Great review and yes the only problem I find with the 5980/1R is the clasp very cheaply done as though it was and after thought and it actually pops open sometimes when I’m wearing the watch.

I'd go for the 5711 as it is more versatile and so hard to get at retail. In my opinion this is a better watch in terms of design and the use of precious metal. It really depends on how much you value the brand intrinsically or if you care about the scarcity and demand of the piece.

Stunning piece, personally I would prefer the version with the leather strap though. Rosegold bracelets (or any precious metal bracelets) tend to become safe queens.

Great video! Hi, i want to ask you some questions please . I never try this watch on my wrist , i have a gold daytona . if you compare this watch with the daytona , which one is more confortable to wear and which one is more heavy on the wrist ? because i dont like heavy watches , they are not confortable. Also one more thing is confusing , the daytona has 40mm case and this patek has 40.5mm case but i think the daytona looks bigger than this watch . do you agree with me or do you think this patek looks bigger than the daytona? , i dont want to buy a watch which looks smaller than the daytona because i have 7.5 inch wrist. thank you.

Hi Adam, thanks for your comment. The Daytona and the Nautilus are very different. The bracelet is totally different in the fact that it has lots more links compared with the Daytona, this helps it to be extremely comfortable as it conforms to a wrist better. Because of this, the watch doesn't feel heavy on the wrist as the fit is so amazing! The Daytona may appear bigger as the dial covers more surface area vs the Nautilus which has a smaller dial in comparison to the case. The Nautilus will be wider due to the 'ears'. You won't have an issue with the size of the Patek, its one of the best sized watches ever made, perfect shape and proportions. Beautiful piece!! If you can afford one then theres nothing like it!! Young Men want heavy watches that remind them they're wearing a 56,000 watch every 7 minutes , like I did in my twenties and early thirties , i enjoyed being reminded I had a Royal Oak or a Panerai or Breitling on my wrist , now in my late 30s early 40s , I prefer lighter slimmer timepieces , even though some are still quite large i attest, but the materials used are lighter. I would never wear my 1st Panerai anymore or my iced out Breitling , but I have a ceramic one I enjoy wearing (panerai) . Side note I do not like gimmicky Richard Mille , crap . Hublot was the Mille of my early watch buying days ....

I have a question for the fellas here what is so beautiful about this watch it's dainty it looks plain and audemars piguet is so much more beautiful in so many ways. I'm not saying it's terrible but it's just an average dress watch. And they sell them for over $100,000 just not worth the money overrated

PP has more prestige and sometimes simplicity is more. AP wouldn't even survive without the Royal Oak, hence there's a whole lot more of them available and the limited editions, offshore etc

If you put a rose gold or even yellow gold audemars piguet next to this watch.The AP gives it 52 Swift kicks in the ass in beauty.
