Very nice to see a guy who's honest about his level of playing, and enjoying the time. "Never practiced, never took a lesson" But he has his own style, and that's what important!

Patrick proves that having your own style is the most important factor. This man is phenomenal in his own right. You don’t have to be a super drummer to sell records. You need to be a super artist. Mad respect.

I saw The Black Keys this week. I really like his sound, like he said very dry, nice thud. The simplicity is just part of the sound. If he was over there trying to be Niel Pert with Dan Auerbachs gnarly, thick riffs, it would be a mess.

This is one of my favourite drum wraps. I was hoping he’d talk about the drum sizes, I think he mentioned a 26 bass but I’m not sure he said the tom sizes.
@geeza1200 Жыл бұрын
At a guess, i would say a 14x12 “rack” tom, and then either two 18” floors or an 18 and a 16
@drummerchappell Жыл бұрын
@@geeza1200 At first I was thinking, there’s no way it’s a 14x12. But after rewatching the video, it does actually look like a pretty deep tom tom. I think you’re right, if not 14x10, but it looks deeper. Thanks for your input
@geeza1200 Жыл бұрын
@@drummerchappell 14x10s look abit more square, comparing to Bonham’s rack tom size which was 14x10 and Pats is definitely deeper so id be pretty confident in 14x12
@drummerchappell Жыл бұрын
@@geeza1200 That’s exactly what I was thinking, I was going to say they Bonham’s looked more square but I wasn’t sure if that made sense. But I definitely agree with you, his original 14 on the thermogloss kit was apparently 12 deep, (later cut down to 10 by the new owner, which sounds insane now. Maybe he didn’t realize what he had at the time as it was apparently just a couple years into Zeppelins career when he acquired the kit) but that Tom looks very similar in size to this one. So yes I think you’re right. I always love talking drums and figuring out little details, so thanks for the reply!
