This is an old fan made Documentary (tribute) about the life and death of legendary comedian Patrice o'neal (it also features interviews with his friends etc..). It's about how he was brutally honest in the face of any situation, even at his own expense.

This is a fan made classic documentary (about one of my favorite comedians) that i really think embodies a lot of what i'm about. The truth. The guy who made this Doc is in the description if you're interested in looking him up. Please read news below... RANDOM NEWS/UPDATE - For some reason it seems that some youtube employees or just some trolls, seem scared/threatened by this documentary for some reason (i'm not joking). First they left a comment saying "the only reason white people love him so much is because he feeds the lie that white people are oppressed too" After i pointed out the flaws in logic in the comment my comment got mysteriously deleted (then i reposted it still no response). Then all of a sudden someone else with a suspiciously similar view of patrice, is leaving comments that would ALSO stain patrice/the documentary. Saying that the people that like the do are racist white people. Here are both the comments they left same account... "The amount of neo nazis in the comments moonlighting as, “iM nOt RaCiSt BuT,” is crazy" "Who tf was that racist bitch boy, “hEs NoT lIkE oThEr BlAcKs,” like wtf" So i combed the comment section all the way to 11 months back and can't find either comment with even vaguely the words they used or anything like that. Someone is trying to stain the video for some unknown reason.... RIP Patrice.

I remember back when this documentary first came out. I was worried it might disappear so I found a way to download it and keep it on my own computer (I still have it). Thanks for re-uploading it. Whoever put it together did a fantastic job of highlighting the various aspects of what made Patrice special - the primary reason being his desire to be "righteous" (true to himself). The common thread that runs through all of Patrice's comedy is honesty. His honest opinions were often extremely insightful and full of wisdom. How many times when he's talking to people (audience members or guests on a show, or co-hosts, etc.) did he say "C'mon. Be honest. Be real". There is only one other comedian working today with Patrice's level of professional integrity - Dave Chappelle. And that's why they are my top 2.

I feel like cancel culture is already over. A lot of these so-called cancelled people are still able to work specially comedians because fans will always support them just like you see Louis CK still be able to sell out shows. It feels like it’s mostly a social media phenomenon in places like Twitter which if you spend any amount of time on that you realize it’s a lot of people that are disconnected from the real world and ones who really have no power to actually cancel someone.

If Patrice were still alive I believe he would be one of most popular comedians, perhaps of all time. Hollywood is dying. With podcasts, and the internet comedians no longer need Hollywood, or have to censor themselves. I don't think any comedian would have benefited more than Patrice. It's sad he didn't make it long enough to live in an era where he he could keep his integrity/dignity without risking his career. If he had been very successful maybe it would have forced other comedians to be more honest, and not bend the knee for their careers.

So I start searching for whatever I could find about him online and OH MY GOODNESS !!! There were almost thousands of hours of Patrice telling his own "Truth" like a teacher that knew how important his teachings was and that he had a criminally short time to share all the insight and knowledge he had! He really did change my life almost a decade after his untimely death...He was part of, maybe even the leader of the exclusive club of people that the World needed more than they needed anything from it.

Thank you RedBoy for this beautiful and well put together and thought-out piece. You let Patrice speak his ideologies without having to say what was amazing and special about him. I think what you’ve made here is a masterpiece in terms of “show don’t tell”. Thank you for this documentary / tribute to a stellar man

Patrice was such a visionary, he was ahead of his time. He honored the truth more than fame, which makes him very likable, or dislikeable, depending on whether you serve truth or dishonesty

Thankfully, Patrice has a lot of material out there. There are about: 135 episodes of Opie and Anthony that feature him. Black Phillip (about 13 shows) on youtube somewhere. There's his later stand-up specials, Mr P, Elephant in the Room, and Unreleased. The Patrice Oneal Show (on youtube) didn't make it to the big screen but is really underrated. There's also a book on Amazon with most of his advice compiled together called "Men, It's Your Fault". Enjoy the journey and good luck, fellas

She ran out of money and published all of the interviews on KZbin. So everybody that invested in the project felt scammed. I missed the deadline for donating so I didn’t lose money, but man did I feel guilty watching the 40 minute footage of Better Than You.
