Stepping down would be the honorable thing to do. At this point, she must be aware that this story won't go away, that her conduct puts pressure on her whole office and that her office might never recover if she keeps her position. It will not end well for her, her whole career is now tainted and her colleagues will want to leave before being labelled as corrupt too. Shame on her for prolonging the inevitable.

If found guilty, and it sure looks that way, be sentenced like an ordinaty citizen. Did I miss something in civics class? Do they even teach that in school any more? The Police need to go to her house and say "surprise, you are under arrest for fleeing and eluding police and for resisting a traffic stop on April 22, 2024" Then take her to jail and book her. Let her spend a night in jail and have first appearance the next morning so she can bond out. That's the way the rest of us are treated under the same circumstances.
