this feels like a next gen arpg. I think the "next gen" leap is animation rather than graphical leaps anymore, and this looks like such a step up from anything else. So excited for this.

next gen is new combat. Poe 2 made a step by adding interclass combo-skills system.

The "animation" is just the control system change, I used to game dev a moba and making sure ability/casting times were short was important for fluid moba combat. ARPG's suffer from static animations because of the mouse bound movement + long casting etc. They swapped movement to WASD and so they can have w/e casting times they want while maintaining movement, the entire game looks far more fluid for it, honestly surprised it took this long for an ARPG to do this or even just reduce the cast times so that you get a more moba style stutter step, dodge,cast,dodge style of combat. Diablo 4 actually went backward on this and made the combat static and boring.

Then i can tell you poe2 will be the best game ever made... in both aspects grafics and animations. Poe 1 use one animation per action. Poe 2 will use 20! Animations per action! Gonna be insane! ❤❤❤❤

I have a love and hate relationship with action rpgs. I really love when you explore and fight big bosses and have to dodge mechanics and they are tanky, but these games always end up eventually being so that you press 1 button and then you do a million aoes that one shot everything around you while you just run around. Hope this is different.

@@synth4tk PoE started as an indie game. Minecraft started as an indie game. Star Citizen started as an indie game. Nowadays I wouldn't call them as such, but that's how they started. However in PoE most development goes towards skins, while the actual base game has been largely unchanged for years, only with seasons, so hard to say it's deviated much from an indie title. PoE 2 is a AAA title though.

Feels much slower than poe 1. I think its good, if i play more than hour in poe, my head started spinning a little bit. First game is overloaded with old mechanics and new players don`t even understand what to do after acts. Its like playing wow, but you foced to visit all expansions all the times.

Even if I really like the game,the two things I dislike the most about PoE 1 are the almost unreadable pattern that one shot you,and the fact that almost all end game build works around one or two skill you have to spam. Looks like those things aren't in PoE 2 anymore,so I'm really happy,I think many people won't like the slower and more strategic gameplay,but PoE1 will stay alive for a long time,I really hope GGG will have enough money to keep those two games alive at the same time
