Islam is simple and it is a relation between the creator and the created. You don't need to educate a life time to become a Muslim. God's message is very simple. Those books except the Quran are just human creations, human innovations that has nothing to do with Allah's message to humanity. Quran is comprehensive, conclusive and sufficient for any believer seeking Allah's guidance and acceptance. Today's issue with most Muslims and scholars are, they make their own narratives and then try to interprete Quran to fit their narrative. Just as their fellow monotheistic Jews and Christians did. People need to get back to reading and make Quran central to their core belief. Allah sent the Quran to everyone without a mediator. On the day of judgement you'll not get the chance to say this scholar said this and this scholar said this. It is what you knew and what your faith was and what you did. But today most Muslims have their faith in one group of scholars or the other. But you were told to have faith in Allah and Quran is direct words from Allah.

Why not Judaism? It is the parent religion and is as strict and deep (if not more) as Islam and does not have the extremism (i.e. suicide bombings, virgins in afterlife, extreme restrictions on women, etc)

1- there is no suicide in Islam. It's completely forbidden. People that commit suicide go to hell. That includes suicide bombers. Heretics teach that it's okay. 2- what's wrong with having sex in paradise? Why not? Why would it be wrong? 3- the laws concerning women are much more laxed and much more generous in Islam.
