I developed tinitus two years ago as a result of a severe inner ear infection. I have a constant, continuous high pitched beeping sound in my left ear which never stops and will never go away. I remember being told by my doctor that there was nothing they could do to stop it. Its such a desperate feeling and so overwhelming. I think this episode dealt with that reaction really well. Two years later, I am adjusting to the sound in my head and learning to live with it. It wasn't the end of the world, but just felt like it for a while.

@JCHK.6 жыл бұрын
sister bitch they could have said we will see you next and put him in a private room (if available), but if I saw that I would be calling for security as well. Unfortunately people acting like that are a high risk to staff and other patients, they didn’t know what he was going to do next. While I have the deepest sympathy with people who have PTSD and I know they are under extreme stress, calling security is the best option. I’ve been working in emergency and seen patients acting like this. One of them stabbed a patients husband and a security guard. Lucky no one died but they had severe injuries. Sadly violence against hospital staff is very common.

I’m sure there’s some medical reason for this but it really bugs me that they left the pencil in his ear for so long.

Loopyleelee_the_Flute_Kid hi. You see, when any object gets inserted into any part of your body by accident, it is wise to not pull it out right away,since that object may have caused a big damage and by pulling it out, patient could even bleed to death. So it is advisable that only the doctor pulls it out when he/she thinks it's the right thing to do. The object could be anything e.g. pencil, glass,etc.

Loopyleelee_the_Flute_Kid yeah, one time I got a needle through my finger from a sewing machine, and because it came out the other side they could’ve easily pulled it out, but they kept it in because it could’ve damaged the bone and if they pulled it out the wrong way I could’ve bled a lottt

So for anyone watching this and is a bit confused I've watched the entirety of this show (really good btw!) and obviously they cut the clips to make you watch the episode right? TRIGGER + SPOILER WARNING AHEAD TY If I remember this episode correctly, sadly the insane man jumps off of that building, while the doctor is leaving his shift. He feels completely helpless about it (the fact that they're both vets) and I think he suffers very very mild ptsd from that experience. :/ so yeah, thats the ending of that story ig
@AmeliaPeekMCKatlover5 жыл бұрын
Or one of these cases does at least, and they all witness it. It's so sad

Chicago Med is an amazing and a very underrated show. While the other medical drama tries to portray doctors as gods of some kind who can cure anything, this show often shows the truth that the doctors are human after all, and sometimes what is good for the patient may not make everyone happy. I love the realism. (If it was Grey's or House, Dr. Choi would have found an innovative way of removing scar tissue without harming the heart. But here, the patient is advised to learn to live with it)

This reminds me of the time when I had my first panic attack. I didn’t know what it was and it scared me too death. I thought I was going to die, but there was nothing to help me cope with the panic and anxiety. As the waiting went on to see the doctor, I got more and more anxious. Looking back, I was on the verge of getting crazy because of how anxious I was. Oh boy, how relieved I was when I finally got to see a psychiatrist and finally knew what was wrong.

One time when I was little, I remember y heart beating so loud that it drove me insane. Of course at the time I just started school and didn't really know a heart could y'know..pound. So I went around the house screaming and crying for about an hour or so, yet my parents ust watch me loose my mind over it and shrugged it off like nothing. It was truly terrible, so I could somewhat understand how someone with this feels like.
