I like how Marius is becoming more and more politically savvy as the game goes on. Also, I often forget about the duality Aurelius. We usually see his kind and just intellectual side and then occasionally get reminded that he's doing all this with the intent to murder someone for vengeance.

The scene with the Druid was beautiful, "After you've had a bath". Truly you understand the Wildwood Lodge. The connection with Demi's past was a nice bit of world building.

I’m really glad to see Aurelius possibly being influenced by the county. I was side-eyeing him when he appealed to Billy’s need for vengeance (that’s when I’d roll to see if Billy does something stupid as a GM later on), but I’m glad he flipped the script to appeal to Aurelius to live up to his role as Baron. Billy will make a strong leader, whether he knows it yet or not.

Truly enjoying this series. I'm loving the character growth here - Marius' Sense Motive insight is serving him well, and Demi never misses a political gambit.

Yeah Demi knows the Taldan political landscape, and Marius is getting better at living in this world too.

My boy Flauros! I'm playing an ifrit cleric worshiping him in a campaign! I love all the references to other Golarion lore. I know I also caught that the Wyvern was described as huge rather than large. I love how you're narrating size in this.

I love how in Pathfinder, no matter what random archdevil or empyreal lord or whatever that comes up in my videos, someone somewhere out there has a character where that entity is central to their concept. I love it. Go out there and light some bad guys on fire in the name of the lord of smoke and volcanoes!

Rankle getting to show off some Darklands lore was neat. Always great to be able to include background stuff when it originally didn't have something in the book, or fleshing it out. I like that the bandits were given more "nuance" and depth. Bandits are used a lot for generic grunt enemies but sometimes it's nice to point out they may have reasons for doing it. I also like how over book 2 Marius feels like he's becoming more assertive in his views. He goes from a humble life to a grand and dangerous adventure so seeing him be more sure of his morals has been fun. Appreciate this second video this week!

@@TheMythkeeper Oh it definitely did! Just finished it and it was amazing as usual. One thing I'm constantly in awe at is the cohesion between your players, I know that Aurelius and Diyanah have if not a shared backstory than an established relationship before the game, but do you have any tips on how to cultivate that type of unity in your whole party? The group hearing Marius out and going for the diplomatic approach over just killing the bandits, as well as the fact that from a meta perspective he still hasn't shared all he knows about the Night Swan stuck out to me as an excellent display of sportsmanship in particular. So I'm curious if this is something you can help cultivate or if your players are simply amazing (which wouldn't surprise me, given how good of a GM you are it makes sense for the players to reflect that)
@TheMythkeeper22 күн бұрын
@@PresidentofSolos There are two things that I do with new groups to try and cultivate this kind of camaraderie. The first is that I have a group character building session together. Its hard to share all the details here in a KZbin comment, but essentially I ask them all what they want to play, and then I do a couple exercises to connect the players in subtle ways. One of those exercises is to write half of a story and then to leave it unfinished, and then to pass the story across the table, and have another player finish the story. In finishing the story they add their own character to the story and then they read it out loud to the group. This is why Diyanah and Aurelius were childhood friends (I actually don't even remember the details of the original story because it was so long ago). This is also why, if you think back to my very first episode ever, Demi recognizes Marius from his days before he was a tavern-keep when he was working as a smuggler and doing some shady stuff he's not so proud of now. The second thing I often do (and I think I did here) is share this article with my players - lookrobot.co.uk/2013/06/23/stanislavski-vs-brecht-in-tabletop-roleplaying/ I have shared this on occasion and had some rare players react negatively to it, but honestly its a great read, and something I highly recommend especially to new players to help create a really supportive atmosphere.
@PresidentofSolos22 күн бұрын
@@TheMythkeeper This is absolute gold! Thank you. The cooperative story writing is such an elegant way to make intertwined backstories and the article seems like a great read too. To both learn from and to share with the group to get them in the right headspace, greatly appreciate you taking the time to write this.

Really loving this series so far! I find a lot of TTRPG series hard to get into due to all the different speakers and the tangents they go on sometimes. This style is much easier to listen to IMO.

"Xugaths from the Darklands...Foul creatures, leave none alive." Dang, no love for his darkland kin. Though I think that's been preestablished somewhat. Always fun to see evil creatures enslaved. Gives you the briefest of pauses on if it's right to kill all of them so swiftly. But we all know these guys would probably be even worse on their own. Drow might just be less brutal than the free followers of The Glutton in the Dark. A bit of a shame we didn't get more about that combat, it sounds like it was a lot of fun and very dynamic. And no mention of their horrific smell!
@TheMythkeeper22 күн бұрын
Sometimes D&D/Pathfinder calls for a foe that isn't asking the players to consider all the shades of gray. Xulgaths are such an enemy. Although its true that they are just following orders here. The real villains have yet to reveal themselves. In terms of the combat details, I went back and forth myself on how much to include. Ultimately I felt the salient details were - they win but old farmer Ralthorn dies. 😅

Ever thought of Reaching out to Piazo and doing a series like this for each campaign adventure? It could be posted to their main community website.

I'm a member of the Paizo Partner community, but honestly they have their own goals and programs. They're supportive of youtubers and community content in general, but I think this would be an uphill battle to get them to sponsor anything official. Frankly I'm just happy their official Insta plugged my channel that one time. That's endorsement enough for me!

Are their character sheets published?
@TheMythkeeper19 күн бұрын
Short answer - no. Longer answer - All of my players maintain their own sheets and our games are about 3+ months ahead of video production and publishing. So right now for example right now players are Level 12 and we're halfway through Book 5. If I asked my players to dig up character sheets from when they were Levels 4-6 (the levels they were at throughout Book 2) they probably do have those versioned somewhere as the sheets are mostly digital, but I wouldn't know exactly which ones to pull for each player. Maybe as a bonus at the end of this series I'll share everyone's final sheets (their 'final forms' so to speak).
