I absolutely love that my Pathfinder 2e Ranger feels an awful lot like my Dual Blades using character in Monster Hunter. I also simultaneously applaud Paizo fixing some of what I didn't like so much for the 1e Ranger but lament that those fixes came from my 1e Slayer. Now, we're either never getting Zadim returning OR we're getting a whole new take on the Slayer for 2e.

I totally think it was weird that we didn't see Zadim as the example precision ranger in the CRB (like how we saw the old oracle cameo as the flame oracle example build in the APG). Since multiclass rangers don't get a Hunter's Edge, I wonder if we could see Zadim/Slayer return as an archetype that gives a similar hunters edge style option, or maybe a city-themed class archetype.

@@CollectiveArcana Considering how they handled the Cavalier in 2e, I think there's some merit to expecting to see the Slayer as a very fleshed out archetype and it could, ironically enough, be what the Ranger used to be with its "Favored Enemy" mechanic. We'd see the Ranger as the versatile, adaptable woodsperson and the Slayer as the dedicated, driven psycho who dedicates way too much time to killing a particular type of monster type (dragon, undead, humanoid, or even spellcaster). That would also make it a lot less likely to draw player ire by making it a full class that has to focus on one enemy type and force that enemy type, by necessity, into the campaign. No point being a Slayer with a mad on for vampires in a campaign centered around taking down orc slavers. You could pick your class, say that there's a reason you REALLY want to curb stomp gnomes or unicorns or basilisks, and enjoy a suite of feats that make that more likely but doesn't necessary make you a one trick pony. That's how I'd do it in a world where this version of the Ranger exists.

Your content is fantastic!! Thank you so much for these excellent and detailed videos. I think you should do more calls to action for your viewers ("Please subscribe, like and comment") - especially at the beginning and end of your videos - even in the middle as well, since the videos are quite long (which is great!!)). A call to action in the beginning of the video works wonders and is really important if you want to gain more views and subscribers!! Otherwise people will just forget. Take me for example: I watched about 10-15 of your videos and only just now realized that I wasn't even subscribed to the channel haha. I'm subscribed now of course :) Thanks again and all the best to the both of you!

Ha, thanks for the advice! We've been so torn on this because we don't want to ruin the experience for the viewer but.. we have a LOT of content at this point, and a lot of watched hours, but not many subscribers and thats a little discouraging. We will try mentioning it sooner, we really appreciate the advice/encouragement!

​@@CollectiveArcana I know what you mean, though I think these days viewers are very used to getting the "If you like our content please like, comment and subscribe to help us grow." pitch at the start of a video - hardly anyone will take this the wrong way. In the end it's a win-win for you and the viewers if they subscribe. :) And from what I've learned in marketing that call to action is so much more effective at the beginning of a video than later in the video! But yeah, I'm sure you're on the right path. :) Thanks again for all the amazing value you provide. All the best!
