Its one thing if people start with RPing and eventually get to know each other outside of it and end up getting together outside of RP as well, but when people assume that an RP relationship means a real life one too? Okay..just two minutes into this video and the story is STRONGLY almost similar to what happened to me several years back when I was still a newbie to the game. BRUH! XDD To make it short, this guy named Jack (he was a miqo'te) asked me if I was single, my dumbass responded, then he invited me to his party (it was just me and him). He took me to Costa Del Sol - over to the 'secluded' area near Curious George and he tried to have his way with me and I told him to back off; he said, "You don't want to be my kinky gf?' and I was like "no, but perhaps we can still be friends" Then he was like, "Nah I'm good" then teleported out LMAO

I just can't understand how ppl get this deep in to their (E)RP lives.. I play the game, but I don't feel that I AM my character. I see other players and see them as ppl sitting at desks playing the game like me. If I talk to anyone (FC or other), I'm not talking to in-game characters, I'm talking to actual ppl that are far less interesting and not even remotely as attractive as the characters they play. Like.. right? Am I the odd one out here? Is everyone around me logging in and believing that they are in Eorzea, literally being emotional about emotes?

When you roleplay, you shouldn't make your character a self insert. You should make them their own person and keep the game in the game. That includes ERP. These people don't do that, it's their self-insert in the game. That's what's causing this drama and makes this so weird and bad.

I've played an RP enforced MUD for near 27 years, and while not all go too deep into theirs, a good bit do. It's not a bad thing, but it's the way people portray themselves and how their RP is. ERP is really the same way, people have different vices right? So I try not to judge, but a lot of the crazies are there that can't separate reality from a game so...best to avoid it than chance that, and stick to the real thing or websites. A lot of people who ERP get attached emotionally, like super attached and become creepy, it's bad juju.

It's crazy because I was never in the RP scene in FF14 at all yet weird players approach me from time to time, and say things like "I'll give you this much gil if you strip your clothes." or "You're a cat girl aren't you? Why don't you strip since that's what they do!" even though my character is full clothed all the time and it just pissed me off so much. While sometimes I don't mind when RP people approach me out of the blue but if they're being a weirdo then that's a different story. I don't mind ERP and by all means if that's how people enjoy it then it's fine... I just hate that it has cultivated some weird people to think it's okay to approach people like this to anyone and it gives a bad name to other people who minds their own business.

I seem to be one of those few that actually goes out of my way to avoid ERP. I've had marriages mind you but mostly they have been, "fade to black scenario, give the lovers some privacy," type deals. I do RP occasionally though, mostly because my main has a personality that I love. Sunayo is a disciplined, cold war machine who appreciates honor and integrity above all else. Rarely, if ever, opens up and IF she does it means that she has respect for someone she gets close to. Otherwise its like trying to get blood from a stone. She's a VERY private person and will only really show interest if someone actually wants to try to be intimate. There's a reason I usually call her, "The Ice Wolf." If she does open up, know its a relationship that she will literally punish herself for betraying it. Get on her bad side though, well there are worse things death.😁😁😁
