@@gaem_sung2152 as I said “more likely” wire guided missiles on airborne craft are a scarcity nowadays either being replaced by RF variants of the same system, or being replaced outright by new missiles. Wire guided missiles have a couple of major drawbacks when dealing with aircraft and as such are generally replaced with before mentioned items. Earlier models in the Cold War didn’t have the luxury of small cheap laser designators and thus wire guided missiles were preferable. The only current platforms that I know of that use specifically wire guided missiles are the AH-1W and the Lynx. Edit: I forgot the Malyutka which were deployed on the MI-2, 8, and 24. Regardless my point stands. These seem like quite modern helicopters doing complex maneuvers in a crowded battle space. Lots of stuff to get a wire tangled on and helicopters wouldn’t be doing those maneuvers if they had to worry about them.

@@plopolip2135 Patlabor as a whole wasn't, but this movie in particular is very Cyberpunk in the way it deals with information warfare and the use of a small group of technical professional (although in this case robot jocks) operating outside the proper channels and/or actually slightly breaking the law to end the conflict. Remember, by this time Noa was a Shinohara test pilot and Azuma was about to take over the company's engineering division. Goto technically recruited actual civilians to join the fight. @KoishiVibin4 жыл бұрын
@@claytonmachine12 The AH64 fills that niche I suppose. Close Protection Support. The A-10 can do it's runs, but it's got a very short time of engagement. I would say there is so much more to appreciate with traditional hand drawn mechanical images, in motion. It kind of blows you away knowing that some guy hand drew all of those detailed and consistent frames. In saying that, I don't mind CGI. Eg, I do like the CGI tanks in Girls Und Panzer. They are detailed, animated at a higher frame rate and the studio makes best use of the fact they are CGI which allows them much more dynamic camera angles. Arpeggio of Blue Steel is also pretty good when the ships turn into giant lasers and start shooting everywhere. The Kantai Collection film blends CGI mechanics fairly well and I'd dare say it's probably one of the best integrations I've seen. In summary, CGI works when the CGI looks good and that the animation productions takes advantage of the fact they are using CGI.
