When quarterbacks throw 3 or 4 picks, people will just say they’re having an off day. When kickers miss one extra point, make 4 of them, and get a 50+ yard field goal, and have a great game beside one kick, people will say they need to be cut.
@rjdriver88
@rjdriver88 4 жыл бұрын
As a football player my whole life.... when the kicker misses, you want to kill them. Because all they do is kick. They don’t do sprints in practice. They don’t have to hit in practice. They don’t do anything in practice except kick. That’s where the animosity comes from.

@jeremyc9593
@jeremyc9593 4 жыл бұрын
Exactly.The worst thing is him saying "...kind of embarrassing" at the end of his reply, when his original take was far, far more embarrassing. I seriously can't fathom how someone would think kickers should make every kick. I have no problem with the kid, but what he said is truly mind-blowingly stupid.
@m.m.3029
@m.m.3029 4 жыл бұрын
@@jeremyc9593 It is truly baffling, the idea that a person could complete ANY physical task perfectly 100% of the time is absurd. The idea that they could do so under duress, in extreme circumstances (wind, rain, snow, the insane distances the NFL/CFB Kickers kick from) it means he hasn't though about it critically for literally one second. The reason they need a specialist (I.E. a Kicker) to do it, is because it is so difficult. Hard to believe a person who performs tasks at a high level themselves wouldnt know/understand that.
@jasonreyes6582

And ninjas job is to win fortnite games. And he doesn't win every game. So his argument is moot. Kickers have dudes twice their size trying to throw them to the ground and they have to trust that their protection is gonna hold.

I play and watch a lot of Fortnite streamers, and every single streamer - Ninja included - has had many moments where they choked in a fight. Nerves and adrenaline start pumping and you make the smallest of a wrong move and lose. Streamers do this from the comfort of their home, athletes (kickers) have this pressure + the added crowd noise, giant men rushing at them to block the kick, and a loss/miss hurts the teams season. Whereas a loss in any video game you just have to que up for the next game
@thespongemonkey
@thespongemonkey 4 жыл бұрын
I will say Ninja is a former E-sports pro, so you can't ALWAYS queue up for the next game, but in his current streaming environment that's definitely true.

@denimchicken104
@denimchicken104 4 жыл бұрын
Add to that the fact that these pro kickers have been doing it for years since they were kids. Then they’re out there staring down the uprights and are about to attempt a kick that may or may not ruin their entire hopes for a career. That’s some monstrous pressure that a video game just doesn’t compare to.
@johnnycrain8142
@johnnycrain8142 4 жыл бұрын
Matthew Jung The pressure just can't be compared. In Football you have tens of millions of people watching you and tens of thousands of fans present making an absurd amount of noise compared to esports which maybe have a few million viewers and no present audience with no crowd volume. The comparison is just stupid.

This response really impressed me. It would have been easy for Pat to just say something like "he just has to click a mouse what the hell does he know?" I love video games and I wouldn't fault him for a reply like that. But instead, Pat breaks down exactly why kicking is so difficult, gives props to Ninja for his achievements (despite not being a gamer himself), and still calls out an ignorant statement without mincing words. Pat may love making fun of himself for being "dumb" but he's clearly a thoughtful and intelligent speaker. The success of this show is no accident.

That's because you need to train yourself to say the correct thing in the correct manner. Ninja has never used his finances to make sure he hires someone that's good at public speaking. He just put out cringe hot takes which made everyone dislike him.
@jmreeves89
@jmreeves89 2 жыл бұрын
I felt he gave Ninja TOO much credit lol Ninja had the privilege of never having to work and could dedicate all of his time to his one game of choice. College football provides the closest thing to that for football players, and of the 1000s of players who get to focus solely on football, 1% make it. Not to mention that when ninja does poorly, he blames rng, changes to the game, etc whereas to make it as a pro football player, it's on you solely.

Comments like these are something that baffles me. 'Ninja' is an internet personality, he knows his audience and performs for his audience. 9/10 times reactions are amplified for content. When you watch a movie do you associate the morals and personalities of the characters to the actors portraying them? Am I saying that it's all an act? Absolutely not but people do need to understand the difference between a person and their online personality when they are streaming. Another keen example of this would be the streamer Dr. Disrespect who has taken on a very cocky and over the top personality wig and all. But then you have streamers that are just themselves and interact with chat In a chill manner such as shroud. When streaming these people are first and foremost entertainers for their audience plain and simple. That's the best way I can explain it and I know this is long winded but it's not really a short topic.

I hit 2 from 25... 1 from 35... and 0 from 40.. kicking is extremely hard and def takes talent to do what these kickers do. I will never throw shade at a Kicker ever again. PURE RESPECT. I do really really really enjoy hearing your obvious passion for the kicking game, Pat. Dolphins fan. Always loved Brandon Fields and Matt Turk. The kicking game matters! I watched Fields end opposing offenses by repeatedly forcing them to string together long drives. Hang time, distance, accuracy, that stuff all matters to the coverage unit and defense. Anyway, thanks for talking about the kicking game. More, please.

I don't think it's fair to diss a massive industry just because Ninja's a clown. As someone who's a fan of both the NFL and esports, Ninja is a popular content creator, but he's not a massive competitor, I think it's something that gets overlooked by people outside of gaming, he's more of a youtuber than a player. And most people who follow esports acknowledge that he's done very well for himself, but he is a clown who entertains children for a living

True story, when I was young, I went to a Packers camp as a kid, and looking for autograph from Brett Farve, Sterling Sharpe, and Reggie White, and I was scrambling to find Reggie, but he was surrounded by other kids while on a bike, and there where someone walking down, and my stepdad said what about him, and I said no that's not who I'm looking for and he said something to the effect, "it's okay, I'm just a kicker" we laughed but fk, kickers don't have an easy job and as I grew up I have so much respect them....

Kicking field goals is absolutely NOT easy, I agree with you, Pat! And just because you are an NFL kicker doesn't mean that you can't possibly miss a field goal. Everyone makes mistakes, that is part of being human. Justin Tucker, who is the most accurate kicker in NFL history, has missed a couple of field goals throughout his career. It happens. People make mistakes. Also, like Pat said in the video, there's a lot of pressure on you, which makes it even more difficult. It's like in basketball, when you try to make a free throw. The shot is wide open, but that doesn't mean you are guaranteed to make every single shot. Even the all-time greats make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, that's part of being human! Nobody is perfect!

Tyler was on twitch during halo reach days 10+ years ago and posted on KZbin. Has always been an entertainer. When twitch gained more traction, he was the only one who was consistently uploading and kept his A game on FPS and he rotated to the popular game rather than sticking to halo. Even though halo is back. Straight business man.
