The Thai guys that are outside of the gogo bars are not "promotional" staff. They are "security" staff. At Rock Hard they have been known to lock the door from the outside if a guest has a conflict about his checkbin, which has been known to be wrong from time to time ie drinks added to the bar tab that weren't ordered. Time for either negotiation or a beating. Been going on for years.

If I understood you correctly (still learning Spanish), you can select SOME girls but not all (it's called a bar fine) and take her back to a hotel that is "girl-friendly" (meaning they do no charge you for a female guest). Bangkok 112 explains whether the hotel is girl-friendly or if you must pay a fee (joiner fee). I hope I got that info right.
