Nice review, for us climbers it’s good to know how the garment responds to overhead movement.

This has become my essential piece of clothing for running since late summer. Still running with it in the winter, just switching for warmer baselayers and sometimes I put a running rain jacket on top. It’s a fantastic piece. So well thought through features with the long sleeves that work like gloves for the first few kilometers, the hood that ventilates great but is just enough to replace a toque and break the wind. The two-way zipper is so good for keeping your neck warm while letting some heat out. It’s definitely a great piece for the uphill when splitboarding/backcountry skiing. Climbing and glacier travel would be great with this as well. Just not sure how well it handles wearing a backpack on those activities in the long run.

I've been eyeing this piece since it came out! My main intended uses would be for summer time alpine climbing and mountaineering. I've been wanting an ultralight (ideally something around the weight of a Patagonia houdini jacket) , breathable softshell with some wind and weather resistance. Do you think it'd work well for this application? Also, your review mentions it runs slim. If i wanted to layer under this piece (say a baselayer and maybe a thin fleece mid layer), would you recommend sizing up?

Hey Andrew! Yes, I would definitely size up to accommodate those other layers. I think this would serve your goal very well. For the size and weight of a Houdini, you get better breathability and the wind resistance. Hope you enjoy it! - Sean Sewell

Thanks! Do you think the hood would fit over a climbing helmet?

Does the airshed pullover pro offer any uv protection for running/alpine climbing? Haven’t seen an discussion of it.

Good question. I do not have any info to say that it does. However, I have used it for several hours at a time above tree line. I would venture to guess it has some UV protection, but it is not listed. Hope that helps! - Sean

How would you compare this to the Kor Preshell?
@Engearment2 жыл бұрын
I like the Kor as it has pockets and full zip.

@@Engearment Thanks! Would you say the Airshed is better for running in cool breezy conditions (40-50f)? Or does the Kor work just as well?
@Engearment2 жыл бұрын
@@davidgoldberg1869 I would say they would both work well for this. The Airshed might be a bit more form-fitting if that is what you are going for.

@@Engearment does he wear it for warmth ?
@MS-ff4vm3 жыл бұрын
@@williamgillespie9298 probably not since this is a windshell not a fleece or down jacket

doesnt look warm...more like summer chill days .. wear over 60 weather type?
@Engearment2 жыл бұрын
It is not warm at all. It is meant for high output activities. Running, hiking and stuff like that. You could use it in temps around 60 as well. Good call on that.
