I love it. I stan Pat's foundation and concealer line! Best range of shades AND undertones in foundations and concealers in the market - Pat even remembered to represent olive undertones for light skin and dark skin which is almost unheard of

The only thing I hate about this foundation is the 4th ingriedient is alcohol As you said. Just pure alcohol! Not one that is fatty alcohol that is good for the skin. But, for my dry skin( from tretinoin and aha's/bha's) this was one of the 1st real foundations that looked AMAZING on me in a super long time. Most foundations cling to my dry patches. But, sadly it is not something I would use often due to the high alcohol content in it. And I loved it.

Thanks for another great review and for always being YOU, not an influencer. I LOVE this formula. I have your same complexion (almost) and I mix light 5, with medium 15 (one pump of each). I get the perfect color and I can customize depending on my tan level. I can also highlight the center and bronze the edges with them separately. I do agree 100% that fingers work best, and I am not surprised, as "mother" mentions it in many interviews, she ONLY uses fingers fo foundation and she likes to massage it in until it literally becomes one with your skin. I have mature skin, and l am always looking for something that will be "kind" on my face... that is why I have a LOT of hight end foundations (the ones above $200, please don't judge me.. part of the joys of aging), this one beats a lot of them but a long run.

Loved this video and feel like you gave a true review of this foundation. For me, there's no way I can justify $90 CDN on such a finicky formula. On top of that, while I can get behind the idea of alcohol in foundation for quick dry-down etc, it is absolutely a cheap af ingredient, making this foundation really about paying for the brand name. That might be fine for some, but for me, I think I'll stick to Hourglass, Natasha Denona, and the new ABH and Fenty foundations. :)

I completely agree. That big of a price tag for a finicky formula cannot be justified in my books, no matter how beautiful the ultimate result. I get the impression that had this foundation been released at any other point in time besides now, the crest of Pat's popularity on social media, this foundation would probably have been tried once and then promptly forgotten by many beauty gurus.

This foundation has frustratingly become my new favorite... I say frustratingly because it is so expensive, but it is so good. Even though my skin tends towards dry I always set this because the system Pat McGrath developed includes a primer and a powder, so I feel like it is intended to be powdered (although I don't use her powder because $$$). I tried the PMG primer and sent it back pretty quickly because it did nothing to improve the look or performance of the foundation for me personally and for $60USD it better be amazing. This foundation wears so exceptionally well on my skin and looks so much like just skin it was shocking honestly. I work in the skincare development industry and sometimes I need to access areas of our facility that require us to wear safety glasses, hard hats, hairnets etc... This DOES NOT MOVE where many other foundations tend to wear off or cake or slide in areas where our PPE touches/rubs. I fully expected to have issues with this moving because it is so light in coverage/texture but it holds on like crazy... I have not had the issues you mentioned with lifting but I agree that it isn't super buildable. I always use the Charlotte Tilbury contour wand and I also wear cream blush almost daily, and this performs beautifully underneath for me. My main issue, aside from the price, was finding a shade match. I have notoriously frustrating skin to match because I am olive but not super tan. I picked this up in Light Medium 14, which claims to be a neutral olive, but it reads much more golden than neutral on my skin. This will also not work for me in the winter. I may need to try a more cool toned shade and then use an olive undertoned bronzer to warm it up a bit, or buy another shade to mix with which thinking of frankly makes me feel queasy at this price. This is a constant frustration for me, literally nothing matches me properly, but I had high hopes for LM14 so I was seriously bummed. That aside, this is a wonderful foundation if you don't mind sheerer coverage and can stomach the price tag.

Spot on about the lift! No matter what I tried with it, it didn’t want to really meld with my skin. It also was super finicky with certain primers. I got the dreaded polka dotty pores too many times to consider this a keeper. Back it went. Love the Armani luminous tho!

Loved the review thanks! Been using this over a month now more or less and I love it. If you powder it, it won’t lift. I’m normal to dry and sensitive and I powder than foundation strategically. If I set then it doesn’t lift, it’s not tacky anymore and it lasts all day! The Hourglass powder and this one go together great!

Hi Karima! I can't emphasise enough on how much I try to learn from u. I've been doing makeup since almost 5 years but I still end up looking cakey, the contouring etc. fades away and my dark circles peek through even after applying concealer. Hiding a dark blemish seems impossible & I haven't even figured out how to colour match my foundation yet. (I'm ur skin tone) Please please do more videos demonstrating your professional advice. And please use cheaper products as well (I'm broke haha) I want to learn how to enhance my features without looking cakey - You, Lisa Eldridge and Mohammed Hindash are the only muas I watch now a days.

Your opinion on this foundation was the one I was looking most forward to! I've noticed pilling when layering this with silicone-based products since this is water based. I appreciate that since silicone tends to clog my pores, but I'm still on the hunt for a primer that's compatible with this formula while regulating my oily skin. The hyaluronic acid's a bit much for my oily skin in tropical climates, but it's perfect after my skin's dehydrated from a flight or in dryer climates.

Stephanie Pham I think it’s actually silicone based! Usually water will always be the first ingredient to “bind” (afaik) and then the next ingredient will be the bulk base ingredient. This is what I found from my time on r/makeupaddiction anyway

I've watched three videos testing this Pat McGrath foundation, and every time I think it looks and performs just like my Missha BB Cream (my HG) in that it's sheer to medium, smooth, doesn't settle into lines. Seeing as the Missha is buildable and doesn't lift, I'm going to skip the PM foundation because DAS ESSpeNsIve!

Regarding your experiences with lifting. Sam ravendahl talked about a method a couple months ago of applying cream cheek products before foundation, so I'd love to see you do a video testing that with this specific foundation!

I liked this foundation. Only got a sample of it. Found the colour good as am pale olive too, but I got the number 6. Didn't have issues with it lifting but looks like I put a fair bit less product on than you. Stuck my finger tip in the sample pot and that did my whole face. I prefer a sheerer cover though :) i used a number of cream products over the top - Chanel bronzer and Nudesticks. Would buy it. Would like to see you try the Fenty. I didn't find it at all dewy! And the neutral colours were very strange, kind of grey... They have a light Olive but it was too yellow for me, didn't have that green colour the KGD has. I have normal, mature skin.

I know it’s extremely boujee to do this but I applied this foundation after chanel fresh water tint. As a result, no lifting, last all day and the finish is like ur skin but better lol I also do this w Armani to go cushion and the finish is magnificent 💗 I have oily skin btw
