BECOME A PATRON TO GET SONGS/TABS: www.patreon.com/coversolutions Hard one. I discovered the fast 16th notes (G#, F#) are not played with a hammer or as some players do. That adds a different level of difficulty. You can easily go for the hammer ons though, but some videos of Freddie Washington prove that this is the way for the groove. I recommend playing slowly and having already a good slap sound acquired (good hand position, stamina, wrist movement). I honestly think i still don't have the skill to master this. I'm not that great at slapping, so sorry about that. If you have any question you can ask me. I'll answer. Song is in F# Minor: F# Natural Minor (Relative to A) (With F# C# G#) i F#m (F# C# G#) or F#m7 (F# A C# E) for extended harmony ii° G#dim (G# B D) ii G#m7 (G# B D F#) probably coming from F# Dorian (E Major) III A (A C# E) iv Bm (B D F#) V B/C# (C# B D# F#) suspended chord v C#m (C# E G#) or C#m7 (C# E G# B) for extended harmony VI D (D F# A) or Dmaj9 (D F# A C# E) for extended harmony VII E (E G# B)

At 3:24 in the ghost note section, you normally use x's to represent ghost notes but you've got (2)'s and (3)'s. Is this for assistance in positioning or am I missing something? edit: Using headphones, it sounds like they were just muted notes. Fantastic playing, cannot believe you're apologising for some in my eyes great slapping!

I’ve had my bass for 9,5 months and I figured I need to challenge myself more to improve faster like I did in the beginning and this is so fun to play, a great way to practice my slapping as well. 9,5 months isn’t a lot but I’ve been OBSESSED ever since I started playing (and even before) so I’ve already bought my second bass (a Fender for $850😬) and I’m starting in a music senior high school on august 18th and it includes a lot of bass lessons and just music lessons in general. Senior high schools here in Sweden are 3 years long so I’m really excited to see where I am in 3 years. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of basses, all I ever think about are my basses when I’m not at home lmao. I’m 16 now and so I’ll be attending music school till I am 19. I auditioned for like 8 different music schools and I got in to my first choice even tho I had only played for 4 months when I auditioned. All of the bass teachers, music teachers and music store owners I’ve played to have said that it sounds like I’ve been playing for longer than I actually have which really keeps me motivated, I seem to learn quickly which makes me really excited to see where I’m at when I’ve played for a year or even 3 years when I’ve finished school. One of my favourite bassists is from Sweden too and she went to the same music high school as me and now she’s working with artists like Harry Styles which is really inspiring. I also saw CHIC and Nile Rodgers live in concert this summer and the bassist in CHIC (Jerry Barnes, the one who replaced Bernard Edwards) started following me on Instagram after we spoke after the show. Sorry for writing all of this lol, I have a tendency to over share and overthink bc of my adhd

hey! 2years and a half bass player here. Dont start with too difficult song, but youll eventually get to a point where youll learn bass slap. Forget me nots sounds difficult but its not when you know your rythmic and how to slap proprely. Its like Hysteria - Muse, you think its difficult while its not. Its all a question of endurance 😔 Like, i know how to play both correctly but its hard to keep up 5 minutes of doing only that. Good Luck ! Even if its difficult try to practice everyday ( at least 30mn ) and play songs you like. Youll see your progress eventually
