I just got there. Chat and Pat, hearing any strings: "Is this a Caelid?" Also the mystified "is this what Caelid used to look like?" was boner-brained. Yes. Caelid probably looked like a land mass with vegetation and water on it.

I'm still not wholly sure Mohg beat the allegations, Ansbasch is an obviously biased invididual, and we've seen that Miquella's enchantment doesn't change feelings/thoughts, just actions to an extent. Mohg did what he did inside the coccoon out of his own desires, even if the abduction was enchanted by Miquella. It's also possible that Miquella cannot always control his charm, the same way that Malenia both passively rots uncontrollably and has the ability to consciously use it.

Based on how Moore, Poison dude (I don’t know how to spell his name), and Hornsent talk, Miquella’s charm was indeed changing feelings/thoughts (especially Poison Dude since being charmed by Miquella made him forget about St. Trina)

@@Tony2-Dirty Okay but Miquella has no reason to inspire half the things Mohg does if he just needs to be abducted. Those people still to an extent have their own feelings (Thiollier is still into St Trina even if he only half remembers it). Hornsent talks about how he would kill us if not for the charm. People still are allowed to express their own opinions through the charm. I think it's a little more complicated than "Mohg beat the Allegations". Nobody else decided to do the nasty to Miquella in a blood soaked bed chamber to an outer god.

@@TheLordMagmar true, but based on the info given, Miquella needed Mohg to do that to him to get to the Land of Shadow. Now is Mohg a good guy? No, for f’s sake he actively and willingly worships a freaky blood goddess and does freaky blood things. But is he responsible for what he did regarding Miquella? Based on what we have learned in the DLC, he’s at best under mind control and at worst, warped coercion.

45:59 Okay I am going to point out that it does kind of matter. The main thing is that Pat is getting a lot of even scaling when normally you might not. That great katana is doing a lot more bleed because pat has a lot of investment in strength, dex, and arc, while most players are gonna have a lot of investment in one of those and maybe a bit in the others. Being able to also just use a lot of faith spells without weakening your melee stats is also a very strong thing to have. Like, it's not like he is using a weapon that scales off of one stat most of them scale off of two or three and unless you are specifically building for split damage most players just focus on one and do a dip into another depending on what they think is cool.

@@ThisAlbino They do but probably not enough to genuinely make more of a difference than buffs, armor, etc. strength and vigor are my only stats that are at or over 50 and I don't see a startling difference in how much damage I took compared to him

Pat's weird habit of finding a problem with a game that then evolves into "this game is completely worthless" is very annoying sometimes, like when he found FF16 too easy and then a month later declared it a pointless videogame because FF7 Rebirth's demo was better, only to later not like FF7 rebirth that much either. most of his complaints with DD2 are issues Dark Arisen also has, but he acts like they're not, and then he didn't finish the game because the second zone didn't have enough quests (it has plenty) and missed all the cool stuff at the end of the game.

I’m curious if he ever got to the post game area because I feel like if he did he wouldn’t be so negative about the game. I only discovered DD1 about a year or so before the DD2 reveal and fell in love with it and once I learned DD2 was just better DD1 I was ecstatic.

Anyone else think that Marika sending Messmer and his army to the Shadowlands was killing two birds with one stone? She gets rid of the Hornsent civilization but ALSO Messmer and his goons. All the flavor text on Messmer's soldiers gear implies that his troops were almost exclusively convicts or criminals or other people Marika would have deemed undesirable. Never mind that it is explicitly referred to as a crusade. This links back to the historical Crusades and how they were a thinly veiled attempt by European Royalty and the Pope to stabilize the social situation in Europe by sending a bunch of unmanageable, violent, armed young men (who would otherwise be bumming around the countryside making problems) off to die fighting foreigners who followed a different religion in direct opposition to the local ruling class.

When Pat mentioned Sonic 3, my eyes glazed over and I got teleported back to 1994 and I was so happy for a moment before I realized what time it was and that I have to get ready for work. Also, Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the greatest Sega Genesis game and I will fist fight anyone to preserve that claim. And then all the dragons did their Igon impression and just throng attacked Bayle on his mountaintop forever (dragon corpses littering Bayle's mountain). I figured millennia of fighting an infinite revenge horde whittled Bayle down to all his stumps.

Pat: I’m confused, I beat him in 4 tries. Me: YOU WERE LEVEL 300!!! It took that guy like 3 or 4 hits to kill you while people at normal levels for the DLC he took off 75% of their health with a single hit. That’s a big difference. For some reason, I really liked fighting the bear bosses in the DLC. If you get in there and fight them up close and personal, they're not too bad. Really makes you face your fears, in a way, since Runebears are such a notorious shitshow.

Maybe, but not necessarily. He wanted to look at Radahn's helmet because he found a lot of references to him and remembered he had horns. And he found a Marika themed gesture as an item out in the open in a game that already had two separate instances of using gestures to unlock stuff. Not a huge leap to assume it's significant.

Theres always the chance for Elden Ring to get a 2nd DLC and or 3rd DLC. 2nd DLC, focuses on "Those who live in Death" and Godwyns role as their supposed god. 3rd DLC, The Shattering and what really happened

Miyazaki confirmed back in May that this would be the only expansion. They felt that the traditional expansion release of something like DS2 or DS3 would interfere with the sense of exploration that Elden Ring has, so they pretty much wrapped two or three content packs worth of DLC into one big package
