The government actually controls the federal reserve. The heads that run the reserve have to be appointed directly by congress, and they are not allowed to print money, among other things, without direct congressional approval. The government wants people to think that the federal reserve is a separate entity because they are afraid people will lose faith in the value of the dollar if people realize they are just using the fed to print money, which causes inflation and brings the value of the dollar down. England had this problem when they made their own centralized government bank called the bank of england. People realized they were printing money and stopped using it and got pretty angry that their government was making them poorer by inflating their own currency. Also alot of people don't really know why just printing money is so bad, but its because the value of a country's currency is tied to how much gold that country has. So if the value of a dollar is equal to one dollars worth of gold, and then a bunch of money gets printed, the amount of gold stays the same, but now there are more dollars, so the value of the dollar drops to compensate, and now one dollar is valued at 70 cents worth of gold, and the value just keeps going down with the amount of money being printed. This is why inflation acts sort of like an unseen tax that keeps going up with the amount of money that's printed, where people have to spend more money to get the same amount of stuff they could have gotten before inflation. I think if you Google "congress and the federal reserve" you should be able to find all this info but its been like a decade since the last time I looked into this, so it might be different key words to find it but it should be there.
@Rays_Bad_Decisions Жыл бұрын
@@Jake-uk8sjthat's not totally true. They set the interest rate and money is printed for new loans. Your loan doesn't have congressional approval or really any oversight when it's in the banks interests to close the deal and they can sell the debt to other banks

I mean, I think it was Socrates who spoke on the issue of democracy. He points out who the masses would vote for. How would they choose. Would they choose the candy maker, who makes them feel good, but provides unhealthy outcomes. Or would the masses vote for the doctor, who makes them feel pain, but provides healthy outcomes. They choose based on emotions. That's not even mentioning the issue around the entire premise. In a logical world, we'd all break down the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate, and discuss with nuance the best possible candidate to elect. We do not do that. We have pathetic reality TV style elections, with people voting whichever person makes them feel good, or not for the guy they hate. It's bread and circuses. In my opinion, voting is merely a facade put in place to give the masses the illusion of power and control, as without this vote, the masses would be quicker to resort to violence to achieve their wants and needs directly. It's pretty obvious. People online, comment all the time, go vote. These brainlets actually think that voting in some other puppet, is going to change their lives. We change our lives, we take action, we are supposed to help each other and contribute within our communities. Well, the government and media has officially convinced hundreds of millions ofpeople to vote, and that voting is the only true way to achieve change or progress. Not true at all. That's an abusive mindset. We do not rely on the government, or we are slaves in all but title.

funny ass "i don't believe there was a conspiracy america planted bombs" ..... except.... every other few floors were shut down for weeks before that, and people were steady complaining about crazy loud noise in the weeks leading up to it. and the weekend before power was out for big chunks and the building was shut down. none of which were an issue like that the entire life of the buildings before that. 1 2 and 7. but not the rest. not hard to figure out if you look into it at all.
