I liked it more for the lore than the symbolism, all these guitar alien police thing triggered my child side.I recommended it to a friend and it's pretty funny to see him having to make a pause after episode 1, by all the information that was thrown there, imagine on the others episodes.

Did you know the pillows didn't really want to do this project because they though it was like a commercial or something. So they didn't make songs the the creator wanted, but songs that they wanted. somehow i think that gave the ost it a rebellious energy that fit the show to a T.

I've accepted that I'm an adult and that I try to live in the present, but I would lie if I say that I don't have a nostalgia bone in my body. Even though I didn't watched FLCL when it originally aired on Toonami in 2003, whenever I hear the soundtrack, it takes me back to my middle school years and how I had more freedom to spend my time however I wanted. I had fun going to school, going to clubs, hanging out with my cousins and going to Six Flags, playing video games, playing sports, going to church, and going on vacation trips. I'm glad I made a lot of fond memories growing up that I can look back with reverence. I'm not saying that I'd like to go back to those days, even though I refer to myself as a 90's kid at heart, but The Pillows knows how to bring back nostlagia even when we never watched FLCL until recently.

It has no end to it because no matter who we are are and what we have done , there are people who have achieved more than us . It's human nature to desire for more . If we overcome something in life then we can move ahead and face new challenges . But if we don't then we are stuck at the same place , fighting the same thing again . If we think about it then we can say that all people have weaknesses . Noone is perfect . There are things in life that I just don't understand . It's like those things are beyond my intellectual capabilities . I understand them upto a point and after that are mere assumptions . I want something filmy to happen in my life. Be it anything. I have lost that excitement in me which I had as a child . There was a time when I used to get motivated to do stuff and to set things right . Sometimes something catches fire in me , I dont know how to say this but it's like I witness that same motivation and emotions in me . This has happened like 2 to 3 times in past few days . It's like a thought of doing something comes in my mind and for a few seconds my mind becomes clear . I can see the methods to achieve that goal, feel the excitement to do that task and can see the hardships that are going to come with it . I witnessed something like this today for a good 2 seconds and then I reverted back to my current tired self . There are few songs whose music or beats you can say , fires up my dead soul . I can again feel the heat rising inside me . It's been so long since I did something meaningful and challenging . For many years , I have ran from life , challenges, hardships and responsibilities . I got punished for it too. But will I be able to again rise upto face these challenges ? I want to do something . See when you don't want to do anything in life then even little things get hard to do . Okay so let's make a list of things that I think will be good to get my life back on track- 1. I'll wake up early like at 5:00 a.m. daily . 2. Take at least 7 hours of sleep and go to bed early. 3. Eat green vegetable and healthy food . 4. Avoid processed food especially fast food . 5. Walk at least 4 miles in the morning . 6. Will keep my room clean. 7. Keep everything in proper order be it clothes or books or stuff related to sports. 8. Create a fixed time to study daily so that my mind already would get focused for studies . 9. Think positive and speak positive things . 10. Won't think about things that I cant change. 11. Focus on things that I can improve 12. Exercise daily . 13. Will make my body more strong by workouts . 14. Stay away from toxic people. If I manage to focus all my energy on things that will improve me then I think I won't feel sad and depressed. I'll start with the things above and I think I will find more things to work on if I manage to get all the above things done . I want to feel something new and better about myself . Let's meet again someday my friend . Bye

Coming back to this 5 years later. This song has done so much to help me. I was diagnosed with a panic disorder, have been fighting tourettes, loved ones dealing with serious medical issues, relationships come and gone. The Pillows, and by extension FLCL, helped shape me in so many ways that at the time, I would never have thought possible. It's something I think I needed, something to enjoy in a world progressively becoming worse, either due to real world issues or just my outlook changing as I got older. I'm about to be 21, so I have a lot of growing and learning yet to do. But when I listen to this song now, I can't help but think of how long ago commenting this 5 years ago was, and the subsequent journey in finding myself ahead of me at the time. It makes me realize that I'm still here. Despite everything, despite the suicidal ideation and people punching down on me, I'm still alive. And that's not even what the song is about, so it might seem dumb to others. But for me, this song encapsulates everything.

it's been 5 years since my last comment on this video. i think i was starting college back then. if i could write a bit of an update as an adult now, i'm honestly scared. i don't know what my future is gonna look like. i don't know what road to carve for myself. i've let myself down, i've hurt people, and i live with the weight of my regrets following me in the back of my mind. sometimes it's too much to bear and i just want to let go. it's like the sins of the past scream at me to pay with my life. it's the only way i'd find any peace with myself since i'm beyond forgiveness, even if i know i'm exaggerating. i have people that care about me though. i know i'm not as alone as i used to be. i don't want to hurt anyone, despite how much of a messy adult i turned out to be. i have a long way to go before i ever learn to forgive myself and love again, but i can't help but think there's a light at the end of the tunnel too. i already spent my childhood being miserable, never being able to live it the way i wanted to. i can't keep repeating my mistakes of the past. no matter what life has to throw at me, i'll keep fighting for a reason to go on, even if i don't get anywhere. stubbornness was secretly always a bad trait of mine, after all. and to you all out there? you for damn sure better keep fighting too. we're gonna make it through someday. we're gonna shine bright, together.
