it Correlate to the marriage supper of the Lamb. Rev 19:9 _10.

Regarding transcripts - on videos with Closed Captions enabled like this one, you can click the 3 dots under the lower right corner of the video and select 'Open Transcript' and it will appear in a Transcript window to the right of the video window. You can then click the 3 vertical dots in that window and select 'Toggle Timestamps' to get rid of those. Now you can copy and paste the text into a blank document. This transcript is done by computers not smart enough to distinguish between multiple speakers and will most likely not handle punctuation and capitalization well. In addition, some words will not be transcribed properly. For instance, Andy's church shows up not as Sugar Land Bible Church, but as "circle and bible church." BTW, the channel owner can edit that transcription and fix mistakes if they are so inclined and can find the time!

I think the reason why some people think this the rapture instead of the second coming is because it sounds like life will be pretty normal when this happens. At the second coming at the end of the tribulation life will be anything but normal.

That’s why what Dr Andy woods is saying doesn’t make sense.
@kristenspencer97514 жыл бұрын
OK Question? I'm trying hard to follow and wanting to grasp. I'm learning much. My question is: In a previous teaching by Andy, he used the story of Lot to make a case for the fact that no one is "left behind" as far as the church being raptured. He argued from Peter that Lot was righteous and the angel could not do anything until Lot was taken safely out of the city. Good Point. I'm tracking. But then, Dr. Woods is using the same story of Lot to argue that taken and left (from Matthew Olivet) is about the 2nd coming at the Millenial reign. One is "taken" to judgment, and the other enters into the Millenium. So I'm just confused. Can it be Both? Can someone help enlighten me?

Thanks so much for your teaching brother Andy. I have just one question, you didn't mention the angels in Matthew 24:36. Surely the angels in heaven would know that at the end of the seven year tribulation the Lord will return to the earth. Even though the unbelievers would not know the hour of the day, surely the angels in heaven would.
@michelecomfort59816 жыл бұрын
I Noticed that also. I mean they read it. The angels and according to Pastor Woods bible it also stated the Son doesn't know either? Very confused about that if it's the trib. Everything else makes sense. But that is something very pertinent that needs to be explained.
@mikef60636 жыл бұрын
Does it say they would never know, or specifically that they didn’t know back when it was written? Could it be like saying “I don’t know when my wife is coming home”, but then if I see her car at the end of the street I will know then? Just a thought. Not sure.

Excellent teaching. I learned so much. I’m still a little confused on the part where Jesus says of that day nobody knows except the Father. A further ppov on just this passage would be greatly appreciated. God bless.
@mbfrommb36996 жыл бұрын
The way I understand this part is #1) no one knows the day or the hour when the rapture will occur so because the rapture is the first domino to fall Christ's return is also unknown. #2 Also since the tribulation period begins the signing of the peace treaty between the Antichrist and Israel and that event is unknown until it's known, the countdown won't begin. Just some thoughts.
@mikef60636 жыл бұрын
Disagree with the first part, agree with the second part. Disagree because the Rapture could be 100 years before the Tribulation starts or it could be the day before. So because of that, it really has no impact on when the Trib starts, it just hasvthe be prior.

In the past that might have been true as there are no prophecies that are required to be fulfilled so the Rapture could have happened years ago. However Jesus says in Matthew 24:32 that the generation that sees Israel reborn will not pass away. They will see Jesus returns at His second coming. So since Israel was reborn in a day prophesied by Isaiah and Matthew 24 on May 14, 1948. There isn't 100 years left of history because that would make a person born on May 14, 1948 be 170 years old. Psalm 90:10 give ages of 70-80 years. I would also encourage you to study the Gog/Magog war of Ezekiel 38-39 and Revelation 6 the 6th seal. I believe that these events are the same as there are a number of similarities between them. And if the 6th seal is opened after the Rapture Revelation 4:1 and the countries listed in the Gog/Magog war are assembled on Israels borders then the question is do you think Russia, Iran, Turkey are just going to sit there for 100 years? I don't know exactly when the Rapture will take place but it's not 100 before the Tribulation. I believe there may be a 5 year gap but that's it. The chaos the rapture would cause globally will create the perfect storm for the Antichrist to rise rather quickly, however not immediate. It won't be decades and decades. The tribulation also won't happen immediately after the rapture because The Gog/Magog war say no one helps Israel but the Bible says that the Antichrist will sign a 7 year peace treaty Daniel 9 to begin the Tribulation so how will Israel go from no nation on earth willing to help and facing global anti-semtism that they trust this leader enough to sign a 7 year peace treaty? It doesn't make logical sense. However only God knows but I have done years of research and this seems to be a brief synopsis of my understanding. I believe based on where we are and biblical signs we are within 5 years of the Rapture and another 5 years for the Tribulation. Even if you said that a person born in 1948 will see Jesus when they are 100 years old then the latest the Tribulation could begin is 2041 which is 22 years away. Again there are other indicators from the Bible that tell us we are much closer than that.

Ive been studying these passages over the summer and could not figure out why these were taken, for rapture or judgement. The reason why i couldn’t understand is why are the others left? Was wondering if there was good teaching on this and 💥 here it is in my suggested videos. God uses even KZbin with all its godlessness for His purposes!

Thanks again for the teaching clarification. At 15:50 you referenced Paul in Acts 17:31 which actually states something different. I think you meant Acts 16:31. I actually found that one on my first cup of coffee of the morning - lol

So much misinterpretation associated with Matthew 24 within the Watchmen community. Many of the most popular folks on social media beat the doctrinal drums of error on multiple fronts related to this chapter. The fig tree generation. Endure to the end to be saved. One taken one left. And on it goes. Thank you for holding the line of truth in calling it red, even when the majority have on blue shades that discolor their ability to see clearly that it ain't blue, no matter how many people say it is.

wow, thank you for this illumination, I've always thought that the taken was the raptured one.

Doesn't the Greek word "harpazo" mean "caught up" or "taken by force" (word used in 1 Thess 4:16) describe the Rapture? Those "taken" in Matthew 24 are not "caught up" with Christ to heaven, but "taken" to judgment.

The Greek word for "taken" in the "one taken and one left" is paralambano which means to take and receive, not take and destroy.

Thank you for this, I have believed that this portion of scripture was not in reference to the rapture for a long time as it did not fit the context.

You boys are doing a good work teaching of ELOHMI'S WORD to others. Thank you and Blessings! Why does GODS WORD say, Blessed are those that wait till the 1335 days are up?

Every pre trib teacher/preacher I've ever heard have said the "no one knows the day or the hour.." verse, is about the rapture so they also use the rest to prove the rapture also. But, when the bible says "no one" without qualifying that word himself, then I was taught to take it exactly as he said it. No one, means no one. Paul pretty much said we won't know either. He eludes to it but doesn't come right out and say it like Jesus did. Paul sorta lets us know we will know the season but not the time. So, I get from that, no one means no one even when Paul spoke of it. The sinners won't have a clue, but the saved will know it's close. The Noe passage could fit the rapture or the second coming, actually. Noe, had no clue when they would enter the ark either. So, everyone was caught surprised. The difference is that Noe, family was always faithful and doing God's will, righteous in their ways. The one in the field, one taken the other left, to me Jesus made it a point that life will be normal but those who were not ready, were left behind. Remember, he talked about Noe, life was normal then the flood came. No, I agree with Dave Hunt and many others on this one. When I heard you teach this before, it broke me down. It confused me. I cried and was so distressed over this cuz I trust your understanding a lot! But, this is the passage that gets me through these hard times. This is my life preserver passage. So, no, I don't go with your understanding because I NEED this!

Andy Woods Hello! Could you please help me with a conflict I am having in my conscience about one aspect of your argument? First, I am a believer in the pretribulation rapture! :) I believe that at his coming WE will appear with him in glory as clearly read. At that point, I believe that Jesus will send his angels to gather his elect to get them out of the way for the destruction which is about to occur to those who remain and their carcasses will be laying around. The difference between the rapture and his second coming is that at the rapture Jesus HIMSELF gathers his body and at his second coming he sends his angels to gather his elect. I can only believe that those who remain are again the unbelievers and that they won't be judged until the resurrection of the dead at the great white throne judgment after the Millenial reign. Thank you! Even so, come Lord Jesus!

The Lord will descend with a shout, accompanied by the voice of the Archangel, and the trump of God (cf 1 Cor.15:52); the dead in Christ will be resurrected; and then those remaining will be caught up with them in the clouds. Have you had the supernatural encounter, experience in the Holy Spirit, when he takes up resident on the inside of your heart -- Luke 11:9-13; John 14:17, 16:7-15; Acts 1:8, 2:1-5, and Chapt.10. There are many other scriptures as well! I am so grateful to Jesus Christ, that I believed, and have been baptized in the Holy Ghost. And I have prayed with others to receive the indwelling, and have the power to cast demonic spirits out of people, through the Holy Spirit's power in Jesus Christ Name.

Eagles, Road Kill, and Other Things: Before I came to understand the distinctiveness of the revelation that our Lord gave to Paul (1 Timothy 1:11,16). And before I came to understand what rightly dividing the word of truth really meant. (2 Tim 2:15.) And before I came to the knowledge of the truth of the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery (Romans 16:25). I remember being told that the rapture of the church, the body of Christ, was in Matt. 24:37~42 and Luke 17:33~37, as well as in 1 Thess. 4:13~18 and 1 cor. 15: 51~53. I mean Larry Norman wrote a song about it called ‘I wish We’d All Been Ready, and there was even a movie about it called Left Behind. God knows we all wanted to be ready and of course nobody in their right mind wanted to be left behind. The verse that gave me pause was Luke 17:37. ‘And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. ‘ The disciples asked an honest question and the Lord gave them an honest answer. I remembering asking what that verse meant and not getting an honest answer. The answer is simple when one puts things in context and rightly divides the word of truth. Jesus is talking about his 2nd coming to the earth at the end of the tribulation to set up his Kingdom on the earth. The parable of the tares found in Matthew 13:24~39 is a great help here. The parable preceding it is the parable of the sower in which we see the gathering of the little flock, the seed being the word of God. In the parable of the tares the good seed are the children of the Kingdom (Matt. 13:38). In the first parable Christ gathers the little flock together. In the second parable Christ sends them out into the world after he ascends to heaven. During the tribulation Satan the master counterfeiter will be sowing his seeds as well and there will be many false converts and many false teachers. These are represented by the tares. The tribulation will be a purging of who is the true believer and who is not. During this time Jesus says don’t worry so much about the tares for I will take care of them in my own time. You guys worry about the harvest and bringing in the wheat. I will have my angels take care of the tares in due time. Please read the parable in Matt. 13:24~30 and the interpretation in Matt. 13: 36~43. The due time is when the Son of Man comes back and all the holy angels with him. Matt. 25:31. One job that the holy angels will have will be to gather the unbelieving tares and cast them into hell (matt. 13:41~42, 3:12) where they will be until the resurrection of all the lost and be judged at the great white throne judgment. At the end of the tribulation the armies of the nations will surround Jerusalem Zechariah 14:3~4. Then the Lord himself will fight for his nation, his feet land will stand on the same place He took off from and split the Mt. of Olives in half. That will create a great valley where the battle of Armageddon will be fought (Rev. 16:16). It will be a great slaughter. See it happen in Rev. 19:11~21 Rev. 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. This is the fulfilment of Luke 17:33~37 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. This is where the ones taken will be taken. They (the tares) will be taken to judgment while the children of the Kingdom will be left behind to go into the Kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world. The bodies of the ones taken in judgment will be eaten by the fowls of the air while their souls will go into everlasting fire where they will be until the 2nd resurrection only to be tried at the GWT and then cast into the lake of fire. Matt. 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Psalms 1:4~5 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. The ones in the trib who desire to save their carcasses will lose them in the judgment as well as their souls when Christ comes back. They are the ones who will not be standing when it’s all said and done…only to be eaten by birds Luke 17:33, Jer.7:33, Matt. 24:28, Ez.39:4, Job 39:26~30 Ezekiel 39:17~21 is, I think, the event that our Lord alludes to in Luke 17:33 So, next time you are driving on the highway and see a bird of prey eating a dead carcass of some unfortunate victim of recent roadkill. Be thankful that we are not appointed unto wrath. That we as members of the body of Christ will be taken up to meet the Lord in the air before the dreadful day of the Lord. Have you trusted that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the 3rd day? Have you believed that the blood he shed was the total and complete payment for all your sin? Have you laid all your deadly doing down and put your faith in his finished work? If you have then you are a child of the Most High God. If you haven’t ..well then you are a future roadkill… Choose wisely my friend, choose wisely. Remember that ‘The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom’. Proverbs 9:10a. es

Dr Andy, I know this is an old video, but I enjoy much of your teachings....I have a question about the passage of Matthew 24:36 though, isn’t the day and hour He’s talking about the day that the heavens and the earth pass away? Verse 35 seems to me to be the context of verse 36. That’s what makes me think that verse 36 has nothing to do with a rapture or of His returning at all. Am I wrong about verse 35?
