The sonic difference in Out of Time that you noticed may be due to the fact that the track is a sample. It's a Japanese City Pop song called Midnight Pretenders by Tomoko Aran. The music is basically the exact same , good ear.

@@pathreacts 'How Do I Make You Love Me'' is great, Sacrifice, Out OF Time. I LOVELOVELOVE the transition between ''Best Friends" and ''Is There Someone Else?'' Every Angel Is Terrifying is super cool, love the buildup and even like the fake commercial, I think it really captures that 80-s commercial style super well. the entire concept of the album is that its a radio station that you’re hearing right after you die. that’s why a lot of the lyrics throughout the album reference death a bunch, and why Jim Carrey pops up occasionally as the “radio host” speaking as if you, the listener, are being transported to the afterlife and he’s prepping you for it. when Abel does the whole radio commercial gag in Every Angel is Terrifying, he’s basically selling the afterlife to the listener. the concept of it being a radio station that you’re hearing as you’re waiting to enter the afterworld could probably explain why a lot of the songs flow into each other

Talking about his sexual experiences has always been a huge part of his music and his directness and honesty about everything is kind of what makes him great (well not only that but ya know). If u plan to dive deeper into his music you will notice that i think. Great Reaction :))
@pathreacts2 жыл бұрын
thanks! & i'm honestly all for breaking the social stigma and talking openly about sexual experiences. but when it's focused on *both* parties (rather than just his experience), i can't help but feel like it might be awkward for the other person, since they can't speak for themselves lol - didn't mean to come off as judgemental !
@Hamzethegoat2 жыл бұрын
@@pathreacts true but he does a judge job of not being disrespectful with it it’s more focused on him
@DReddKingArthur Жыл бұрын
Yeah it is definitely true about him owning that 80’s aesthetic. I love this route that he is going with this. And if you didn’t know I believe this album is a part 2 of a trilogy with After Hours being part 1 and a third one coming in the future to complete it. I believe that After Hours represented this crash and burn moment by the end of this horrible person that he was but as i was listening to you go through this i got curious about something. I forgot about trilogy thing until watched you go through this and saying things like, “why would do that” when he talked about lying and saying he would never leave this woman. And all the other moments when you brought into questions some of the lyrics made me think and wonder what is the connection between this and After Hours. So this album represents Purgatory right? If he’s reliving the past having regrets then this should be the story of those regrets. So i had this clever idea and listened to this album backwards. Yo so first off I apologize for this long comment but… it made me open my eyes to this album in a different light. Less than zero can be an interpretation of him struggling to get over a break up with this girl and then he finds out she got married but decided to still see her as this secret lover until the point where she is destroying him and he questions if she’s really hurting him with what she is doing or if she is hurting the guy she married, but eventually things get too toxic and she doesn’t want to have “sex as friends no more”… eventually he’s going through all this pain and hurt and finds a woman who is basically just a rebound and says he’s going to give love a try again but he can’t trust her so there will be a prenup. But in out of time he is still thinking of the ex while he is with this woman but he feels he is out of time. This new woman that he is with now is trying to fix him but he treats her like shit t and sacrifices her emotionally even though deep down he doesn’t want to but he’s doing it to cope with his own inner pains and leads her down this dark spiral life with him which he ends up gaslighting and manipulating her until he becomes so dead inside with gasoline where he just stops caring about everything saying if he does eventually die from it all just set him on fire until he burns away into nothingness because now everything means nothing. Which then goes into the beginning of where After Hours takes place. I may be wrong but I’m glad i listened from a different perspective and if you really think about having Jim Carrey there is important in a way. If you ever seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind it would make since that this whole purgatory thing is him reliving the past from the person he became for the After Hours album, to how he became that person in the beginning with the heartbreak in Less than Zero so that he can make peace with his pass and move on to the next life. I don’t know if you have time to read all this and check this out but with the analytical approach you have I thought this would be a dope idea to share. Also i am loving the content! Take care!
