i like the chill atmosphere of DT. like, after EW where we cleaned up the last of the WORLD SPANNING, THOUSANDS OF YEARS IN THE MAKING super evil, having what is essentially a holiday with a (not so) friendly competition honestly feels rather refreshing. sure there are some grating things, and some parts that could be sped up (i know it's an RPG/MMO thing, but can we please have less "go here, come back to report, go another spot, come back to report, now go here, now return to report, now we can continue" parts? we have linkpearls for this exact reason. tell them on the phone dammit) but so far it's been nice.

Pat is never as white as when he sees a foreign/foreign-inspired word and doesn't even try to pronounce it right and just completely butchers it.

Just finished the MSQ myself today, enjoyed it quite a lot, feels like most of the complaints are just it not being to people's tastes or nitpicking. Had several moments where I literally went "oh boy, can't wait to see Pat's reaction to THIS" so I'm watching this now, lol

I think that, for the most part, my enjoyment of Dawntrail skyrockets exponentially when there's not a thousand little bitches in my ear telling me that it's not good. I like all the characters and locales, the more chill vibe is much appreciated after the emotional onslaught of SB and EW, and even though there's been a boneheaded choice or two I've mostly been happy, intrigued, and even hyped. Can't ask for much more.

The golf part exposed everything. Last time I swung a golf club was 35 years ago and my friend lost a tooth. 30 years ago he winked at me while he took out the fake tooth before a fight. He did more in the next minute than that entire "debate". Those dudes were already in their 50s telling us to get off their lawn. Ain't touched grass since lol

@@ThanaroaEven if it is, Lamat is literally just Lyse done better. We get to actually see her do shit and be a leader instead of just being told she is.

@ExaltedUriel I can that she's more enjoyable than lyse... for the first half. The issue is that she dominates the entirety of the expansion, more interesting story elements are pushed out of the way for wuk lamat to talk even more. Sphene says 3400 lines where wuk says 7000. Sphene has the 2nd most likes in the xpac. Wuk says 22% of all lines the whole time. We are relegated to a baby sitter, we never get to talk directly to sphene. Wuk also just said mostly inane and pointless shit in the second half. Additionally her invading at the end of the trial and contributing nothing story wise was absolute dogshit

@@Thanaroa >Line count Obviously Lamat has more lines than Sphene, she's in the entire expansion whereas Sphene only shows up in the second half. >WoL doesn't even get to talk to Sphene Except that they do, multiple times. Did you forget we're basically a silent protagonist outside of scant few dialogue options? When has the WoL said ANYTHING that impacted the story (that wasn't just repeating or relaying another character's words)? >Lamat in the final Trial That was dope and if you hate it you hate fun, that feels like getting mad that the Scions' prayer saved you in Endsinger because you wanted to be the big hero all by yourself.

It would be really nice if you kept the stream chat on the screen during theses. Often times Pat will start a sentance and trail off or get distracted and as a VOD only watcher it helps for context. Is there a reason he doesn't keep chat on the screen specifically for streams like this?

Part of it is probably because this layout lets him cover the in-game chat with his face.

this expansion seems to be getting some negative reaction, which is a shame. But I have to admit from binging ARR through Endwalker I feel almost no drive to come back for Dawntrail.

I like it so far, only three half zones and a dungeon in so far. Lighter story with no huge conflict yet. Just an enjoyable journey with likeable npc, and some you are ment to hate that are easily hateable. Playing between work, and don't have the huge drive that I must finish it now. More that, I look forward to the time I get

It's turning around more and more with time. I think the tone was just set by some very loud people who didn't like the first 1-2 levels and then started skipping.

@@danhectic5629 I think they mean like get some compressed air and blow that fucker out, it's probably overheating due to dust bulidup and that causes crashes more than anything
