Regarding fire vs earth, whilst there is definitely a case for double fire, as having an energy composite blast is nice, giving up on deadly earth or cloud (you cannot take both with double fire), and giving up on trip infusion is a very steep opportunity cost. Single target, kinetic blade is more effective than any other option (and still works with zippy magic), and due to extremely high burn cost using a composite blast where you will take either 2 or 1 burn per iterative attack before and after level 15 respectively, you are almost certainly just using flame rather than blue from for your kinetic blade, or earth if you can hit the AC and want to use trip infusion. You will be sitting at 7 burn anyway for elemental overflow, so you might be able to do blue flame kinetic blade for a few rounds at most per rest. So single target, you generally wont be using blue flame. In terms of AOE, deadly earth and cloud are literally impossible to resist, other than by raw physical damage reduction, which in this game is simply never that high, or in the niche case incorporeal enemies, only the elemental components of these blasts do damage. But for the most part, you do massive damage allowing no save, SR or AC to prevent the damage, and in AOE, and it applies each round, so non blue flame builds are stronger on AOE. Also, you can only go double fire if fire is you level 1 pick, and whilst targeting touch AC is nice, being subject to fire resist really sucks where a very large proportion of enemies have DR 10 or more against fire right from the get go, with 10 DR at low levels being a huge proportion of your damage. You will basically constantly be having to use ember for curse of vulnerability until you get ascendant element. Going earth first and fire at level 7 means you will have ascendant element at around the same time as you get your energy blast. Double fire is better for wall and detonation infusions (it does almost double the damage with these), as well as the normal kinetic blast as you target touch AC with a composite blast, so there is a period from level 7-12 where it is a fair bit stronger. But once you have deadly earth, earth -> fire -> water/air are comfortably better for AOE imo, and even if you take deadly earth over cloud, you still wont get this before level 17 as a double fire kineticist, unless you take blue flame at level 15, in which case you lose out on your edge of having composite energy blast from level 7 before the earth kineticist gets deadly earth. So an earth build gets 1 of the two strongest infusions at level 13, and both at level 17, whereas fire picks only 1 at level 17.

When it comes to kineticist I honestly find Aeon mythic path a must have simply because Area of Effect Gaze making it so you can just use deadly earth, cloud, whatever you want and it will never do anything to your allies. Yeah sure paths like demon and trickster will make you deal far more damage but just having the freedom actually have party members do stuff so you can play as a group instead of basically soloing the entire game is worth it imo.

I didn’t bother with the Kineticist twins in PF: KM but that was a missed opportunity all because I cbf learning the mechanics as a DnD grognard. Also appreciate all the builds, I moved on from 3.5 to 4e as my preferred system so these all really help as Pathfinder classes are very different from WotC 3.5e. Will be giving this class a shot in the Midnight Isles roguelike, thanks again for the pointers 👍🏻

In Kingmaker, Kineticist was brutal for the beneath the stolen lands dlc which was basically a dungeon crawl. You walk up to a door, drop a wall on the choke point and then a dangerous earth just past it. The earth effect can knock them down and the wall can push them back. You take apart the mob, then get rid of the effects and send the rest of the party in to mop up. That was my favorite class for a long time, it just takes a while before you unlock the really fun infusions.

Yeah, Kineticist can be superb for ambushing or alpha striking the enemy before they can even react, especially after you get Deadly Earth and Wall!

@@cRPGBro Yeah Deadly Earth + Wall takes out mobs before they have a chance to fight back. Fortunately they added in the feature to cancel your own effects. You used to have to lay down a second wall and deadly earth somewhere else to remove the first set. It's a nice quality of life change.

@@Vagran checked it once again. It seems it is not a skill nor ability. Actually it is a spell of level 0. Kinetisist doesnt have spellbook on his own and my mythic spellbook doesnt have level 0 spells either. And even if it had i believe you can use this button to remove spells only wich is not kinetisist case. That sucks.

good guide. I can add that psychokineticist better than base in some cases. pairing with 1lvl dip monk and goin into dex+wis, he can be effective on any range, be a frontliner and so utilize blade whirlwind more(as azata it's even more powerful), you manage burn just choosing before the fight what you want more - dex or will saves, which will be very high. Blade whirlwind also has a bug(was in kingmaker and still present in wrath) - gather power reduce burn for whirlwind more than it should, so more infusions applicable(dispelling infusion quite good even on core, but not much above), so with just lesser version you opt to move and strike maximized empowered whirl each turn. Also i'd say that fire on 1st and water on 7th level is most efficient combo(or eath on 7 if you want deadly earth), because you'll get pure flame too late, and mosly will use simple fire blast, because it require no gathering and as blade you can do full-round attack, while water gives shroud and option to deal with spell immune enemies. Also kinetic ressurrection is very handy because its absolutely free unlike any other.

Yep, the big damage aoe Kineticist abilities can be great fun if soloing or with ranged characters. I often run melee/pet heavy parties so in my case it can get somewhat annoying. But I imagine it's also a lot easier to handle in Turn Based mode.

Well, the good thing about Kineticist is that once you get the area of effect abilities around 10-13, your Mythic doesn't matter THAT much. For example Blue Flame Blade Whirlwind will deal great damage to all enemies surrounding you. So, go ahead and have fun!

Fine build ideas, I have 4 suggestions though. 1) You could dip 1 level into thug for Frightening and go for dreadful carnage to literally watch everyone run around like headless chickens once you kill something, and since persuation skill is going to be enormous, everything that can be feared will be feared. But this might get a bit frustrating at some point because you will have to be chasing the enemies running around and probably chain pulling entire dungeons, but it's super fun and feels dominating :D 2) Many people don't know that amulet of fists/agile fists work with kinetic blasts as well for bonuses to attack rolls. 3) If you want to minmax further, after you pick pure flame you can respec and pick something else in place of the spell penetration feats. 4) You can also go for Kitsune for the extra shapechange stats from the mythic ability (don't remember the exact name), super powerful stuff

Love all the videos. I want to share that I think the blood kin is bugged. I made one just for fun as a merc. I never bothered with Wrack, as it looked very underwhelming. On a chance, I used it with the upgraded blast and maximized. The enemy succeeded the saving throw... but took full damage. So, empower plu maximize, they make the save, instantly one shotted. This mercenary two turned playful darkness. 100% guaranteed full damage. No roll. Save doesn't matter. Just single target nuking. Almost felt dirty... almost

Nice guild, it helped me big time. Was using Kinetic Knight because I was not sure how to use metamagic at the time. I would like to add that if you have decided to combine your elemental with your physical blast, your blast will be consider physical and you wont need both spell pen saving you 2 feats. For Earth and trip builds, you might pick Agile Maneuvers and also Tandem Trip. I find that if you go Fire > Fire, you ran out of good Wild Talets, I prefer going Earth > Fire > Water. You get the most of the Wild Talets. I have been having a blast with Demon Trip Kineticist. You start your round with Demon Charge into Blade Whirlwind. It just deletes everyone. Playing in Hard but I can see this work on Unfair. I think the last level of Kineticist doesnt add anything to the class. It think it better going Vivi or something else. Not sure yet.

One thing I found about your guide that is a little bit confusing to me was getting all the feats I needed at the early levels since I didn't pick human and didn't get the extra feat. So I was missing precise shot feat all this time and had a really bad time playing. Overall, your guide is 10/10

I would agree non of the archetypes are as strong as base kineticist. The Kinetic knight is terrible. As you say, it gives up a huge amount. And ironically, as of level 19, its far worse at using kinetic blade. Burn free empower metakinesis is a 50% damage increase on kinetic blade, and kinetic knights never get metakinesis at all. It does even the thing it supposedly specialises in markedly worse (-1 burn cost is pretty garbage given that you will not get iterative attacks until level 8, or even haste until level 5, and you get infusion specialisation at level 5, so before level 5, there is no compelling reason to even use kinetic blade over kinetic blast) and you lose literally 33% damage at endgame. To give up all ranged and AOE infusions and metakinesis to go for heavy armour and shield, and skip the need from point blank shot, precise shot and weapon finesse when this class is hardly feat starved is just a terrible trade off. You are still wont be anything special as a tank, and as a damage dealer (which is the whole point of a kineticist), you are vastly worse. At the very least, this should have been given full BAB progression and metakinesis, even if it would only ever use this at 19 for 0 burn empowers. Elemental engine has to sit at max burn to get any bonus over the base kineticist, loses its size and fortification bonus, and by being max burn, never has the option to use certain wild talents, or quicken a blast, as well as being very susceptible to falling over due to damage. Blood kineticist gets some pretty meh unique infusions, and in exchange is stuck without any non water infusions until at least level 17. All the other archetypes change the primary stat from constitution to a mental stat (more health and fort saves are generally superior to having a high mental stat for a kineticist), and get gimped replacements for elemental overflow as a trade off. Overwhelming soul has no size bonus or fortification, a lower damage bonus per 3 levels, extremely limited ability to use abilities which require burn, and unless its since been fixed, its AB bonus per 3 levels doesnt apply to kinetic blade, which is awful. Dark elementalist loses size and fortification bonuses, has only 1 good save, and having to stack up your hit and damage bonus by killing a certain HD value of enemies several times every rest is very inconvenient, particularly if wanting to rest immediately before a hard fight. Psychokineticist also looses fortification bonuses, and mental alchemical bonuses are generally less useful that size bonuses to physical attributes. Int and charisma bonuses will generally do next to nothing for a kineticist, and you only get a bonus to will saves, damage and some of your blast DCs. The normal size bonuses buff reflex, fort, health, hit and damage, and all blast DCs, as well as increasing carrying capacity (if you dump strength, this can actually be quite useful). Also, your penalties to will saves and skill checks are HUGE (-14), and even the additional wisdom you will have due to your build will almost certainly not offset this penalty (your wisdom would need to be at least 28 points higher than a non psychokineticist). The only situation I might consider these a better option over base kineticist is for Lich, as final transformation removes your constitution stat altogether, and there is obvious synergy with the overwhelming soul pumping Charisma.

That's basically the same build I'm currently playing. The first levels are a bit rough, especially before mythic rank 1. But once you get zippy magic, you're melting enemies. I also prefer the fire build over the earth build. Trip kineticists are an absolute borefest.

Two quick questions, CRPG Bro... I've never played a kineticist before, and I'm thinking to roll one up for my next playthrough. Question #1: In the tabletop version, burn is basically non-lethal damage, and all the burn goes away once you rest. Is that the case here as well? Question #2: Since you can get the Ascendant Element mythic power, as well as combine Ember's Vulnerability Curse, does it matter which element you choose? I never see anyone with an air kineticist, and while I can certainly understand not wanting an electricity-based kineticist when you're mostly taking on demons that are immune to electricity... the Ascendant Element and Ember both remove that issue. I can understand using the Demon mythic path for fire, but if I'm not going Demon... does the element matter? And if so, what element would be best with which mythic path? Sorry for the noob questions, this was a great guide. I'm looking forward to my next playthrough. :)

I believe a Kineticist + Azata can indeed complete the challenge, as Kineticist basically doesn't need to rest at all to use abilities, and you can eventually alpha strike/ambush enemies to the point they are either outright defeated or heavily crippled by using Deadly Earth/Cloud/Wall before battle starts as I show in the guide. Azata also has 2 mythic spells that restore party member spells, and even class abilities too! Ideally I imagine you would also rush for the main quest to keep rest count low, especially during Chapter 2&3 where you have all those side areas to explore.

@@cRPGBro I'm still on my first unfair run, with a trickster Sword Saint GS GVS. I'm nearing playful darkness but it's becoming a faceroll. I have all possbile buffs, mark of justice, skald all domain cleric. I plan on doing the azlanti challenge with your oracle paladin and sadistic one with your azata kineticist. Which one should I do first ? In theory I think the azlanti one is harder cause I can't save.

@@MosCraciun777 Last Azlanti is certainly going to be harder because of the single save and permadeath, but BOTH can be done just on Core which should make them very viable for you as you already have experience on Unfair. For Last Azlanti, just be mindful of certain abilities just as Phantasmal Killer cast by Shadow Demon Votary, Petrification Ray by the Spider Retriever Demons and also Prismatic Spray. All of these can result in instant death for the main character, which can be very troublesome as unless you are a Trickster, there is always a chance of you rolling a 1, so I would keep main character in the backline for battles with these so the enemies waste them on other characters like pets.

hey man just wanted to add that spindle at level 5 is a worse choice than fan of flames from the simple perspective that it is an aoe attack that really (at best) tends to hit 2 enemies- and thats when you get the effect to work. Fan of flames isn't anything special, but since we've been stacking initiative this game it can be a solid pop of damage on multiple enemies at some point..

You're welcome and thanks for the comment! I'd say Aeon doesn't really do anything for Kineticist, I'm afraid. Just some minor bonuses. Demon is by far the only Mythic at the moment ever since the Azata Zippy Magic nerf that has great synergy with Kineticist. The good thing is... Kineticist is extremely strong past level 13 with Deadly Earth, so anything with it is just a bonus 😀

Dazzling Display requires you to be wielding a weapon that you have Weapon Focus with. The reason we pick it as a Kineticist is so that we can get Shatter Defenses, which is automatically applied to attacks by having an ally cast the Frightful Aspect spell. Also, you can get Dreadful Carnage which automatically applies Dazziling Display to all foes nearby once you kill an enemy. Or you can have another character use Dazzling Display.

Hi ,I recently started playing wotr and I created/hired mercenary and made it a kineticist, I picked earth and fire elements (later getting air) I have a current max burn of 11 but for some reason I cannot use magma blade -kinetic blade, it's always blacked out ? Why? For whatever reason I can use magma wall with pushing and bowling infusions as well as maximize and empower metakinesis and gather power low but with any gather power active and no infusion or metakinesis I just cannot use magma blade

You didn't take weapon finesse for this build to get attack from agility? There is also a ring, which can be useful for kinetics: Steady Finger - ring of protection +2. It grants the wearer a +3 competence bonus on touch attack rolls.

I found there was no need to get Weapon Finesse - our blasts will be either ranged touch, or melee touch in the case of Blade/Blade Whirlwind with Blue Flame. Also started with even 14 STR and 14 DEX, and only CON was increased for more damage/burn potential. We even get +1 untyped to AB per Burn, and we can get ~19 Burn. It is very easy to hit enemies with touch attacks of both sorts, especially as Kineticist has Medium BAB. Unless you use Steam Element, but since we only get that at level 15, by that point we have enough AB boosts to easily hit normal AC.

Zippy magic working with abilities (kinetic blasts) is a confirmed bug and now fixed in the new beta patch. I suppose that weakens the build a bit.

Yeah, when that gets changed I'll update the Azata Guide to reflect it. For this build in particular, I kept it as a general character for any Mythic, which is why I don't cover Mythic Progression in this guide (unlike the one in the Azata Path). I imagine there won't be any point in going Azata as a Kineticist, and Demon will reign supreme for it which I'll talk about in my Demon Guide.

Hey there and thanks! Fire + Fire is my favorite choice because of targeting touch AC. But for Demon Path, Earth + Fire or Earth + Water can be pretty good, and Demon Path does have synergy with Earth because of Trips on Deadly Earth + Aspect of Kavalakus!

Kinetic Knight might as well be another class. Yeah it has infusions and burn, but it is melee and can make full attacks subject to haste. That is radically different than all the others who can only cast one blast of some kind per turn.

Yes, I imagine if you want to fully focus on the Blade it can be decent for 0 Burn Cost, but I worry about the loss of damage from no Empower + Maximize, and won't a Composite Blade cost Burn anyways? You can also full attack with Blade and a normal Kineticist, you will have to eat Burn but you can still take only 3 Burn for a Full Attack with both Maximize + Empower on and a Composite Blast eventually, and you'll be looking at 4 attacks/round. Still amazing for single target bosses/tough foes since the Burn is only inflicted once per full attack.

@@t_task Yep, it makes Full Attacking with Blade great and also the best against bosses and tough enemies as you get around 4x your Blast Damage in a single round, with 4 chances of a Critical at 17-20, quite decent with Fortune Hex, and all melee touch attacks.

Many people claim that kineticist is the hardest class in the game, but in my opinion this is wrong. I think the hardest class is Magus. If you know the magus, you know everything about the game... The rest is reading descriptions on spells :)

Magus can be a bit tricky when it comes to finding the difference between Spell Strike and Spell Combat, but I think Kineticist tends to be more overwhelming because of all the different elements, element combos, Burn, Gather Power and also all the different Infusions/Feats for each element.

@@cRPGBro Hmm let's see. To understand magus, you need perfect understading of mechanics of a round. What is swift action what is free action what is standard action and so on. Then you need to know everything about AoO-s and how they interract with your spell combat. Then you need to know what arcane enchantment actually do. A test question for people: If you are dual wielding as a magus (for whatever reason) and you apply magus arcana enhancment do you get enchants on both weapons or only on main one? How about if you are wielding a double weapon (like gnome-hooked hammer)? Then you need to know which spells to pick, since your spell book is limited. Then you need to know which spells to use with spell strike (you get extra attack, but you deliver a spell targeting normal AC, instead of touch AC, which would otherwise be the case, unless you use dimension blade. Speaking of dimension blade, which arcana enchantments are good for you?) You need to know all the important buff spells, especially if you are eldrich scion, since you don't get to change them. Idk, man. My first complete run was with psycho kineticist and now my second run is with sword-saint and in my humble opinion the sword saint is more complex...

Nope, as Blasts aren't really treated as "spells". Which is why they don't work anymore with Azata Zippy Magic for example.

Is there a reason to have a 19 in Con instead of 18? it gives the same modifier, and you can put points elsewhere if wanted, unless I'm missing something, also is Str needed for this build?

CON is left at 19 because you gain a new ability score every 4 levels, so you end up on an even score at 20 (19 +5=24) STR isn't really needed, but I would still keep it at 12-14 for Kinetic Blade if you want to use it. OR you can go DEX with Weapon Finesse.

Hi there, that's because this was a general Kineticist guide not really focused on any mythic, so I didn't go for the Main Character specific abilities. I cover Mythic specific abilities here in the Azata Kineticist section of my Azata Guide, which is tailored for a Mythic Path: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boSrnqClZt6Ahas But as a Kineticist, my favorite First Ascension is usually Instrument of Freedom because it has scaling uses & duration and you can use it to highly increase the damage of your party member against tough enemies or bosses. But you can also with the Trickster one for +3 to all skill if you like using Persuasion with Shatter Defenses for example.

The Sigil Ring stacks with Improved Critical, but unfortunately it doesn't stack with another copy of itself! I think highest would be 13-20 with Trickster + Sigil.

only bit I really disagree with here is metakinetic master. in the pure fire blast you only lose 7 average damage with empower over maximize(the paper shows kinetic blade damage and blade doesnt get the 12 bonus damage you would get on your blasts from kinetic overflow and doesnt show fires fury either) and gain an average of 12.5 average damage with steam cuz empower boosts bonus damage also. its not usually a big deal because you're going to be using both almost always anyhow anyway because why wouldn't you, but if you're say in melee range for a foe you can switch to a normal blast instead of a composite and turn off gather power for a full attack and keep empower running without costing you any burn so with water blast for example thats 4 average damage 132+sneak attack damage hits. its not going to matter often but I do so love gaining a bonus that costs me nothing

Is it viable with a Kitsune, mainly for Vulpin Pounce ? What is your composition party ? I see you Skald merc but not your Paladin Seelah.

Pounce from Kitsune or Skald Rage Power can work, but if you have Gather Power on, your character will do the channeling animation and only Charge after it is done. You can turn it off and take the Burn Cost, or eventually reduce the Burn Cost by turning Empower + Maximize off, but this will reduce damage. But for default Kineticist, Kinetic Blade should always have a 1 Burn Cost usually. Kinetic Knight is the archetype that gets Kinetic Blade at zero Burn Cost, but loses on the ranged Blasts and many Infusion Powers. My party for this run was Seelah, Daeran, Sosiel, Camellia and a Skald Merc.

Even with all 20 levels in kineticist, weapon focus, energy based ranged touch attacks, pbs and precise shot... these things miss like crazy. I pretty much exclusively use the aoe spells since I'm sick of them missing all the time. Anyone tried a dex version instead of con?

Hi there, I have only tried the CON version, but didn't have much issue hitting enemies because the blasts I chose target touch AC which is always a lot lower, even on Unfair. Are you properly increasing the AB of your characters through buffs? I explain it all here, hope it helps you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bl7IoYRvqLWFqrc Even for touch attacks it still helps a lot to increase your AB. And it does have wonderful synergy with abilities like Blade Whirlwind when combined with Azata Zippy magic for example.

You need con because your dmg scale with Con but you can have dex as your second stats. Im running a dex melee with demon mythic path but this should work with your range, start with a 7/18/19/10/10. You still put cons when you level up. Take elemental overflow that increase dex +6 while at 7 burn. I normally demonic charge (demon mythic path) into blade whirlwind (with maximize and empowered) and one shot everyone (playing in hard). Sometimes its better to oneshot the squishies to get dreadful carnage and use shattered defense which will target flat footed enemies if you dont have any frightfull aspect in your front line.

Alright so lol I did a kinetic knight build a while ago it was okay but this build is stupid... it's far far stronger no comparison and also way more fun I made one small change though I traded out Wall for Unraveling since I find a mass dispel effect a bit more useful if by some miracle the entire enemy force isn't one shot with Blade Whirlwind or a well placed eruption

Yeah, my issue with Kinetic Knight is losing the very good Metakinesis Abilities for way higher damage. The Dispel Infusion can certainly help!

If you take the Mythic feat/ability "Ascendant Element Fire", does spell penetration feats do anything anymore? The mythic feat/ability says you ignore spell resistance.

Spell penetration is targeting a different type of "resistance". Think of the fire resistance demons have as more of a damage reduction.

Spell Penetration is to overcome Spell Resistance. Fire ascendant is to negate fire resistance. Two completely different concepts. You could, for example, overcome an enemie's Spell Resistance but do 0 damage to it because of the target's elemental resistance to the type of damage you're doing

This can work too! I like a bit of STR and ignoring Finesse, especially as with size spells we can get high STR anyways. But Kineticists have so many free feats that you can certainly go with Finesse too.

Oracle Angel certainly. It has a far smoother progression and is also a lot more fun and easier to play! Hi there! Here is a breakdown with my lowest of the saves: imgur.com/a/9hIh3gx Basically, Guarded Hearth alone from Community Domain gives +11 Sacred. Demon Slayer Soup for +3 Cooking Azata has 2 spells for saves, Moral Support gives +3 Untyped, and +3 Luck from Unbreakable Bond. The rest are mostly staples such as +6 from Cloak of Resistance and +4 Morale from Greater Heroism. But when it comes to Will I also have Skald Rage for a big +6 untyped boost too!

@@cRPGBro You really like that Guarded hearth... I also wonder how you circumvent the issue of it being one cast per day. Do you keep it for boss fights ? Do you rest really often ? Do you use it in your vids just to show massive stats ? Do you use the auto-rest from toybox ?

@@VolkStaal i simply only use it for boss battles or tough encounters. Which fits just fine since there's often only a single boss per area. And I also use it in build videos for maximum build potential showcase. But the reality is, even on Unfair, you are not going to be needing Guarded Hearth 24/7 except for boss battles or the really tough midboss tier encounters. I often only rest once before entering a new map area, and don't tend to rest inside dungeons. This is why I really love Greater Enduring Spells as soon as possible, for 24h buffs. When it comes to saving vs enemy spells, for most status effects, you can simply outright become immune to them such as with Freedom of Movement, Death Ward & Shield of Law.

PSA: You shouldn’t plan on going Azata as kineticist anymore. Superpowers like Zippy Magic no longer work with kinetic blasts. Aivu has also been nerfed

@@trythis2006 Hi there! Unfortunately for Kineticist, Demon is by far the strongest choice. There isn't much synergy with other Mythics, besides Lich perhaps, but I find it's far better suited for the full arcane casters: Witch, Sorcerer, Arcanist & Wizard duel to spell merge.

Thank you for the continued support! I think a solo Demon Kineticist would have an easier time as soon as you get Deadly Earth(13) for Aspect of Kavalakus cheese, but before that, I'd say Azata is probably a better choice from level 10-12 when you get Mythic 4 for Zippy Magic.

Azata, Demon (for Earth Kineticist), Trickster are all great. Demon is quite cheesy, though, so unless you like playing with idiotic synergies that absolutely shouldn't work together, I'd recommend Azata or Trickster. Azata gets Zippy Magic, which copies your kinetic blasts, essentially making it hit 2 enemies. Given how stupidly powerful kinetic blasts are, this is an amazing ability. Trickster gives you a huge critical range for your kinetic blasts, Trick Fate (you roll a natural 20 on everything for 3 rounds) and other nice goodies like microscopic proportions. I went with Azata and don't regret it.

This build doesn't work properly on Unfair. You need much more Dexterity to actually hit something. In fact maxing dex from the start is much more viable. If you take fire as your primary element the second infusion Blade is worhless. Fan of flames is much more viable. And can actually be used at this point of the game. Then you add points to constitution which means that you can hit something, which means that you're not playing unfair. Even with Dex 19 (+1 point on level 4) with all available buffs like bless, bard song etc. you will occasionally miss (about 60-80% hit to simple adds and much less to bosses). That doesn't include the fact that many enemies that you encounter level 1-7 (second element) will resist fire.

I think the biggest problem with core kineticist is how boring it is to play. What will we do this round? The same thing we do every single round until you get deadly earth. Its a very strong class but not very fun.

My first kingmaker playthrough was with one and I can't deny it was effective and I enjoyed the idle animations but its like warlock that only does eldritch blast every single round

@@richardforde1 Well, one of the joys of Blade is that you can full attack with it for blast damage multiple times/round against a single foe. But for a normal Kineticist, that wouldn't be sustainable even if the Burn cost is only once per full attack. A Kinetic Knight can use Blade with no Burn Cost, but will lose on the big boost from Kineticist Empower + Maximize. Full Attack with Blade for a normal Kineticist is still amazing for powerful single targets like bosses since you can go all out on your Blade for full attack.
