If you dont know Pat Metheny Group -you are missing out on so much GREAT MUSIC !

It's as though this song perfectly narrates the story of creation... both the aesthetic & synthetic qualities working as one... the energy, the ecstasy... this is BEAUTIFUL!! 🤗🤗💖💖🔥🔥

His understanding of the creative process is extraordinary, and though he is one of the few musicians that can be identified with a specific sound, his explorations as an artist are without boundaries. As is the case with most forward-thinking work, it may be years before the essence of his art form is fully understood.

When i was young my family used to take our boat and live on the essex river for a week digging clams and zooming around different saltwater areas. This was on at dinnertime nearly every night and no matter when i listen to this music it transports me right back. Thank you Pat words cannot describe the memory

Pat Metheny went on a 20 year stretch (from Bright Sized Life in 1976 to We Live Here in 1995) were his creative genius took his sound to some remarkable heights. I had the privilege of hearing this man live back in 1996 when he was on tour following his We Live Here album. One of the greatest music experiences of my life.

@julioradrigan5 жыл бұрын

Ahora está un poco cambiado por la llegada del Metro. its the time signatues used in the main theme two bars of 5/4 followed by a bar of 7/4 .
@InHeartheD6 жыл бұрын
It's the way the ryhthm is divided. Try counting to 5, then another 5, and then 7. An easy way to do this is through the Takadimi technique, in which case it would be "Takadimi (5), Takadimi (5), Tavakididamati (7)".

I have worked with some of the world's most respected jazz performers and Metheny is too full of himself. He dislikes John M. and "The Mothers" but Jaco who was NOT AT ALL FULL of himself hahaha bipolar. Chic is the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with R.I.P./RTF, now he was real. I did try to understand Pat is too convinced that his music will win the hearts of true jazz fanatic's. Not this one sorry.

By John M., are you referring to John Otto Mahma, the alto sax player Because J. O. Mahma can do things with two hands and a mouth that bring a grown man to tears of joy.
