Man his philosophy is exactly how I think. I see this happening with Limited Run Games games, they are releasing physical copies that are limited to only 2500 copies worldwide (in some instances) which is practically nothing! As soon as people get them I see the market flooded while Im sitting here on them knowing in a year or so they are going to sky rocket. This video was awesome! I love Chuck's mindset it's a nice reenforcement to how I think about some things which other people don't because a lot of people lack vision and want instant gratification.

We do the same thing. I don't care if I sell it now or in 5 years. Patience is a virtue, and most people don't have that. Had someone make a low offer, and said it's been on forever so I should let him have. Of course I nicely told him I;m not at all in a hurry to sell it.

I am not a big fan of PC and I can tell Chuck isn't either LOL I loved how honest he was about his views, and thank you for the great story about the letter - that took courage! Not racing to the bottom is part of being patient, and that helps all of us, so that is part of being patient! I talked to my brother and he said a Mile High near him closed but he hadn't seen this one, so I sent him your 3 videos in the series so far, and it winds up my niece is a big comic fan so I asked him to show them to her too! Thank you for sharing!

Excuse me, but Phil Seuling developed the concept of the direct market in 1972 with Sea Gate Distributors which he refined over the years improving the distribution of comics to specialty stores. He lost a monopoly suit in 77/78 which led to the formation of tons of distributors.
@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter4 жыл бұрын
Sure he did, but that lawsuit was one of the other factors I referred to that led to Chuck to help retailers get more favorable deals with publishers. Phil blamed Chuck as one of the instigators of his downfall due to his meeting with Marvel.
@stevenbond92014 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter I can't ascribe anything to Chuck back in those days to anything other than making sure Chuck helped Chuck. As to Phil, wouldn't he have had the same terms? I think he might have gotten in over his head. I admire Bud Plant. He said this isn't working and I don't want to be doing it and sold his comic book distribution company. BTW, I was never enamored of Saunders over at Lone Star. He used to charge a quarter whenever a customer added or deleted a title on their pull list.
@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter4 жыл бұрын
Steven Bond Chuck has many others sign into his letter and the deal he struck with Marvel was extended to other comic stores owners. Not sure about terms for Phil but whatever they were, the other comic store retailers were not getting them at the time.

@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter hey dude ive got a question please. I just got my invoice for ebay fees and it is outrageous....like 25% at least. How do you feel about the cut they take on the shipping? seems REALLY unfair to charge fees on that when we dont make any money on it and everything. I understand WHY they do it but there has to be a different way to prevent that. Also any tips on keeping fees/invoice as low as possible would be a cool video in the future. Im really frugal with my listing fees and make sure to take full advantage of free listings and promotions and it still seems pretty high... thanks for your time
