There are 2 types of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) i.e. Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) and Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD). CAPD is a type of dialysis that can be done at home by oneself. APD is done with the help of machines. Cleanliness is very important while performing these procedures.

Hello sir, my mother is ckd patient and she's going through capd operation today. we took this decision as my mom's working woman and being on job its difficult for her to visit hemodialysis center for her weekly dialysis. please kindly suggest us is this really going to work. we have gone thru every possible treatment for her but atlast we have last option as peritoneal dialysis please kindly tell me did we have take good decision or not.

It will help a lot in filtering blood but complications arr common in dialysis You can have a normal lifespan with little complications that's all Peritoneal dialysis leads peritonitis(common complication) so treatment will heal it
