Path of Exile 2: I Played It For 6+ Hours And It’s…Incredible

The current Path of Exile 2 is definitely the best iteration yet. At GGG's second event this year, I sat down with my wife to play PoE 2 console on couch co-op mode, literally on one of dozens of other couches in the room. The experience was...incredible and PoE 2 gameplay is definitely in a much better state than it was in March.

@@rotony1 Its fun to ID items as that extra layer of discovery makes items feel good BUT to have a finite amount of scrolls and taking up a 1x1 slot at this point is silly. Make it a static placement like trinkets have in poe now or something. in LE and D4 items just drop iDed it just feels like you're interacting with text data but at least in LE item bases matter and they have interesting implicits, in d4 hell the fucking art work doesn't even match up its so bad

@TalkativeTri could you maybe ask, how exactly couch co-op will work on consol with something like SSF? Like, does couch co-op mean you have to be in Trade or is there a Option for SSF couch co-op? Also how will couch co-op work on a technical level. Such as, does PoE2 (SSF and couch co-op mainly) require PS Plus sub for online play and do all players have independed loot or is loot shared? Tyvm in advance and I hope you and your wife are having a blast.

To reduce the frame rate drops on consoles during high action events, they could add an option in the settings menu to use simplified spell effects or not show all spell effects. FFXIV has a setting like this and it helps cut down on some of the graphical chaos for those who want to do that.

I have over 10000 hrs on Xbox poe. Ctrl+D for price check is the biggest remaining difference. This would be a game changer for consoles to have an equivalent price check method. I realise it opens a can of worms regarding 3rd party tools in general. Worth an ask though. Mtx is next but that's being assumed as crossing over as well. Lastly can guilds contain console AND pc players? Thx for ya vids.

great video man. you made a point ive been thinking about; the hardest thing to do is introduce this game to newer players (though it sounds like the tutorial is good) -- and the best way to do it, is to literally have a experienced player sitting next to the newer player. couch co-op is SUCH a smart power move for initiating new players into the game, it's simple and brilliant

I am still in the middle of my extremely casual Playthrough of Diablo 4 with my Wife and i hope i get to do that for PoE 2 as well. Thanks for the great video @TalkativeTri here's my Console-specific question(s) all centred around how console-bought MTX's will transfer to POE2: It's already been confirmed that POE 2 will have both cross-play between platforms & cross-progression, which is unlike POE 1. GGG has also previously stated that any MTX such as Stash Tabs will transfer over to POE 2. I own the most Stash Tabs on the PlayStation platform for POE1. Will they merge with the Stash-tabs I own on PC or will they only appear when logging into POE2 from a PS5? Will we be creating a GGG or POE account, & then linking our PS, Xbox & Steam ID's to that so that we can have access to the same progression, characters & stashes from any platform? Any clarification on this will be greatly appreciated, especially because of Stash Tab Sale Weekends. For example, if only tabs bought on PC were transferring to the Cross-platform accounts of POE2, it would be good to know sooner rather than later. thank you and all the best to the team.

So stoked to hear about the interview. On the highly unlikely chance you get to see this, I'm curious if the developers have considered giving old MTX something like a "TLC pass", catching them up to modern MTX. Considering MTX is a higher standard now, and old MTX really shows their age, it'd be a welcome update; especially moving into PoE 2. I know some will want that classic look, so maybe something like the variable MTX in the mystery boxes, where you can toggle between, for example, the "classic" basilisk pet or a new modernized one.

I believe they have said they won't do it for 2 main reasons. 1. Since MTX drives revenue, retreading old work would just be them throwing money out by not releasing a new set 2. They don't want a paid product like an mtx dramatically change. Great stuff can’t wait for the release seems like ages till we’ll get it. Some console questions for ya: - Is improving performance going to be a priority till release? Will there be graphic options for consoles to choose between quality and performance? - How does the zoom feel when playing coop? One of the biggest downsides in D4 couch coop is when players are in opposite sides of the screen, you can’t see shit. Even though the screen is relatively centered there are no margins between the players and the end of the screen so you can’t see what’s happening right next to you, resulting in unexpected deaths. It should have a better experience and I hope GGG do better.
