@@Shadest Yeah they learned it by watching him. I swear most twitch chats are just wait to hear what the streamer's opinion is then parrot the hell out of it so you can be seen as agreeing with them. Pat's chat has turned as cynical as he has.

@@normalmighty I agree which is why I and probably others stopped watching Pat and what's left in his chat are the hyper cynical ones that agreed with him. Listening to the podcast at least Woolie is there to get some good contrast. And I get it, there's often not a lot to be enthusiastic about in the industry, I'm not saying Pat needs to clap when he sees the thing, but watching Pat be overly cynical about damn near everything is exhausting and not fun. If it is for you, go nuts

I always thought corsair was highly unlikely because it sounded too similar to machinist or a thief variant. That said, Viper just appears to be super thief to me so...i guess it was perfectly possible

Viper is literally Zidane, so you're on the money. Viper is a nickname of his, and he uses two shortswords that combine into a twinblade. Then you throw in that trance mode

@questingmoo oh? I didn't see the trance mode. Maybe that's the direction they're going. Make new jobs based on unique FF character battle styles. As far as I know Gunblade is only in FF8 and Astrologian is only in FF6, etc.

corsair is synonymous with gambler in at least some games, so i was excited for a gambling job lol. imagine u cant pass a dps check because your rolls are bad, or you cant bet on the right roulette space, or the right chocobo in a race or something lol, would be hilarious. i was hoping all the job meters would be a different thing to gamble on. in stranger of paradise, gambler/corsair/trickster has a roulette wheel that can do one of many different special moves when spun, and has a chance to spin multiple times, as well as "Too Bad" spaces that would put the move on a longer cooldown. they also have a blackjack system, where every special move they do draws a card, with the total displayed on the buff and above the character's head. activating it again would have different effects depending on how close to 21 you are, but going over would put the move on a longer cooldown. it was a pretty fun job to play, my friend and i cheesed a few difficult bosses with incredibly lucky roulettes too lol

Looking forward to seeing what niche viper will fill in the dps space. I know they said it will be one of the most technical classes so maybe there's some element of style switching involved. Can't wait for that flowchart.

Going off of how ridiculous Reaper was on launch (and tbh still is) its safe to assume it will demolish the DPS charts considering its scouting brethren consistently gets close to the top of the DPS charts.
