I don't know if anyone has pointed it out, but it seems like the codec ring tone sounds all fucked up, but *only* in Raiden's section of the game, I remember this being a thing all the way back on the original PC port of MGS2 in like 2004, I use to just think it was bad port nonsense, but no it's been a thing in every iteration of this game. Watching this LP and being a Resonant Arc Analysis fan is very funny, as a big chunk of the content I am consuming currently is really all the same discussions and trivia about MGS2 as both channels are currently engaged with the game. EDIT: Fun data mining fact about the original PC port, there are tons of unused audio files from the game, including Snake yelling "LA-LI-LU-LI-LOOOOOOOOO~" in a way I have never, ever heard him speak at any point in the series, there's a ton of weird shit like that, stuff that is just never used (or was possibly cut)

Pat playing MGS2 got me to load up my old copy of Substance again for the first time in over a decade. I’d warmed up to MGS2 when I better understood the narrative as I got older but, in returning to actually playing it, it’s super fun! Clearly part of my frustration towards it as a kid was because I just sucked at it lol

At least on the 360 version, pressing down on the dpad acted as a light hold iirc. For aiming your weapon that is. I think throat slitting in 3 was done by clicking the left stick but its been a while
