Suggestion: write a script, record the audio and then shoot the video to mimic what your script says. This one kind of came out of nowhere as it’s not new, nothings changed so unsure of the purpose. Still want one. 🙂

$25,000, lolol That’s what I paid a few years ago. Today, you won’t see it for under $45,500 and the 1A-010 is going for north of $50,000. It’s a gorgeous piece and wears incredibly comfortable, actually my most comfortable steel bracelet example. Nice review👌🏼 Cheers🍻 RP

Had to stop watching after a few minutes. How can you in good conscience upload a video with this level of terrible sound? This is beneath the overall quality you presumably strive for on the site. Go over to the Watchfinder & Co. channel and take some pointers from the experts. If you're not able to always bring the best picture and lighting, then do us a solid and supply decent audio. Excellent watch by the way, no go do it justice.

That doesn't mean ABTW couldn't improve their production quality. I do not expect the level of Watchfinder, but 'building' a small set with decent lighting and buying a quality microphone shouldn't be that hard when 15-year old vloggers provide better production value.

It's called feedback, and is something most businesses appreciate and need. Loosing viewers/subs due to rudimentary aspects of video production is bad for business. The watch community is small enough for us to care about the channels available.

Watchfinder & Co are selling watches and that is their primary goal. aBlogToWatch and earlier aBlogToRead is the site with reviews, information, interviews and it has the highest traffic and I personally like the style more. Because ABlogToWatch has been around for much longer. Their first video was posted in April 2009. Watchfinder started videos in August 2013, but the videos haven't all been reviews; the first Watchfinder review was in August 2016. These are all basic facts that you could have figured out for yourself.

To be honest, I don't really understand what's so outstanding about the watch. Can't find anything special about it form a technical perspective and I also find it to be very boring and just, yeah, ugly in a way. Of course this is just my opinion and I respect people that do whatever they can to acquire one, but there are so many more interesting watches for the same price point or less. Most of the independents (F.P.Journe, Philippe Dufour and the like) deliver much more quality for the money in my eyes.

Name if a product has a multi year waiting list, its not overpriced. Its really thst simple. You can subjectively think its ugly and not the watch for you, but the laws of supply and demand show objectively it isn't overpriced.

W C the same wayba porsche 911 looks the same today as it did in 1980? You are paying for all sorts of things and yes the name is part of that. Heritage matters in horology like it does in cars. Pateks have always been on the high end and people pay it because they pay it. If there is a 5 year waiting list for a product then its worth the price, that's how the supply and demand works.

Guys, I know you must work pretty hard on these videos, but I have to be honest. The audio is so terrible it makes the video unwatchable to me. That's not to say this isn't an otherwise great video and review, but I think even if you watched this one back once after uploading you would hear the audio issues. Hopefully you've fixed this in more recent videos

I will say it is one of my favorite designs. However, to me this watch is a perfect example of an item being expensive just for the sake of being expensive. Its steel, not precious metals. It does not have a wildly fancy movement, etc. There is no justification for its expense, although I think only very wealthy people can afford in the first place and probably would drop the coin without thought.

Vadim Don Good question - because people are willing to pay it for a status symbol. If Patek sold this very same watch for £3k nobody would want it. In fact people would then tear it apart discussing friction pins, thin bracelet pretty basic case finishing when compare to much cheaper brands like Glashutte Original and Grand Seiko. But for 10 times that price people love it - for the status. I like Rolex watches and have bought several new Rolex (amongst other brands). Rolex have got wise to the fact that the more they charge the more people will want the product. But to be fair to Rolex, they do periodically improve the products and increase the quality of the bracelet, movement etc... Vacheron and Lange I personally think are materially better than PP.

Ablogtowatch video reviews have gone into the toilet since James Stacey left to join Hodinkee. The recent reviews since January 2018 have been entry-level or microbrand pieces (e.g. Orient, Fortis, Haldor, Maurice de Mauriac). Also, the audio quality is now just plain bad. How hard is it to get lapel microphone and attach it to your shirt? I'm sure these issues are unrelated to James leaving, but maybe there's some connecting thread.
