@CrystalBahamut Considering the amount of batshit insane people the comunity atracts there definitely are people who think he wrote all metal gears 30 years ago all along

Metal Gear 1 is novel infiltration action spy stuff, 2 introduces the political theming of the cold war, nuclear proliferation, and the wars in the middle east over oil. Solid introduces the concept of a sovereign nation organizing false flag attacks against itself to establish a permanent war economy which exists to serve a profit motive for a select handful of individuals. Solid 2 introduces the concept of self-determination and identity politics in a world which does not value those things in favor of self-destruction. It also introduces the philosophical concepts of manufacturing consent, and the implementation of an alternative reality based on the interpretation of factual events subjective to the individual which feeds back into the first point of self-determination and identity. Solid 3 is about letting go of the past and letting it die in order to create a better future, even at great cost to the individual. It's about how we are fundamentally incapable of perfectly following the ideology of people who came before us as a result of living in a completely different time and place - essentially an entirely different world. Solid 4 is about total war being the highest virtue of humanity, through which we create gods and monsters, and justify our nationally dictated beliefs and values through the eradication of a perceived enemy by which we become anointed in the eyes of our chosen God. Solid V is about how there are no right answers and how every action taken has an equal and opposite reaction.

Zanzibar Land, where it all went wrong. There are a few points in this game where it will be necessary to open your game manual and check for clues and hints as a built in piracy deterrent method, notably you will need to use the Knock Code Table in order to signal to a prisoner that you are rescuing them. There is also a bug in the earlier releases of MG2 which I am not sure if they fixed for this version which involves a smoke grenade in the later section of the game. The smoke will not appear to blow the correct way, so the port devs put in a workaround which allows you to simply bypass it, as long as you have used the smoke grenade in the correct spot to begin with. If you do not use it, you will simply fall to your death repeatedly.
