Okay I don't play FF14 yet as I was planning to get it within a couple of Months and I happen to run into one of Panthra's Videos and ngl I like them cause its a real eye opener. After watching this Video I gotta say the Dude totally got Catfished because I've met two People in another Game that has admitted as well pulled the actions of a Catfish. I got an Ex that admitted he Catfished one of my Friends (which was male) and confessed he Catfishes Dudes no idea why he does but he does. Another was a Dude that pretended to be a girl and Dated two of my Friends when it came to Photosharing that Catfish sent my Friend two seperate Private area photos which you can straight up tell wasnt the same. When it came to Photosharing my Friend A got one Photo of a young 18ish 19ish girl and my Friend B got a different Photo from this Catfish which looked nothing like this chick. The Catfish was like an Aunt and her supposive Niece used her Account was the excuse, but turns out there was no Aunt that was "MUTE" or a Niece that shared the Account it was found out it was a DUDE. In the end both my Friends quit that Game and my Friend A became mentally messed up cause of it while Friend B moved on to being with his Ex Gf.

A bit late for this as I just found this channel, but I would just like to point out that only offering one side a chance to speak is a _really_ dangerous precedent. Not giving platform to a liar is not possible, as without reciepts there is no way to know which side is the lying side. It is really easy to make stuff up in order to slander someone, and not giving them a way to defend themselves if they so choose is really not a good thing to do.

I feel so utterly horrible for OP and I don't judge her at all. Sometimes gaming is the escape we need to not get overwhelmed by the stresses of life... and as someone who games as a hobby, MET MY NOW HUSBAND in this game, AND also works a solid and reliable job - it's perfectly understandable to want to find someone who's personality you think is the one for you. When you fall in love with the PERSON THEMSELVES but the problem is the poor girl fell for someone who wasn't even who he pretended to be. She even said if all of what he said had been true and he didn't look as she expected... she would have still stayed with him. It wasn't his weight that eventually resulted in her breaking up with him, it was the apathy to be an equal partner in THEIR relationship and future. My husband was not my typical type when I met him, and we dated online long distance for five years until he moved in with me. All during that time I was upfront with my expectations and upfront about what I wanted him to meet me halfway with - getting a job, saving money to come visit, etc. And eventually he did, sure it took time, but if he could prove to me with his actions that was enough for me. He moved in with me five years ago and we've been married now for going on four years. It can work out if BOTH parties are willing. And I'm very lucky to have him. He treats me well, he is quite literally my best friend and we game together (more than just FF) and we also work and take care of our house together as a team. OP never had the teammate she deserved and I HOPE one day she will.

FXIV is not a dating game, just play the game, don't go for love just let it be, if it happens that's great if not that's great too.

Dude sounds like me from about 4 or 5 years ago. He needs to get over himself and realize that there's more he needs to work on with himself instead of consciously pursuing relationships, and stop with the, "I'll never find love, it's not meant for me," pity party. Yeah, no, this is completely fake. I believed OP until they said "turns out Zack is my teacher" and "everyone blocked me but Shu sent a letter". First of all, the odds of randomly meeting someone in-game and then IRL are extremely slim. I have a real-life friend who plays FF14, but he noticed me playing and I wouldn't have met his character otherwise (we live in North America, but I'm on Primal and he's on Aether). I'm not saying it's impossible, but I _am_ saying you have higher odds of getting 3 lines on Wondrous Tails Secondly, in-person letters are rare in this day and age from my experience. If someone we know mails us something, it's usually a card or invitation, not a letter. I also find it hard to believe that everyone mysteriously blocked OP without questioning Shu or leaving at least one avenue of electronic communication open to say _something_ about what happened. There was also not any indication that OP is on the autism spectrum; even if they were, that’s a big omission that could've added some context

While I'm more on OP's side, I feel like you should have given Avery a chance to speak on his side of the story, and let people make their own judgments on whether he's being truthful or not. If it's truly his choice to not speak out, that's on him. But I definitely don't condone harassing anyone else after this, like damn they're miserable enough, leave them be. Not gonna lie, when you said Avery "showed up on chat" the first thing I thought was someone was impostering as him. It's too easy to lie about that kinda stuff lately...

One thing I never understand in a lot of these drama stories is, what is it with a lot of these people taking things like dungeon drops or palace so seriously? I could understand being annoyed if you were in a savage static and you were supposed to get a weekly piece that someone else yoinked from you, but like... dungeon gear??? Bro, just run the dungeon again, you weren't locked out for the week. And unless it's for glam purposes, why're you getting that pressed over some dungeon gear that's typically subpar compared to other options at a given level anyway? Not worth freaking out over. I remember there was one time I ran a roulette some years ago, and was just needing and greeding gear because anything I get would go to GC turn-ins, and the tank freaked out because I won a piece they wanted. And it was a level 30-something ARR dungeon, and they hadn't communicated at all that they wanted it for an alt job until after I won it, but they freaked out and kicked me (they were the party leader). But they didn't kick me right away, they waited until after the cutscene for the DUNGEON BOSS but before the pull, another 10 or so minutes later. Straight up weirdo behavior. That was my first blacklist apart from RMT bots.
